Elite historic Atherton estate centrally located and 2.4 miles from stadium.
Wake up and grab dunkin donuts across the street and sip your coffee by one of the many oversized windows while watching the willow tree blow in the backyard breeze or sit on the covered porch and revel in how this property is remarkably quiet for sitting directly and conveniently on Atherton street. The interior is a retro time capsule, so well-preserved it's character has outlasted any cheap trend. *Update: The retro stove in the kitchen has been repaired as well as the electricity in the master bedroom. The quirks of old houses come with surprises, I will always do my best to address these or find solutions to accommodate, but if you want new and modern this is not the place for you.*
Great location, great yard, but the house is not functional.
We rented this house to attend a PSU football game. The location is perfect and the spacious yard is great and came in handy. We had our family staying with us. The house is large and can hold a lot of people. It is an “historic home” so we expected quirks, but the quirks were plentiful and made our stay challenging. The kitchen was not usable for a larger group. The stove/oven didn’t work. There was only a hot plate and toaster oven. One of the bedrooms and its adjoining bathroom had no lights and no window treatments making it virtually impossible to sleep given the traffic light outside the window. Windows were sealed shut, the first floor bathroom had restrictive use. Given what we paid to stay there the accommodations were less than desirable.

Good Location, Missing Amenities
The location of this property is nice if you are looking to stay a bit away from the bustle downtown. It also has a fantastic outdoor space if you are looking to spend time outside.
Unfortunately, there were several issues with the property that were serious detractors from the enjoyment of our stay.
First and foremost the oven is a 1950 vintage model that does not work. We were warned by the property owner that it was actually a fire hazard to try and use it. Secondly, the master bedroom did not have any electricity to it which made that bedroom unusable. Finally, the television on the property (which was a part of the listing) did not work at all.
The owner did their best to offer alternatives, but these issues should have been made clear on the listing itself.
