Great place for large family

Everything was excellent! Just as described on VRBO. EXCEPT: We only had 2 problems-televisions! The TVs in both rooms were a joke. In the master, super small and 1 channel! The History Channel! Would not change to any other channel. Totally unexpected! The 1st floor bedroom had a non smart 10 yr old 19 inch TV. Every channel was snowy and very hard to see. Very disappointing!

The furnishings were lovely, the appliances top notch, the beds very comfortable, and the A/C worked great all the time. The pool was the perfect size for adults and small children, and there were more than enough beach towels for all of us. Having a washer and dryer in the house was an added bonus. We hardly ever heard the neighbors, and the street was very quiet. We highly recommend The Veranda House!

Awesome Location

What a wonderdul house for a big family,10. At night everyone could rest in their space or all together. The house is very sturdy to where when we went to bed upstairs, we didnt hear everyone that stayed up to watch tv or play games. The pool area is great. The dock and canal is perfect for a bigger boat. Being right at Vaca Cut is always a plus! We will stay here again!

We had 8 total guests and were more than comfortable. The house is stocked incredibly well with any items you’d need from kitchen tools to pool towels and floats. There is a fridge and ice machine downstairs to easily load up the boat in the morning and the boat access was phenomenal. Morning walks around the neighborhood were lovely and the street was quiet and peaceful. We received texts throughout our stay ensuring that we had everything we needed and there was no lack of communication leading up to the stay. We have no complaints with this home and would absolutely return in the future! Thank you to Keys Ocean Vacation Rentals for making my birthday extra special and ensuring that everything went smoothly.

Detailed, helpful & clear communications were provided. Perfect for our group of 7. The home was more beautiful and comfortable than we had hoped. The house was exceptionally clean and extremely well stocked!!! The kitchen was recently remodeled and we enjoyed cooking together. We spent some great family time outside enjoying the veranda's, pool and tiki hut! We were so happy with our choice and plan to book again for next year!!

However, the upstairs a/c unit was not working and the pool algae population increased steadily during our stay. Three of the four bedrooms were upstairs - lack of a/c made for uncomfortable sleeping. We alsoAre willing to pay more for property with a pool, but could only use it for a couple days. Marathon Vacation Rental personnel were polite and professional, but neither issue was resolved. That being said, I’d stay here again if issues were addressed.

It took less than 5 minutes to run the boat out to either the gulf side or Oceanside. It is also close to the marina, dive shop and grocery store. The kitchen was very well stocked and linens/towels were abundant. The furniture and beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately, a pipe leak required maintenance to come out and fix it; however, management was very responsive and non-intrusive to this issue. After each day out on the boat, we had a great time finishing off our day in the pool, and relaxing under the tiki hut. The boat dock was perfect with access to water and a fish cleaning station. We were entertained by the tarpon, sharks and manatees in the canal as my son cleaned fish. There was plenty of room downstairs to store/secure our boat and dive gear. Having access to the ice machine was an absolute DREAM; this saved us money and time each morning when prepping to go out in the boat. I do wish pets are allowed, because we missed having our dog with us. However,, we understand the purpose behind this requirement. Overall, we would definitely recommend staying at this house when visiting Marathon.

Great rental for fishing

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a group of 8 (4 kids and 4 adults) and brought a boat and were very satisfied. The things we liked about the house: It is located on the first canal at the end of the canal so its super quick to get offshore. On the first floor is a storage area with a fridge and freezer for drinks/food, a bait freezer and commercial ice machine. This was a great place to store all of our rods and fishing gear, and it was nice not to have to lug it upstairs. The ice machine made plenty of ice to load up our boat every day and to pack our catch in ice when we left. The house was spacious and we had plenty of room. The house is also on the shady side of the street which was great in the afternoons as that afternoon sun is brutal. The dock was wood which we prefer over a seawall, and had bumper rails built in with a large fish cleaning area. The cons: Two of the bedrooms did not have closets and instead had wicker armoires and not a whole lot of storage for clothing. The downstairs bedroom has a window shaker a/c but it does the job and the downstairs bathroom was super tiny. The dock is very small and is separated from the patio by mangroves. Although the mangroves are pretty, I think they are a breeding ground for mosquitoes because the mosquitos were far worse than any rental we have ever used in key colony (although we did hear from others that the mosquitos were just unusually bad this summer). We usually like to sit out on the dock and look out over the canal at night and this was not possible due to the tiny dock and the mangroves, however the upstairs balcony was a good substitute. The kitchen was well stocked and hand soap, lotion, shampoo and conditioner was provided in all bathrooms which was a nice touch. There were also games and puzzles provided as well as a basket of books and an abundance of large towels. Overall we were happy with the house. Some things we would recommend: a dock light (we just love those!) and an outside dining table.

Marathon House Review

The house is great. There is plenty of space to spread out between the pool, wrap around porch, and in the interior. There are lots of doors and windows for a cross breeze. The kitchen is well stocked aside from sharp knives (zero). Bring basket coffee filters and coffee. There is plenty of fridge and freezer space and a helpful ice machine downstairs. The neighborhood is quiet and nice for walking, the grocery store is about a 15 minute drive. This would be a great place if you have a boat, easy to park and keep write off the back of the property. The rental company is easy to communicate with, check in was easy.

There was a obviously a party the night before the pool was filthy and large glitter was all over the place and also all in pool. Property manager was notified and they asked us to pick up and clean out of pool. Property manager did not have pool cleaned until Wednesday and we were not able to a swim till late thursday as it was so merky. no one ones to swim in nasty pool so it was not usable for the majority of our trip. The house was nice and the ice machine downstairs is a plus for fishing needs.
