Rustic Maine cottage on the banks of the Damariscotta River with dock and river access. A historic, classic New England area with fresh seafood and produce abound -- plus many outdoor activities to enjoy. The property is downtown, a short walk to the charming twin villages of Newcastle and Damriscotta in mid-coast Maine. Many excellent restaurants and artisan shops are nearby. For getting outdoors -- hiking, kayaking, boating, beach and other ocean activities. There are also beautiful lakes and estuarine waters all around.

This is an amazing location, right on the river and very close to everything, shops restaurants etc. I really enjoyed my stay.

Exactly what we were looking for, on the water, close to restaurants, big deck with beautiful views down the river!

Thanks John. I just completed the reciprocal rating and all were entered as 5 star and yet came up differently? I’ll reach out to Vrbo… Let me know if you’re interested in staying next year/season. Perfect spot! Comfortable accommodations and great host! Enjoyed yoga on the dock, SUP/yoga on the river and walking to shops and restaurants. Best kept secret in the area! We will be back for sure!

Quaint waterside cottage

Perfect for those looking both to have walking access to Damariscotta and have an oceanside location. The stay we booked was during the winter holiday and cottage was very cozy - including a wood stove (although we did not use). Would definitely recommend!

Unique spot on the Damariscotta River

The location was fabulous overlooking Damariscotta riverside. Easy walk to restaurants and shops. Fabulous view of boats on the river. Charming and rustic. Good central location to drive to other sights in mid coast Maine.

Maine Getaway

The house was very accommodating and perfect for the 4 of us! It was clean and comfortable and close to town. Comfy beds, nice views. We enjoyed time on the deck and the dock. Only suggestions may be to have access to a toaster and microwave. Communication with the owner was great-positive, helpful and very responsive!

We loved our week long stay at the cottage. The views are spectacular! Perfect location for walking to shops and restaurants! We took a boat ride for a day trip to Monhegan Island and also went to the Botanical Gardens! Recommend the lobster rolls at Schooners across the river but every restaurant we went to was fantastic!! The sandwiches at Fernald’s country store are great also!!! We attempted the Van Gogh puzzle but didn’t start it early enough!! Maybe next year !!

Location!

We had an excellent time, and the best part of this property was its location! Never had to deal with traffic except to go to other towns. Shops and restaurants are steps away. Enjoyed the deck and dock. It's not fancy, but it is comfortable and clean. Probably not the best option for families with small children due to its proximity to the water and lack of outdoor 'play space' however, it is perfect for relaxing adults. We'd stay here again--who knows? maybe this fall! 😊

Fantastic location and cozy accomodations

Had a great stay at the cottage. Although the building is rustic, the amenities (eg, hot water heater, washer, dryer, etc.) are great and high quality. Owner was responsive and helpful (eg, when we noticed there wasn’t a lobster pot, when the awning ripped during high winds, etc.) Getting access to the cottage was seamless and easy to get situated. It was so nice to quickly walk to town and visit restaurants and shops. The location also offers easy driving access to both points on either side of the town. One nice addition for the future would be a close out guide. I felt like I cleaned and did everything well before departing but it would be nice to have a checklist so I know I hit all the marks. Thanks so much and hope to visit again soon!

The location is superb, the back deck has a great awning to protect from the sun. The bar across the river closes early so no late noise. The river, the dock, the view—all wonderful. The house is also convenient to restaurants. I would just make a few suggestions—potential improvements-mostly minor that would make living a little easier. The beds should be made up with pillows. It took us a day or so to realize pillows for the twin beds were in a closet. A luggage rack or more hooks would not go astray. Also a gentle suggestion that it might be time to replace the twin mattresses.All in all, we stayed five days and enjoyed it
