The River Pines

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. The River Pines is a recent construction that offers a wonderful connection with nature, a fun place to gather around a fire pit, and a short drive to some local entertainment. There are two bedrooms plus a spacious loft area with a quiet place to work if you must! The cabin is an easy drive to the beautiful Alexandria Bay where you can take a day trip into Canada. Enjoy this pet-friendly piece of heaven.
The space
This cabin sits along the Independence River. It is private yet close to the town of Lowville if you want to be around people. You might just catch a glimpse of a bald eagle fly over as you relax outdoors, or, if you're lucky, you will see the river otters! The cabin is conveniently located one mile from horseback trails.
Guest access
You will have the entire cabin to yourself. You have access to all three wooded acres on the property, including the fire pit area, stairs to the water, parking area with roundabout and grassy area out back, overlooking the Independence. There is a washer and dryer for your use, propane and electric grill, and another grassy, running area next to the cabin for your furry friends. The upstairs owner's closet is the only part of cabin inaccessible to guests.
Other things to note
There are dressers in each bedroom, a fully stocked kitchen and small picnic table on back patio for your use. Feel free to relax with one of the many books, enjoy the board games or kick back and watch a movie when you're not out enjoying what nature has to offer. The cabin is not toddler- proofed. Children are welcomed but must be supervised. There is a Pack-n-Play for infants. There is no smoking inside the cabin. For security, there is a video Ring doorbell out front.

We had a wonderful stay at River Pines Cabin! The cabin was spotless, very spacious, and thoughtfully stocked with all the amenities you could possibly need. It was our family’s first winter trip with our 9- and 4-year-old, and the cabin was perfect—comfortable, cozy, and easy for traveling with kids. There was plenty of room for everyone to relax after winter adventures, and everything was well maintained and welcoming. We truly felt at home and would absolutely recommend River Pines Cabin to other families looking for a peaceful getaway in New York.

Our stay was absolutely amazing. The cabin and views around the river are astonishing. We had plenty of snow during the week, which made for a gorgeous winter wonderland.Sue is very attentive to any needs that arise. We would be delighted to stay here again.I can’t say enough good about the cabin, location and the owner. I’m looking forward to our next trip already.

River music all day and night. Lovely, super clean and extremely well stocked cabin in the woods. Great North Woods decor really makes you feel at home. Didn't need for anything. Had sunny skies for most of the week. Visited wife's Alma mata, St Lawrence University. Thanks for sharing your beautiful place.

The property is new and well appointed. The extras were much appreciated! The hosts have notes in and around the house pointing out complimentary toiletries, phone chargers, tv specifics etc., very helpful. The beds were very comfortable, the outside was very tidy with complimentary fire wood, chairs, bug spray and grilling tools! The view and sound of the river were so peaceful. Definitely go to Mary’s Dairy for frozen custard, it’s the best we’ve ever had.

Super impressed with the cleanliness of the property and preparation done for guests and their pets. Communication with the owners and property manager was pleasant, with quick response time and knowledge of the area. The cabin itself paired with its location on the river provided a perfect get-away for us!

Beautiful Cozy Cabin

We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and Valentine's Day. The cabin is gorgeous. The hosts were extremely friendly and very responsive. They've taken such great care all round to have everything you can possibly imagine for your stay. The property is beautiful and especially picturesque with all the snow surrounding it. We had a couple wintery evening fires and cooked on the grill. The cabin is so cozy and warm inside. The fireplace is beautiful. The furniture is all very comfortable. There are several decent places around to eat. The locals are all incredibly friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were able to relax and restore. Five star all round for this wonderful place.

Amazing vacation property

We had the best family Christmas vacation at this property. The property was beautifully situated off the roadway amongst a forest of trees and on the banks of a beautiful river. The snow glistened on the property and off the river giving us an ideal setting for Christmas. The home was amazing. Gorgeous cathedral ceilings, large bedrooms, and well-appointed baths. The baths and kitchen were more than sufficiently stocked with anything you could possibly need. The hosts went over and above in every way and met every need. Throughout the process, Sue and Rick were always a text away. They also left Christmas presents for each one of us and our dogs. This is an A location, home, and experience, and one I hope we can revisit again. Thanks again, Sue and Rick. Donna & Miles & family.

What an amazing property! Hospitality was 10/10! This cabin truly has everything you need. The decor is amazing and so clean. The outdoor property is stunning as well. We had the best time with our fur babies and loved the welcome basket! Thank you for hosting us!

Peaceful and pristine get away

Beautiful and peaceful location with the river right outside the back door (and a nice, easy-to-access path down to the river). The cabin is spotless with every need thoughtfully covered, and the location is private yet not isolated. We used the cabin as our home base to travel around the Adirondacks to our favorites spots from over the years, while also enjoying local. Quick trip to Old Forge, and Tupper Lake isn't far away either. Lake Placid area is ~2.5 hrs.

Amazing, relaxing, quiet get away

What a beautiful home on an awe inspiring location on the river. The house is very comfortable with a lot of little touches from the owner to really make you feel at home. The property was great, from the back porch overlooking the water, to the fire pit, and the trails leading down to the water. We checked out a few local attactions on the way to our stay with the intention of going out and exploring more each day we were there. However, we were so enthralled by the property we spent most days sitting by the fire listening to the river and playing with the dogs. We had a great, realxing, trip thanks to this house and property and all that the owners have done to make us feel welcome and comfortable.

Winter weekend

Beautiful, peaceful location. The view of the river is spectacular. The house is sparkling clean and has everything you need. We drove 30 minutes to go for a winter hike, also beautiful. Wonderful weekend trip.

Cozy cabin by the river

My family had a wonderful stay at the cabin on the river. The owners were very accommodating and responsive. Everything was clean, and every detail was so well thought out. New, clean and functional

This was a very nice cabin that was functional with great qualities like an open kitchen/living space, a desk space so I could easily do a little work and a back porch with a view of the river. My wife and I enjoyed staying here.

Great place to enjoy the outdoors.

Private cabin tucked in the woods over-looking the river. Cabin was stocked with plenty of extra items and treats for the renters and their furry friends. I will/would stay at this place again. Next time, hopefully during trout season for some fly fishing. Dave/Lynn - Connecticut

My husband, Tom, and I (Sue) travel much! We live in PA but fell in love with NY Adirondacks area. We decided to build in late 2019, but many roadblocks pushed construction back. Finally, in 2023 we finished our home away from home!

We love watching the eagles and river otters when they decide to visit, the sunrise over the river and the deer that frequent the driveway.

Our border collies live for fetching their Frisbees while running around the grassy area and through the 3 acres of woods. They often walk with us down the quick trail to the river so we can sit on rocks and listen to river sounds.

We want to share this with you and hope you fall in love with NY nature, too.
