Spacious studio suite directly on Potrero beach with ocean view. Full kitchen and living room space. The suite sleeps up to 3 persons (2 adults and 1 child). Beautiful pool and expansive garden, paddle boards and kayaks. Garden gate opens directly onto soft sand Potrero beach. Potrero bay has gentle waves, gradual sloped entry to water and is wonderful for swimming, paddle boarding, fishing and colorful sunsets. Full kitchen and living room, Wi-fi, concierge service and housekeeping service included. Short walk to nearby bars, restaurants, cafe and grocery store. 4 door Jeep Wrangler and 6 seat golf cart available to rent. This rental unit is one of three rental units on the property, please inquire if interested in renting the entire property.

Our first visit to Costa Rica did not disappoint! The vistas, food, people, pace, flora & fauna - all spectacular. Villa Elysian Sol was the perfect accompaniment to our visit. Well-appointed, clean, convenient & very comfortable. The pool and proximity to the beach, a 5 minute stroll to restaurants, cafes and bodegas and beautiful nightly sunsets right outside our front door - all made for a memorable experience. Arturo and Catalina couldn’t have been more helpful. Incredibly responsive, professional & personable. We highly recommend and encourage any Costa Rica visit to include a reservation at Villa Elysian Sol.

We worked primarily with Arturo, who was an absolute gem—gracious, attentive, and genuinely committed to making sure we were having a great time.The room itself was perfect for two people: clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. It does have a futon that could technically sleep one or two more, but it would be a very snug arrangement with zero privacy.That said, we didn’t come here to hibernate in the room—and you probably wouldn’t want to either. The location is unbeatable: steps from the beach, a short drive to the marina, tons of restaurants, a grocery store, and other beaches. Whether you’re someone who likes to be in the thick of things or you just want to bounce between the sand and the pool all day, this spot delivers. Highly recommend if you want convenience, beach access, and that laid-back coastal vibe without any pretension.

The property was even better than the photos! Arturo and his sidekick Paco were welcoming and provided us with all the information we needed for a wonderful stay! A short walk along the beach and you have restaurants, market, coffee shop and bakery. We were there for 9 days and found the apartment kitchen well stocked for cooking. Very secure grounds, felt very safe. You do need a car to go beyond the small town….5 minute drive to Flamingo Beach but the beach at your doorstep is beautiful and not crowded at all!

A wonderful beachfront property. It has very well-designed pool that you can do laps or just soak. The garden is kept implacably well. The host is very polite and helpful.We truly enjoyed our stay.

The location is excellent. We could walk a few minutes down the beach and be at casual restaurants, bars and the dive shop we used (Under the Sea- also fantastic). The condo had everything we needed, was clean, comfortable and the outside pool area is gorgeous. The property is completely gated all around so we had no security concerns. The property manager was on site and so very nice and helpful. We loved everything about it! Beautiful sunsets from the condo was a plus!

Honeymoon

My favorite stay during our honeymoon. The property is right on the beautiful beach. They have kayaks you can use during your stay. We experienced beautiful sunrises and sunsets here. It was so nice being able to walk on a beach not cluttered with so many tourists. We mostly saw locals working out on the beach or going on their morning walk with their coffee. It was a very beautiful and relaxing stay. Everything was very clean. Arturo the property was amazing. Very helpful with local recommendations. Hospitality 10/10. Can’t wait to visit here again

Perfect location on Potrero beach

Potrero is our go to spot and this accommodation is the best so far. The property manager Arturo was there to meet us at check-in and was always available whenever we had questions. The unit had everything we needed but was also within walking distance of all of the best restaurants. The added bonus of being able to step out on the beach in the morning was the highlight of the stay.

Costa Rica #1

First time to Costa Rica! Our VRBO was awesome! Yard and pool very well kept! Safety never a worry! Kitchen had everything we need with full size fridge which came in handy when we needed to freeze our fish to take home! Space was small, but we spent most of our time there either on the patio , by the pool or walking on the beach! The manager was very helpful. Great place to stay!

