Welcome to the M3 Ranch, a working cattle ranch with a gorgeous newly renovated cottage, the perfect place for a relaxing and romantic getaway. Enjoy your morning coffee or late afternoon cocktail sitting on the front porch listening to and enjoying the breathtaking views of the Pigeon River and Smoky Mountains. Take a short stroll down to your private river access. In the evening enjoy the fire-pit, make s’mores, or dinner on the charcoal grill.

Activities abound year-round, hiking, fishing, tubing & rafting in spring, summer and autumn with snow skiing in the winter. If you are looking for outings, Asheville, Maggie Valley, Waynesville, Bryson City and Cherokee are just a short drive.

All the rooms in the private cottage have mountain views. The newly completed top-to-bottom renovation includes gas fireplace, luxurious bathroom with dual shower heads & jetted soaking tub. Primary bedroom has a queen bed, dresser and ample closet. The additional room has a futon, dressing table and wardrobe rack. All new appliances in the spacious kitchen and open dining room. We offer free wi-fi, washer & dryer, Roku live television, AC & heat.

Our stay at the cottage was amazing with a few things standing out. The cleanliness was outstanding, the shower and tub was wonderful, and the sounds of the beautiful river across the street put us to sleep every night. The property was conveniently located to the neighboring town of Waynesville and a short drive to Maggie and Cherokee. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone and wouldn’t think twice about staying here again.

Hands down the best place my wife and I have stayed. Couldn’t really find anything negative to say or even any constructive criticism. The host was very polite, she had even left us an arrival gift when we checked in; the bed had fresh sheets, plenty of fresh towels, they even supplied soap, shampoo, and conditioner in the AMAZING shower. Listening to the river was great as well. 10/10 would stay here again

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this property. We were welcomed with a bottles of wine and cookies, dog biscuits and hand warmers. How very thoughtful!!!! The house was clean and these city folk loved seeing the cows everyday. Molly was a phenomenal host. Don’t hesitant to stay here! We will be back!

From start to finish, the experience was pure bliss. The views were spectacular and pictures do not do it justice. The location and accommodations were amazing. The cottage was comfortable, super clean and had great amenities.

Wonderful getaway!

Truly a wonderful place to stay! 15 minuets from downtown waynesville with a private creek to play in and everything you could need in the home. The bathroom is luxurious!!!

If you are looking for a cozy and comfortable home to visit in the mountains of WNC, look no further! This property is within easy driving distance to Asheville, Waynesville, Maggie Valley, and Cherokee. We visited over the weekend and couldn't believe this little gem. The house is located right beside the river with picturesque surroundings in every direction. Amenities included a very large jacuzzi bathtub and a gas fireplace--which made the home even cozier. The house and property were very well maintained, and we had everything we needed to feel comfortable in our home away from home. As a side note, the house is situated right beside the highway--but don't let that deter you from visiting. There is VERY little traffic on the highway--but when cars did drive by, we couldn't even hear them inside the house. We highly recommend this property and hope to stay there again in the near future!Eddie and Elizabeth West

Perfect spot for scenic views and relaxing sounds of the river. Close enough to town for shopping and entertainment while still far enough away to be in God’s country. House was very clean with a comfortable bed, large shower/tub, spacious kitchen and everything you need for an enjoyable stay! We would highly recommend!

The cottage is on the Ranch property our parents established in 1986. Inspired by a trip to Scotland to explore Dad’s roots, they envisioned the Matheison Mountain Manor as a welcoming place to raise Scottish Highland cattle. Since then, M3 Ranch has seen the birth of many “hairy beasties.” While it remains a working ranch, Angus cattle now inhabit the pastures. Our mini Highland cattle, Buck and Bella, and their friend Happy, the miniature horse, represent the legacy of our parents’ dreams.
