When I went through the reviews for the Silver Smith Hotel there were mentions relating to wear and tear and other things. I dismissed them thinking people can be overly critical. Upon arrival I realized those reviews were spot on. The first room I was assigned had issues with a noisy AC and the neighboring room had a dog that continued to bark. The first room was the nicest, overall. The second room had a portable AC unit plugged in and was vented out the window. The widow is 5 stories above the train which is already loud. The final room had issues with the wall paper pealing off the wall and had a weird pony wall (for some reason) which broke the room up. But the bed was comfortable, the water was hot and the AC worked. There was a plumbing issue and maintenance took care of it (I think). The front desk people were very helpful and made sure I was pleased during my two night stay. The metro noise was apparent but wasn't terrible. I reminded me of rolling thunder or waves crashing.

I was not awarethe propertywasa hotel priortomy arrival. Thatwould have been helpful. This was my first using VRBO. Rhat may be your practice. Also, i did not expect to ha e the train running next to my bed.
