Accidental Damage Protection: A non-refundable accidental damage protection plan has been included in the price of your reservation. Under this plan, you will not be held responsible to pay for accidental damage or loss to the rental property resulting from you or others in your party up to $2000. This plan does not cover intentional acts of a guest, gross negligence, or willful and wanton conduct, and/or damages caused by pets. This plan is not available for reservations 28 days or longer or reservations that require a security deposit.

This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.

Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.

There is nothing more important to us at AvantStay than the health, safety, and experience of our guests & staff. We've enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols and are taking extra care to disinfect all surfaces between reservations with hospital-grade disinfecting solutions.

As a reminder, we do work with 3rd party vendors to maintain the property, and although we adhere to the strictest CDC guidelines and advise all contractors to wear PPE equipment, we can not always enforce. We strongly advise guests to please deny access if any vendors fail to meet and adhere to these standards.

IDs will be requested for verification after booking. All bookings over 28 days require a security deposit.

We report and prosecute all Credit Card Fraud.

Whidbey House
First, the location was amazing. Views of the sound and Olympic Mountains amazing. Very nice and quiet neighborhood. Now to HUGE issue - Cleanliness. Discovered at end of stay the front load washer seal completely covered with MOLD. Not just a little. This is machine used to wash the linens and towels you use. Could not in good conscience wash a load of towels as suggested in house instructions. Dryer filter totally filled with lint. Looked like never cleaned out. Almost all pots and pans should be thrown away. Some were disgusting. Spice drawer had so much spilled spices in each section. Lot of left over food and items in cabinets. A bottle of honey had a tiny bit in the bottom. It had already turned to sugar. One jar with some kind of syrup only tiny bit left. Bottle was so sticky on the outside it was stuck to the shelf. Have never been to a VRBO home with shelves full of partially used items. Syrups, oils, cereal, etc. Some with just a tiny bit of product left. All shelves and drawers dirty on the inside. Drawer with forks, etc had a paper towel put under each utensil section. Towel was dirty. Bedding - as instructed removed bedding. When we took off the cover on the comforter - brown stains on the comforter. Issue with some blinds not being able to be lowered. Even with perfect location of house, would never have stayed had we seen how dirty so much was. Wish I could attach pictures of these things with this review. Management needs to get house professionally cleaned.

Nice vacation stay
As other reviewers have mentioned, this a lovely and relaxing oasis. The home matched the listing description and photos. We loved walking to the rocky beach with our kids and exploring the neighboring towns as well. Our only issue was how hot the home was when we arrived. It was unseasonably warm, the air conditioning did not work, and many of the windows are unable to be opened. It was stifling, to the point that despite traveling all day we had to leave the house after unpacking and dine out. At night it cooled down pleasantly and we aired it out for the remainder of the visit and closed the blinds during the afternoon sun. It would have been nice to have a fan for each bedroom- there were only two small ones and we had a group of seven people. Other than the uncomfortable first day/night, we very much enjoyed our stay.

Relaxing seaside week
We came to the island to babysit grandkids. Brought extended family so cousins could play together. Two sets of bunk beds was a must and three beds accommodating three couples was perfect for us. The wasps were an issue on the deck but maintenance man, Gary, came on a Sunday to spray which helped a lot. We were impressed. Kitchen had everything we needed. Haze was disappointing but still enjoyed the ship and boat traffic. A few small maintenance things should be addressed like carpet needed to be stretched downstairs but we would stay there again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My 2 girlfriends and I had a perfect location for our yearly Pacific NW reunion! The house is amazing! Even more spacious and beautiful than it appears in the pictures. Each of us had our private space and bathroom (2.5 bathrooms).The setting is great! We enjoyed watching the ferries, ships, tugs, fishing, and pleasure vessels. Mt. Rainier and the lights of Seattle were the view to the left and a gorgeous sunset the view to the right. We hated to leave the sea, fresh air, and peaceful neighborhood.This is a working kitchen. We cooked a couple of meals and found everything we needed and more. Very nice to have access to the garage.Tara Property staff was checking in with us periodically but not too often! We love Whidbey and being about mid-island, we were well-positioned for exploration and whale watching!Would definitely book again!
