Welcome to our retreat the Emerald Den! Escape the daily demands of life, among the trees and shoreline of beautiful Lewis Smith Lake. A location that provides all the modern comforts of home - open living space, full kitchen, washer/dryer, Wifi , with the opportunity to unplug and enjoy the serenity of lake life.
The Den provides plenty of room for families or friends to spread out. Lighted stairs lead down to a large floating dock with power, swim ladder and year round water, offers everything you need for a memorable getaway and unforgettable vacation.
You will be close to plenty of dining, shops, and activities just 15 minutes from the city of Cullman,. If you're looking to venture further, Huntsville and Birmingham are both about an hour away.
• Bedrooms: 3 bedrooms (1 king, 1 queen, 1 twin over full bunk and day bed), plus a cozy loft.
• Bathrooms: 2 full bathrooms, stocked w/ towels and essentials.
• Waterfront Paradise: Enjoy direct lake access w/ your private boat dock and swimming area.
• Outdoor Living: Sip your morning coffee on the spacious back porch w/ stunning lake views.
• Entertainment: The loft is perfect for family game nights, and a smart TV with streaming options is available.
• Kitchen: Fully-equipped kitchen with modern appliances for all your cooking needs.
• Outdoor Activities: Cast a line and fish from the dock, swim in the clear waters, or explore the lake by boat. Smith lake park and boat launch 10 min away
• Location: Conveniently close to movie theaters, bowling alleys, shopping centers, putt putt ( in season) , water park ( in season), Starbucks, restaurants and 3 different groceries for your convenience 15 minutes away.

Please note - for security purposes there are external cameras with audio/video on the property. All cameras are pointed away from the house and only cover the outside of the home.

The host was welcoming and responsive prior to our arrival. The home was spacious and kitchen well supplied. Setting was beautiful and the loft room was a nice space to chill. There were some areas that could use a little TLC in and around the home (caulking and tile work in showers, walls painted, leaf management in driveway and parking area), but overall a very nice place.

Had to cancel when arrived due to not being cleaned from the prior tenant. I did get a full refund and the process was seamless. The owner offered to put us up for the night, however we declined and found another house on the lake. We had just traveled 6 hours with 3 young children.

Great vacation!

We enjoyed our stay! The home was beautiful and well stocked. Although there were a lot of stairs to the water, it was a quiet and peaceful cove once on the dock. The driveway was large enough to accommodate our boat and vehicle. Overall, a good experience!

Girls trip

The cabin is very large and spacious with all kinds of things to do nearby with a great view of the lake. The only issue we had was ice maker froze over so I had to buy ice. The owner told me where to go and gave us a discount as well which was very nice. I would suggest adding baking casserole dishes to the well stocked kitchen. I did alot of cooking while there so that was the main thing needed that they didn't have. Easy to find and super nice owners left us a goody basket with lots of treats!! Would stay here again! Thanks for sharing your place with us!!

Location was perfect at the end of a cul de sac. House was new and clean. If you can handle the stairs down to the lake this place is for you.

Enjoyable stay

Chad was super responsive to all of our questions. We had everything we needed during our stay. Having a dock was great . We spent a day playing in the water and another on the lake with a rented boat. It was super convenient to be able to pull up to the dock and go check on our dog and grab a few things although the stairs are not for the faint at heart. We saw them as our daily exercise. Wonderful family reunion

We rented the home for out of town relatives for a family reunion since our lake home is nearby. The home was clean and kitchen well stocked. Grandkids slept in bunk room and loft. Everyone enjoyed staying at the lake home.

Wonderful Stay

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Emerald Den. The lake house and location were very nice. Staying on a lake is a very pleasant experience. Quick family get away

My first ever VRBO experience and I couldn’t have picked a better place. The hosts were amazing and super quick to reply with anything we needed. We had a nice little welcome treat and a card thanking us for booking. It’s the little things that mean the most. Very quiet and comfy stay. Will def be booking the Emerald Den again!

Lovely mid-week stay!

We stayed at The Emerald Den for a quick, last minute get-away for our kid’s fall break and had the best, most relaxing time. The hosts had everything you might need available in the home and the lake was gorgeous. We spent most of our time fishing and kid’s swimming off the dock and it was just so relaxing! It was our first time at Smith Lake and most certainly won’t be our last!

We decided to build the Emerald Den for our family and friends for a multitude of reasons, all rooted in our desire to create a space that would foster togetherness, relaxation, and unforgettable memories. Our was to have a place where we could spend quality time with our family and closest friends. Life can get busy, and we wanted a sanctuary where we could escape the daily grind and strengthen our bonds. We are delighted to share this with you and hope you get the same joy we do visiting the Den!
