Come relax in this stunning 2-story lakefront home with gradual frontage to the pristine waters of Minnehonk Lake in Mt. Vernon, Maine - part of the popular tourist destination of the Belgrade Lakes Region! Situated directly on the peaceful lake, this property has an open concept living room on its upper level that, due to the wall of windows and sliding glass door overlooking the lake, is a natural extension of the waterfront. Just steps away from the upstairs fully stocked modern kitchen and upstairs living area, you and your guests can grill and enjoy a family BBQ seated at the Polywood dining set (seats 6) or sit back with a beverage in hand on the Polywood Adirondack Chairs that rest atop the low-profile composite deck after a day of kayaking, swimming or fishing off the lakeshore dock. Kayaks (2), rods (2) / fishing tackle, life jackets (8), and floats (2) provided.

With 4 bedrooms (2 upstairs [king & double] and 2 at ground level [two twins & queen]), a futon sofa in the ground level, and 2.5 baths, there is plenty of room for up to 9 people. The ground level also offers beautiful views of the lake from its 4 large windows and sliding glass door. The 2-story configuration provides a layer of privacy for that second family, or the kids, to wind down and enjoy board games, the snack nook, and the second living area after a day in the sun, before an evening of s'mores around the campfire. The house is well stocked with linens, utensils, a grill, cooking appliances, cookware, a washer and dryer, and 3 large screen TVs to create a stress-free vacation. Our lakeside home is air conditioned (AC) and located down a quiet private dirt/gravel road that is a quick ride to town for lunch, an ice cream, supplies and other larger lakes, such as Long Pond, Great Pond and more!

Motorized boating, jet skiing, wonderful fishing, watersports, leaf peeping, ice fishing, hiking, mountain biking and snowmobiling are just a few of the activities you and your companions can enjoy at this location and the surrounding area. Titcomb Mountain is 25 minutes away, offering mountain biking, alpine and cross-country ski trails, too!

Our only suggestion would be to have additional cooking pans. We like to cook and has to improvise. Otherwise the house was very well equipped!

This is a family friendly spot that was well furnished and plenty to do. It was really nice that they had fire wood on site ad well as a couple kayaks, and even fishing poles. The road is a nice spot for a walk and in town was fairly close by.

Very nice house and property. Well maintained and stocked for all of your needs. Maybe black out curtains in the main bedroom to sleep in. The fishing dock and fire pit were great. Definitely recommend.

Lovely home and property. AC and shade when sitting by the water kept us comfortable despite being over 90 degrees every day. So many extras provided- shampoo and conditioner, hand soap, dishwashing liquid, life jackets, kayaks, float tubes, and plenty of dishes and silverware. Hosts responded very quickly to any questions. The best rental we have ever had.

Our stay in Mount Vernon was fantastic! The house was very comfortable with a well stocked kitchen and lots of beach and bath towels. We could have used another kayak or two (there were 8 of us and 2 kayaks) but other than that we wanted for nothing. Would definitely come again!

Beautiful camp

Has everything you could need for a family vacation, very clean and organized. Kids swam, kayaked and fished every day. Neighborhood is quiet, communication with owner was great. We hope to return!

Beautiful and well equipped home. Floor plan is great with separate downstairs space for families. Great for swimming, kayaking, fishing, and relaxing. Lovely views from both levels of the home.

Lake holiday

We spent about a week at this lovely, peaceful lake house. The house met all our needs. The owner communicated quickly and responsively regarding questions. The weather was beautiful and the loons enchanting. This home met all our expectations for our first Maine lake visit!

This house is just like the pictures, except better. Right on the lake, exceptionally clean, and very well stocked. The kitchen has everything a good cook would want or need, and the cookware is in excellent condition. We hope to return!

This was the perfect place to celebrate our son’s graduation from Colby. The house was spacious for our family and in a beautiful setting on the lake. We loved the fresh, natural decor in the house and appreciated the ease of arrival and departure (Thank you, Janice!) Definitely recommend this place! One note for future travelers—the biting black flies down by the water are relentless—use insect repellent!

Ice Fishing Getaway

We were a group of 6 men on our annual fishing trip. The rental did not disappoint, Owners were very attentive to our needs leading up to our visit. Home was well appointed, clean and came as advertised. Great Lake for fishing, caught trout, bass, cusk and perch. The eagle that hung around while we fished was an added bonus. Overall a great trip!!!

Perfect Maine Stay

We booked the house to celebrate the holidays with family from Maine. The house was perfect! Super clean, fully stocked kitchen with everything we needed and the right amount ofspace for 4 adults and two pre teens. The space was cozy and gave us the quintessential Maine LakE house vibe we Desired. The owners communication was amazing throughput the entire stay and after. We will surely rebook again, and again!

Minihonk Lake

We had a wonderful time in this cabin by the lake. Was well appointed and centrally located for our needs. Very quiet road and beautiful view of the lake. Beds were comfortable and kitchen had everything we could possibly need. Is about 35 minutes to Augusta and an hour and a half to Portland. Can highly recommend this VRBO.

Clean, quiet, well situated, picturesque. To enter there are 15 or so New England style steps to an upper landing. To go between levels, another interior set of the same. The weather on our trip was cool and rainy so we were not able to truly enjoy the spacious deck or the fire pit. The lake is crystal clear, the view from the deck and dock are a photographers delight. The best of rural Maine. Casting a gold spoon from the dock I caught a very nice trout, a few 12 inch small mouth black bass and even a small northern pike. All around sunset. For a quiet retreat in a welcoming space, cannot do much better.

Wonderful Memories on the Lake

We were introduced to the Belgrade Lakes 15 years ago when our daughter went to summer camp in the area. We've been going back ever since because of all the incredible Mainers we met over the years and because Maine really is its own kind of vacationland. The Guest House where we had stayed closed and we always wanted to rent our own place to continue visiting and to share with family and friends. This lake house was absolutely perfect for us. It was exceptionally clean upon arrival, all around it was a very comfortable living space, and important to us for hosting, the kitchen was well stocked with just about everything we needed. The Wifi was no problem for remote work. We never tired of the lake view and took full advantage of the kayaks and docks, as well as the campfire. Janice was super prompt in thoughtfully responding to any questions I had both before and after our arrival. Although "Scapes" the nearby cafe has deservingly become somewhat of a destination, the house is off the beaten path of the more touristy coast, so be sure to define what you want your stay to be. For us, the house was everything we wanted - and then more.

Great property for staying and swimming

Absolutely perfect stay here. The property is very well cared for and has any amenities you would want. Even the lower deck is well thought out to protect from the rain and sun...but you can still be outside to watch the storms. The way we vacation, the property is everything for us...we don't want to leave or go anywhere. THIS was the one for us. The water is very swimable, and our kids loved the floating dock, they were on it all day. Neighbors were a bit loud on a weekend day...but during the week, the whole area was really peaceful and enjoyable.

Our family has always enjoyed relaxing vacations centered around nature. We fell in love with this lake side home, recently purchased it, and decided to offer it to other families to enjoy. We've equipped it with the amenities we've always desired - Weber Grill, Polywood outdoor dining table and Adirondack Chairs, LL Bean & Garnett Hill bedding, kayaks, fishing gear, a fishing dock, a fully stocked kitchen and a beautiful low-profile deck - for relaxing and taking in the wonderful views. We hope you create as many memories here as we already have in our time owning it! It's a wonderful place in Maine, also known as Vacationland.
