This a very cozy Cabin off of a private drive on top of a mountain ridge line. Host is very accommodating, access close to skiing Ober, and town center of Gatlinburg. As others have mentioned, the last section of the drive is a bit tricky in the winter months. But don't let that scare you off, all wheel drive or front wheel drive and you will be fine. Did not see any bears this trip. Highly recommend this cabin for a truly mountain experience...

We had a great time. Enjoyed the local scenery and Smokey Mountain National Park. House was in a quiet location.

We had an amazing stay at this mountain getaway. For as many homes as there are in the area it was very quiet. The driveway as mentioned by others is a bit challenging for those used to flat land. The washer and dryer work well, however they are challenging to use, there's not much room. Other than those minute things the cabin was great. I especially enjoyed being the last cabin on the road.

Had a wonderful time. The road in is a little tricky just go slow. Cabin was great. Bed is super comfy. Saw a mamma with her cubs. Would stay here again. Walter was very responsive.

Amazing cabin!

The cabin is absolutely beautiful and the view is amazing! Very clean, plenty of indoor and outdoor space. The road to get to it is a bit narrow and tricky and I wouldn’t park more than two or three cars back there so carpooling with other guests may be necessary. The host was very quick to respond to any questions or issues. You won’t regret booking this beautiful cabin!

This cottage has great view on the back deck and a lot of wildlife. We saw 3 different bears while there.

The driveway to the house is not for the faint of heart. We had a Honda Odyssey and it was fine, but I dreaded the possibility of anyone coming down the road in the other direction because that is a one way rough road with rock on one side and steep drop down the mountain on the other. We got back to the house before dark each day and luckily there was no rain to drive it wet. The bear situation is real. There are a few in the area and they are very active. We did not see one face to face but were hyper vigilant when walking our dog, and would not take her out at night. The neighbors had a bear jump into the back of his truck while unpacking.Walter was a great host! Very quick to respond.

House

The house was great. The road to get to it was not. Narrow, steep and rough. Also the washer and dryer are to big for the area they are in. Very hard to do laundry. I have bruises on my belly from squeezing in to do my laundry. But other than that I slept like a baby every night. I would stay again. Thank you to the owner.

Great Experience!

We were very pleased with the cabin. It was just as listed on VRBO with the amenities and locations. It had all the kitchen utensils and appliances needed for our family. They even had a pet kennel, leash and bowels. The owner was great through the entire process of booking through check out. We would book again but next time will bring a 4wd vehicle as the road leading up to the house was very steep in places and not very wide. But to be honest, pretty much all the roads in the area are just like that. Great experience overall!

Could have been better

We have stayed in several cabins in Gatlinburg and were excited to try this location in our search for bears. And we did see bears close to the cabin and in other locations on our trip. So that was a great success. Walter was a great host and very responsive but our stay should have been nicer. We found the house was not very clean. Furniture needs to be updated as it showed lots of wear and tear in the living room. The spaces in the house were very small. The washer / dryer room was ridiculously small... no human could actually fit in that room. The upstairs spare room had a hole in the ceiling. The outdoor jacuzzi was not clean and when we tried the indoor jacuzzi in the downstairs bathroom, dirt literally flew out of the nozzles as if it hadn't been used or cleaned in months. Despite how great Walter was, this was not a great experience for us. I hate leaving negative reviews but I also don't want others to have a negative experience. This was not a 5-star or even 4-star experience.