Great Place

Nice location, beautiful beach and sunsets with well appointed villas. Lots of fun things to do in mostly natural experiences.The only thing for us was the check in was difficult because the property manager wasn't there to meet us to let us in the gate and let us know the information about the villa and its functions. We didn't see the text he sent that he would not be there but nobody was there to meet us. After awhile one of the maintance guys came to let us in. An informational packet would have been very useful. Also, the first few days we were there, one of the other occupants keep having people over to use the pool and take over the property that were not staying there. These were minor things and our overall experience was good.

Small but nice.

This property has three units. The units are in the back of the property and the pool (great pool) is right off the beach. There is a resident iguana that hangs around the palms by the pool. The units are small, but have everything you need. We stayed in one of the upper units which gave us a lovely view for breakfast in the morning and cocktails in the evening. The only negative we would have is there is not a lot of space to put your clothes away.

Great View and Location

We had a great stay. The view and beach access were perfect, we could walk the beach to the local restaurants. The accommmodation's were clean and the bed was comfortable. We would definitely stay again!

Everything was great

A great property we definitely will try to get back to as soon as this year. Right on the beach (that is never crowded). There are three suites between two houses that you share the pool with - but everyone we met there was awesome and it is great to swap tips on what to do and where to go with them. So, the shared pool is actually a benefit. The people who run the place are great. Arturo is responsive and really helpful as the Property Manager. And they have folks to do the housecleaning and pool in frequently. Owner was very responsive to my many questions (as was the Property Manager). And they have toys! Kayaks and paddleboards, etc. are available. We have friends who stayed close but at another property - they paid less but were not on the beach and toys were extra - so they told us they would rather have stayed here - I probably should mention the views too... Lots of positives about this place. Things, as a traveler, to know: - If you a bigger family you could probably rent a few suites. Each suite is perfect for two (and one could take a small family of four I guess) but if you all want to be, as a bigger group, together that won't work - You should get transportation - the villa rents a golf cart and car so, that is really helpful - Potrero is not your white sand beach (but not many in CR are). But, Flamingo is nearby if you have transportation Great stay. Any concern or issue (no matter how minor) was addressed quickly. 5 stars and more!

Picture perfect Costa Rica!

Potrero Bay is truly a gem. This area is authentic Costa Rica with the bonus of Villa Elysian, a modern and manicured property, popped in the middle of paradise. The host and property manager were amazing. They helped arrange our pick up and return to and from the airport so the trip couldn’t have been any more carefree. We took advantage of the Jeep, available for rental from our host, for a few short excursions, we loved the day trip to Tamarindo. There are several restaurants and bars that are an easy walk via the beach from the property. We rented the golf cart which was a blast to tool around in. We took the cart up the coastline to explore a beach one bay up, this isn’t your grandpa’s golf cart. The property manager helped put some special experiences together for us. He helped arrange for a couples massage on property, pool side. It was incredible with the ocean sounds in the background, but in the privacy of the gated property. An absolute “would highly recommend” and “would rent again”.

Paradise!

Villa Elysian is simply beautiful. I stayed in the Luna Suite which was spacious and has a wonderful view over the property and beach. It is perfect to just walk out onto the beach for morning or evening walks. The lap pool is one of the nicest you will find…sun and swimming after the beach walks! I recommend a rental car if you plan to be out and about (you can have that delivered to the Villa). But Surfside is less than a 5 minute walk along the beach so it is manageable without a car if you are spending time at the pool and beach like I was. Perfect location. I can’t wait to visit again!

Fabulously getaway

Excellent experience. Property is well maintained. Arturo the manager is very knowledgeable about where to go and what to do. Staff is very nice. It’s only a few minutes walk to the small town of Protrero, with a range of restaurants, bars (with bands) and small shops for whatever you need.
