Welcome to The Shore House!

This historic home is located on Lake Erie in Huron, Ohio. It is the ONLY lake front home with a cozy outdoor front porch, gas fire table and a large upper balcony to enjoy the beautiful view; make lasting memories and sit back...relax! Morning coffee, afternoon lemonade and evening cocktails will never be the same! The view continues inside the home with a wide-open floor plan boasting large windows facing Lake Erie allowing lots of light to fill this home while everyone gathers to visit, play games, enjoy a celebration or steal away to a nook and just relax.

The Shore House has 4 bedrooms, a 3rd floor loft for kids with folding couches (listed as "Office 1"), 3 full bathrooms & 2 living/sitting areas! The living room connects to the kitchen and dining room where you'll have many conversations and activities. The family room is together with the gaming area which has a foosball table, games, beverage refrigerator, a high-top table with 2 chairs and a table with 4 chairs to use for laptops, games or an additional eating area. The kitchen is completely stocked with all of your needs. There are so many different spaces to spread out in this home, that you'll never feel crowded!

Additional amenities include smart TVs, gas grill, beach chairs, bikes, beach towels, a highchair and a pack & play! We have basketballs, cards, games & puzzles. You'll find a book niche where you can take a book, leave a book, relax & enjoy!

The PRIVATE neighborhood Rye Beach Park across the street has benches, picnic tables, grills, fire pit, playground, swimming beach area (where you can also launch your kayak or paddleboard), fishing, disc golf net & a basketball court!

The driveway has parking for 2 vehicles and a 3rd vehicle fits on the adjacent concrete parking pad. Additional daytime parking is available along the park in front of the house. Additional overnight parking is 1 block away on Lakewood Ave.

The Shore House is within walking distance to restaurants and stores. It's about a 10 to 15 minute drive to Cedar Point, Great Wolf Lodge & Kalahari Resort & Spa (indoor water parks), Goofy Golf (mini golf, go-karts, arcades), Sports Force Park (tournaments), Sheldon Marsh Nature Preserve (walking trial right to Lake Erie), The Huron Boat Basin Marina & Amphitheater (public boat launch), Andrew Fabens Park (baseball, tennis, pickleball), Nickel Plate Beach (sandy, beach volleyball, lighthouse view), Old Woman's Creek Nature Preserve & Estuary (hiking trails, Barrier Beach) and much more!

Also close by are many wineries, golf courses, farmers' markets, islands (Put in Bay, Kelly's & Middle Bass) and more!

We offer self-check in/keyless entry.

We have been the owners of The Shore House since the end of 2023. The previous owners were on Vrbo for many years. We've kept up the exceptional service and amenities you've come to enjoy!

The home is as listed, in a quiet part of Huron. Owner is extremely prompt with communication from check in to out. Parking limited for larger multiple vehicles but doable.

Great location! We came for my daughter’s birthday which consisted of Kalahari & Cedar Point. Very easy drive to both places as well as any restaurants or grocery stores. The house itself was clean and fully stocked in the kitchen and bathrooms. Our only issue was the heat. It’s definitely a home where the heat rises and you can feel it, especially in the top kids loft. There’s small fans in the rooms but those were not enough at times. But a really great place! Especially for a family with kids. Park and water access right outside!

this house has LOTS of stairs throughout its rather odd 'vertical' architecture, but the place is kind of cool for that same reason .. it has a super comfortable porch with multiple ways to sit and enjoy .. the house is in a very nice neighborhood, but with not very much parking .. between the house and the lake is a pleasant public park with shade, benches, picnic tables, BBQ grills and such .. the beach was a little disappointing with a bit of an industrial feel rather than a wide-open summer fun feel like Outer Banks or Waikiki (I know, pretty high standard)

We had a large group: 12 adults/children. This home provided everything you would need to entertain. What is unique about this property is the kitchen provided you with all essentials to cook, the bedrooms are comfortable, plenty of towels and bathroom essentials are provided. The home had several areas to hang out and the owners provide games, in addition to bikes in the shed. We will definitely be back!

Overall, this was a great place to stay. Great view of Lake Erie, playground, fun house for kids with 3 levels. Lots of room for large gatherings. Able to step outside and play, swim, or fish without having to drive. Nickel Plate Beach nearby was very nice for a bigger beach. Short drive to or from Cedar Point. We had a great time! The only complaint was that the outside trash containers were full upon our arrival. But the owner got back to us quickly.

This house is perfect for a large family. The shower in the bathroom on the first floor with the laundry room was very small, but the exrtra large bathroom upstairs more than made up for it! Having the high chair and pack and play was super helpful and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need!! The family also loved playing foosball when it was rainy. We did enjoy being able to go down to the beach and to the playground too!! Would recommend this VRBO house! It worked out perfectly for us. And Ruthann was super easy to contact and responded VERY quickly to questions!

Shore house stay

The Shore House is an older home but furnished with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The porches were incredibly comfortable. The loft rooms were exciting for our five children (12 and under) to play in but the spiral staircase was a little too hard for them to maneuver at night for restrooms so we kept them on the second floor, much to their disappointment. Beautiful park across the road with playground completed the week.

Accurate description of house, well equipped for our Thanksgiving feast! We enjoyed the location to Lake Erie and proximity to playground, as well for grandkids. Would stay again!

Amazing Property

Great experience, the house is turn key and ready to go and when I say turn key this place has it all, if you are visiting just bring your food they have thought of everything. Huge props to the owners would recommend to anyone visiting the Sandusky area to book in here. You are only 15 minutes to Cedar Point so don't fret about being to far away.

We absolutely loved this property. Impressed with all the dishes and cooking pots and pans available to use. Beds were comfortable. Loved the Nautical decor. Our only issue was the weather was cool and damp, not a fault of the house at all. We will definitely consider this location when we vacation again.

Halloweekends!

We had a wonderful stay, Very beautiful historic home. The upgrades and views are absolutely stunning. Toiletries were fully stocked! we didn't even need to bring our own. Besides food You name it, Its there. Nice and spacious/cozy. The mattress on main floor could use an upgrade In size and comfort tho. Host was very pleasant to work with prompt. We spent time at Cedar Point and it was a nice quick beautiful ride along the coast
