Cozy Sunset Cottage on the family farm near Cave Run Lake and Morehead State

Sunset Cottage is located among the farms and fields of Morehead, KY. Conveniently situated off of I-64, within 10 minutes of Cave Run Lake, App Harvest, Ind. Stave Co., and Morehead State University. This newly remodeled 2-bedroom home has 1 queen, 1 full, and1 twin bed to comfortably sleep 5 people. A quaint living room with an electric fireplace that adjoins a fully furnished kitchen and dining area. The kitchen includes a full-sized refrigerator and stove, pot/pans, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, dishes, silverware, and much more. Sunset Cottage also has a full-size washer and dryer in home. All linens and towels are provided as are all paper products. The outdoor space includes a gas grill with an outdoor dining area overlooking the green pasture fields. The front porch is the best place to catch that evening sunset while relaxing in a cozy rocking chair or on the porch swing. There is plenty of parking at Sunset Cottage with lots of room for your boat or travel trailer. We do have security cameras in place for your protection. There is one camera on the front porch facing the front door, one on the corner of the front porch facing the side door and parking lot, and one on the back corner of the housing facing the back yard. It is self-check-in at the cottage and before arrival you will receive the Key Code to the front door.

Absolutely the best VRBO property we have stayed at! Absolutely spotless, very welcoming, adorable decorating. Loved waking up each morning to the cow pasture across the field. Also have a lovely fire pit with chairs. Don't hesitate to say here!

We loved our stay at this cute cottage! Full kitchen and very well-equipped with quality cookware and utensils. Wonderful plush towels in the bathroom. Loved the decorative touches. Very comfortable bed. Plenty of extra towels and bathmats. Scenic country setting. Could use another towel rack in the bath, but we tossed damp towels in the dryer instead. The furnace/blower for the A/C is a bit loud, but we got used to it after a day or two. Overall, 5 stars! Would recommend and would stay again.

Visiting family

We love coming here to stay every time we come to Morehead. Angie and her husband have been such a blessing to my family. Unfortunately the two times we’ve stayed here, we’ve lost electricity but Angie always makes sure we have everything we need and takes great care of us. Everything is always so clean, the beds are very comfortable, and it just feels like home to me every time I walk through the front door. Very relaxed and quiet neighborhood as well. Very glad we found this place to stay and made great friends with the property owners.

We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage! It is the cleanest and most well stocked VRBO we have ever stayed in. Angie was great and everything was wonderful. Beautiful, calm, peaceful location. Couldn’t ask for more!

Game changer

My husband and I travel out to Morehead quite a bit, as our daughters both attend MSU where they also play sports. He has been adamant about not staying in vrbos, but with the cost and quality of local hotels, he agreed to try ‘em out. This property was an absolute game changer!! He was even like, let’s come back. Oh, we’ll be back next week! Already secured!! 10 out of 10 any day. Clean, full amenities, including family board games, card games, a grill, firepit and plenty of seating for us to lounge inside or out. All the little touches made our stay super warm and relaxing. If we had to provide any feedback for future consideration, I’d say it would the internet. Connection got lost a few times while we were watching movies, but that may not even be controllable. We may just be regulars as we have a couple more years at MSU to go!

Nurturing Friendships

We stayed in Morehead for a couple of days on our way to Cincinnati. I grew up there and my dad lived there for 40 years. The location of Cozy Sunset Cottage was perfect. It is in the country and has easy access to Morehead. The Cottage is well-maintained, comfortable, and has unbeatable views.

Beautiful, serene cottage

Sunset Cottage was perfect for our family’s overnight stay! I wish we could have stayed longer. The decor is adorable, the furniture is amazingly comfortable, and the location is quiet and peaceful. There were so many little additions that made this cottage perfect—a few snacks, a s’mores kit, and coffee were available for guests. The host went above and beyond to let us know our daughter left her blankie behind in the cottage and us sending it to us. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat!
