Lighthouse Bungalow is a quaint country farmhouse with adjacent 4 acres (groomed) which allows guest the time to relax, refuel, and experience life in a private country setting. A great place to observe stars, wildlife, and a wonderful place to slow down from the fast pace of life. This vacation rental is in the Driftless Area of Southwest WI which has some incredible amenities to explore which are vastly different from other areas of Wisconsin.

This rental is very close to a large network of ATV/UTV trails in Lafayette and Grant County, WI.

Come Stargaze, enjoy a picnic, make smores, enjoy a campfire, sleep outdoors! There are apple trees, grape vines and asparagus on the property.

Visit the Tri-State area from this property; UW Platteville is 18 miles, Galena, IL is 22 miles, Dubuque IA is 26 miles, Madison WI is 1 hour and 20 minutes away.
Enjoy the 4 local State Parks; Gov. Dodge is 33 miles, Yellowstone is 27 miles, Wylusing is 61 miles, and Nelson Dewey is 44 miles. Don't forget, we are 20 miles from the Mississippi River, you can fish from the O'Leary Lake or on the Mississippi River!

Our location is conveniently located in the heart of farm country southwest Wisconsin. You can take your boat out to the lake and return home to a quiet setting with your family for the rest of the evening! Yellowstone Lake is closest to this location.

This is our go to place every summer! The farmhouse is clean,comfortable and close to many small towns. We love the rural setting as it is so peaceful.Bob and Elaine are gracious hosts who make sure we have everything we need. The lighthouse is amazing and the views are spectacular!

Peaceful, remote getaway

This property had so much to offer- peaceful sounds of the countryside; spacious outdoors for our dog and us to run, walk, and play yard games; lots to do including climbing the lighthouse and playing ping pong; plenty of inside sleeping options; and wonderful hosts who quickly respond. This was our fourth time renting this place, and we plan to do it again next year.

End of the year getaway

Really enjoyed this typical cozy Wisconsin farmhouse. The owners were easy to communicate with and responsive. Loved the silo that was converted into a lighthouse. It’s a clean property and well worth the visit!

Family reunion

We had a family reunion in Benton and booked this place because it was nearby and we were intrigued by a lighthouse in the middle of corn fields. The house is comfortable and the grounds were lovely. It was so relaxing to stay there.

We made wonderful memories!

We had a wonderful time at during a long weekend. The lighthouse and the large yard was a great for the kids - 5 through 16 - to explore! We were able to bring our dog and the the fully functional kitchen made the trip even better!

Great stay at the Lighthouse Bungalow

This property worked great for family overflow coming to Cuba City for high school graduation. The house was clean and the kitchen and bathrooms were well apportioned. The yard is very spacious and well maintained and the lighthouse was a hit with the kids. Communication with the owners and property manager was fast and helpful. The only difficulty we had was putting the address in the GPS which took us to the wrong location. When we searched for Lighthouse Bungalow, however, Google found it immediately and took us right to the property.

Peaceful, open-spaced retreat

Robert (Bob) Carns originally bought this property in 1999 for his future place of retirement. He had lived here up until October of 2018 and then moved to an acreage near Dickeyville after his marriage to Elaine. He has a very strong tie to this property and has done a lot of work fixing up the house and adjacent buildings and has turned an old cement silo into the current Lighthouse and does not want to sell the property. Instead, Bob and Elaine work effortlessly to maintain the Lighthouse Bungalow and preserve it's attributes.
The rental property has been in the works for awhile. Bob's daughter Nina is the former property manager, and we regret to announce that she suddenly passed away.
She loved this property and will truly be missed by family and the many folks she interacted with when she managed this property (since 2020).

This property is in the heart of a large farming community. Peaceful and enchanting, creating a wonderful get-a-way! This property is the true definition of a country setting. Ath the top of the Lighthouse you can see for many miles in each direction. This area centers between several main cities, attractions and is not far from the Madison Airport. You can enjoy a day at the lake, be a tourist in Galena, visit the River Museum in Dubuque, travel to the zoo in Madison or just kick back and relax in the countryside. The tri-state area (Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa) has much to offer your free time.
