This cosy 2 bedroom cottage is located in the rustic village of Bathsheba St. Joseph. Beautiful vistas and a fresh Atlantic breeze welcome you to this peaceful area of Barbados. This is a surfers paradise, as you are directly in front of the surf break known as "Parlour" and a 2 min walk to the world famous "Soup Bowl".
Although the generally rough Atlantic waters are not suitable for swimming, there are stunning rock pools that are very safe and offer a totally different experience.
Ideal set up for couples, friends or family to enjoy a peaceful getaway, with the convenience of a minimart nearby, and numerous restaurants within walking distance.
We recommend renting a car for easy commuting, but if you prefer not to, there is a bus stop located in front of the property.

check in was very easy. The location is great, in between 2 excellent surfing sites. A major surfing event was on while we were there - great fun to watch.

Beach view was spectacular. The unit did not have AC appliances were rusty, No hot water, noisy Tiny TV no cable. Basic NO frills felt like we were camping!! Left a day early.

This is the second time we stayed here, and we will return- the view and patio can't be beat! This is a surfers paradise, basic, not at all fancy, 2 bed 1 bath, AC only in Bedrooms, but the air flow is great and the wind and surf keep you cool. There is a lot of salt spray (but this is what we love!) Comfortable beds. There is a washer (no dryer) which is helpful for towels. The check in and communication were great. This is definitely a "surfers pad" we stayed every night on our porch, watching the day fade with amazing waves at the front door and right by soup bowl! A few walkable casual eateries with great views (they do close early and closed some weekdays) make for options for dining without driving. Nearby tiny grocery shop - so you may want to stop for the bulk of your groceries on the way from the airport. Finally the owner can help you book board rental or lessons or a fishing excursion. We caught a 30# wahoo that we ate all week. Amazing. Don't bring a "spa loving high maintenance husband or wife" but this is a great spot for anyone that wants to look at waves and hang out and relax.

Surfers Paradise

This is a perfect surfers location. Beautiful surf directly across the street, the pictures are accurate, the neighbors are friendly and sitting on the porch watching the surf was heaven. It is not "fancy" - if you have a high maintenance American with you this will not be your rental, but if you want a perfect surf spot to enjoy the views and relax book it. The owner was accessible by What's app as was the car rental co. Be sure to stop for groceries before getting to Bathsheba (only a little market nearby very pricey) and walk to the local spots for meals (some are open on weekends only). We needed a car. On the island you will need GPS (google maps worked) - roads are not well marked. The owner of the VRBO set us up on a fabulous fishing trip - caught Wahoo, Mahi and Barracuda. Definitely recommend if you have the right group. We will be coming back.

The east coast is simply my favourite area on the island. There is a different energy to anywhere else on the island and the community spirit here, really shines through. Time spent on the east coast is always peaceful and relaxing, away from the hustle and bustle of the densely populated south and west coasts. The natural scenery, crisp Atlantic breezes and wild, untamed waters all come together to make a truly unforgettable experience.
There are numerous tidal/rock pools that provide sheltered areas safe for dipping in the ocean, as well as numerous restaurants serving the best local cuisine, all within walking distance of the property.
Other attractions such as botanical gardens, PEG farm and guided hikes are all within close proximity.

Unlike most properties on the east coast East View Cottage has airconditioned bedrooms and mosquito nets on all the doors and windows, providing a level of comfort, suitable for everyone. The kitchen is fully equipped, giving you a true home away from home feel and best of all is the proximity to the golden, sandy beaches of Bathsheba - literally footsteps from your front door :)
