The Space:

Welcome to The Rustic Barn at Emerald Lakes Estate, a newly renovated retreat on 7 private acres just 20 minutes from historic St. Augustine, Florida. Blending rustic charm with modern comforts, this spacious and pet-friendly vacation rental is ideal for families, friends, and group getaways.

Great first time VRBO experience!

My Finacé and I stayed here for our wedding and this was my first time using Vrbo. The owners made it wonderful! Everything was clean and the property itself was beautiful, I plan to stay here again down the road. Owners were very nice and responded fast to any inquires we had. I highly recommend staying here if you want to stay somewhere on the outskirts of the city. It was very relaxing and peaceful.

Great QUIET Stay

Totally recommend a family stay here. Beautiful property and house renovation with a big coy pond stocked with hungry fish. Close to St Augustine and Mira Bella for shopping and food. My daughter loved the pool and sleeping upstairs by herself (until it got dark and the she shot downstairs to sleep with mom). My only recommendation for the owners are some extension cords to make outlet access easier. 10/10 stars!

Anniversary weekend

Perfect location to get away and celebrate our anniversary. We really enjoyed the outdoor entertainment area. Including having cocktails at the fire pit. The outdoor kitchen is a nice touch. The inside was very clean with a welcoming atmosphere. The refrigerator was well stocked with ice. We must say that the large sliding closets mirrors were the best. Need I say more. Thanks for having us!

Close to my family

I chose this place because of the location. It is about 2 minutes from where my family lives. When we got there we were blown away by how beautiful it was. It was a short trip and we never got a chance to get in the pool because it stormed. I don’t know what kind of mattresses were on the beds but it was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. I want to get one for my bed at home now. We will definitely be coming back.

We booked this property for a family of five during spring break due to its location and description of being newly renovated. Upon arrival, we found several broken items, including chairs, the kitchen trash can, the refrigerator water dispenser, microwave light, and two outdoor chairs. The unit was extremely dirty outside, and the inside was not as clean as expected for a Vrbo.The property claims to sleep 10, but there aren’t enough supplies or seating for that many people. The beds in the room with two beds are full size, not queen. There are two love seats, one of which is very worn. The kitchen lacked basic supplies like measuring cups and enough placeware for 10 people, and the pots and pans seemed second-hand.The exterior was very dirty, with filthy windows, wood-boring bees, wasp nests, and a gross outdoor kitchen. If you have issues with insects, this isn’t the place for you. We encountered several spiders and cockroaches, though it was rainy, which can drive bugs inside.I contacted the owners about the broken items, and they promptly brought water and two new stools. The owners were communicative, check-in was easy, and the WiFi was fast. The property grounds were nice.With a thorough deep cleaning and updates, this unit could be better. We left early, feeling we didn’t get what we paid for.

Our listing accurately describes the home's layout and sleeping arrangements. The property accommodates up to 10 guests and includes 2 queen beds, 1 full bed, and 4 twin beds, exactly as advertised and shown in our listing photos. We encourage guests to review the photos and description before booking to ensure the home is the right fit for their group. The kitchen is fully stocked for the advertised occupancy and includes cookware, measuring cups, utensils, and two complete sets of dinnerware and cutlery for 10 guests. Like most vacation rentals, dishes are intended to be washed and reused throughout a stay. During your first day, you let us know that one stool was wobbly. We responded immediately by bringing two replacement stools along with a complimentary case of bottled water to ensure you had everything you needed. We were surprised to later read that the property did not meet your expectations, as no further concerns were raised during the remainder of your week-long stay, which unfortunately gave us no opportunity to address them. As for the exterior, our home is located on a beautiful wooded property in Florida. We have regular professional pest control, but due to our natural surroundings and Florida's climate, occasional seasonal insects such as spiders, wood-boring bees, and wasps can sometimes be present outdoors, particularly after periods of rain. We appreciate your positive comments regarding our communication, easy check-in, fast Wi-Fi, and the beautiful grounds. We remain committed to providing an accurately represented, well-maintained home and a wonderful experience for every guest.

Great stay - read if someone in your party has mobility issues

We were very happy with this property. It was comfortable and the grounds were beautiful. Having neighbors was nice and it felt safe. The property next door has goats that we could see from our window, and there was a roosting crowing in the morning (it wasn’t too loud). The space worked for my family, but there are a few important things to note if you have young toddlers or mobility issues. The steps on the stairs are not equal height, and the landing meets a window, so if you were to fall, it would be possible to go through the window. The gaps in the banister were also quite wide and appeared to be 4”. The downstairs bathroom is elevated compared to the rest of the floor, and requires taking a step up to enter. The downstairs bedroom with two beds is sunken and requires going up a step and then down a few. The stairs would’ve made me nervous with a baby or young toddler. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

This place was a God sent place for us. I rent VRBO a couple of times a year and I have never seen this place. I am very grateful for the host Ali, she was very nice and accommodated our family. The Kitchen was big and had everything we need it. Rooms were clean.
