Birthday get away

The downstairs apartment Was hard to get to and somewhat dangerous we are older and my husband uses a cane and a walker. The room was pretty chilly which was surprising for this time of year. Not owners fault we enjoyed our stay was relaxing the heating was a little confusing we used a small heater in the evenings. Could use a cook top or griddle for cooking but sure that’s not everyone’s concern. Thank you for a great birthday. I only make some of these comments because I had a B&BW for twenty years. Exhausting

Sleep optional....

When we arrived, the place was freezing. We contacted management. They quickly replied, said it's controlled by the tenants upstairs and to use the electric fireplace, which we did. That worked. The overhead lights do not, so lighting (including a lamp with a red bulb) is very poor. The outside also had tarps, lattice and such strewn on the walkway, so be careful as you enter. I want to preface the rest of the review with the fact that the management company was always very quick to respond to our concerns. For that, we were very grateful. However, I will warn you that if you intend to sleep when staying here, that will not be something that occurs if there are tenants upstairs. We are large family parents. To say we are used to noise is an understatement. The first set of tenants had children who kept us up until after midnight the first night. After a second warning by management, the other night was better. However, you can hear EVERY word of every conversation, regardless, even with sound machines on. The other night was equally as awful as the first. The adult tenants were very loud well after midnight. They did not listen to management's two calls to them and finally quieted down after we confronted them. This property is not nearly as insulated as other basement rentals we have stayed in. It is NOT ideal for two sets of occupants. If you want to sleep, this is not the property for you.

Nice space with nearby trails

We were visiting family nearby and this place was great for what we needed. It has a lovely back yard space and great trails a block away. The only small issue was that the temperature control for the studio is at the mercy of the upstairs unit. It was cooler than we like in the evening from the ac and then warmer during the night as the heat kicked in! There is an elec fireplace and portable ac for the studio but we just opened the window at night to contract the heat LOL. Otherwise it isn’t fancy but is clean and convenient. Hosts are great.
