Helman House and Cottages ~ Old Ashland Charm, Short Walk to the Plaza

★HOME OVERVIEW★
One and a half blocks away from Main St. on a quiet, tree-lined street you’ll find old-Ashland charm in the Helman House and Cottages. Convenient to the many theaters—including the world-renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival—boutique shops, award winning wineries, and restaurants Ashland is famous for, The Helman House is a home away from home for visitors eager to experience all Southern Oregon has to offer.

Your reservation will include the Helman House and two cottages behind the house (sleeps 16).

★SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS★

We can sleep 16 total!

Front House Bedroom 1: King Bed, ensuite bathroom with walk in shower
Front House Bedroom 2: 2 Queen beds. This bedroom is up a narrow staircase and has no door.
Front House Living Room: Queen fold out couch
There is another full bathroom with bathtub off of the kitchen

Studio A: King Bed and Queen fold out couch and ensuite bathroom with bathtub
Studio B: King Bed and Queen fold out couch and ensuite bathroom

★LIVING AREA★
Relax on our sofas and stream your favorite shows on our Smart TVs (Roku). Enjoy access to Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, and Apple TV by simply entering your password. There are 3 TVs total. One in each unit.

★KITCHEN★
The kitchen in the front house is perfect for simple meal prep when you need a night in. You'll find all your basics to get breakfast, lunch or dinner on the table. Enjoy a 2-in-1 coffee maker with both Keurig and drip options. Each studio is equipped with its own efficient kitchenette so you can have a cup of coffee before joining the rest of the group!

★BATHROOMS★
There are 4 full bathrooms total including 2 bathtubs (Front house and Studio A). Towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided.

★LAUNDRY ROOMS (yes, plural!)★
There is a full sized washer and dryer in the bathroom in the front house and another one in studio A!

★PARKING★
There are 2 off street parking spaces reserved for you behind the house as well as ample street parking.

★FRONTYARD★
Enjoy a cup of coffee on our Adirondack chairs while people watching or a quick bite on our table for 4 on the front porch.

★RESTAURANTS & BARS★
The best of the best on the Ashland Plaza is a 6 minute walk away!

★HEATING & AC★
The main house has a central heat and AC. The studios are equipped with window units that have both heat and AC.

Perfect for a multi-party or family gathering, the Helman House and Cottages provide comfort and convenience for all.

Please note that the wall shared by both studios is relatively thin as far as soundproofing goes.
Please Note: The water heater is shared between Studio A and Studio B. While it generally provides sufficient hot water for both units, there may be occasional delays in hot water recovery if multiple showers are taken back-to-back. We recommend spacing out showers when possible for the most comfortable experience.

For safety, there is a ring doorbell at the front door. It is active 24/7. Video and sound recording is motion activated. The home is also equipped with a decibel monitoring sensor located inside and outside of the home. It is 100% privacy compliant and is required on this property. Tampering with or disabling the ring doorbell and noise monitoring sensor will immediately cancel the reservation.

There is a pet fee of $150 (up to 2 pets)

We love welcoming well-behaved pets to our property! To help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, we kindly ask that all pets be kept on a leash when outdoors and not left unattended in shared areas.

- The minimum age to rent is 21
- No smoking
- Garden maintenance occurs on Fridays. Our team ensures the garden remains in excellent condition for your enjoyment.

Cancellation Policy: 50% refund up until 60 days prior to arrival. No refund if cancelled within 60 days.

Unapproved late checkouts will incur an additional charge of $300.

The location and private parking made our trip very convenient. It was walking distance from many delicious restaurants and coffee shops. The layout of the house makes it a great option for families or a group of friends. Our kids loved that there were games there.

Overall the house plus the duplex apartments are a unique set-up close to downtown. However it feels neglected and in need of updating, An example of lack of attention was the cable to internet switch which was obviously not thought-through since it was password blocked from getting any major channel-apps onto Roku in order to sign-in. Overall if you are looking for value its good but it feels forgotten by the owners.

Our family loved everything about our stay! The location is less than half a mile to the OSF--we felt safe and comfortable walking, even after the plays ended around 11PM, back to the Helman House. We appreciated that the lights were labeled and check-in/out/entry was so easy. We appreciated the roominess of the property, A/C, and provision of ample towels and bedding. We loved the uber comfortable beds and furnishings--which were not overcrowded nor sparse--everything was just right for our four-day, three-night stay.

Ashland weekend

The house and studios were perfect for my 4 friends and myself. The location was amazing and we could walk to most of our destinations. I highly recommend staying at this house.

Great Location in Ashland

The Helman Street Guest Houses were a great retreat for our family's multi-generational family vacation. We had three families meet up and use the main house and two studios for our spring break. There was plenty of space for the nine of us and our dogs. The location was wonderful and was a quick walk to the main downtown area. Communication was easy with Sylvie and they were always quick to respond. We would love to come back to the Helman House for a future family vacation!

Great Location & Gracious Hosts

We really enjoyed staying at the Helman House Mega! Lots of space for extended families and walkable to downtown Ashland, Lithia Park and wonderful restaurants. Great off street parking, nice soaking tub in separate bath and W/D on site. Great communication from hosts, easy check in and out. A great place to spread out with extended family.

Cozy, comfy, perfect home for our very large group!

The Helman House (Mega) was the absolute perfect home for our stay in Ashland. We are a group of eleven 25-45 year old women going through a certification program and our teacher is in Ashland. It took us so long to find the perfect place for us to stay in Ashland as our group is so big. We really wanted to stay together, close to downtown Ashland, and this house made that possible. The beds were all so comfortable, the living room was perfect for having our circles in, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the bathrooms were great. Both of the two apartments were well furnished and just as lovely as the main house. Sylvie (the owner) and Kat (her PA) were wonderful hosts and we are so grateful we stayed here. We will absolutely stay here again next time we come together in Ashland!
