Our beach vacation at the Moorings

We have been staying at the Sanibel Moorings for many years. I’m having mixed feelings about our stay this year. We rented a 2 bd/2 bath condo for our family of 6, 4 adults and 2 children. We were given towels for 4 people. We had ro request an additional 2. The person I spoke to said they were supposed to give 1 pack only (4 sets), but she would give me an additional pack. We were informed upon check in that towel exchange is now only on Wednesday mornings. They do have 24 hour laundry available across the street (dockside). The pool was wonderful and clean and the beach was wonderful as usual. However, we found a few problems in the unit. There were ants and small roaches in the kitchen. We also found that some of the pans were greasy. We made sure everything was clean and left no food out when we used the kitchen. In the first bathroom, the shower pole was loose. In previous years, The Moorings offered chairs and umbrellas to be used at the beach to be returned when we left the beach. This year, we were told each condo had 2 beach chairs for guest use. If we needed more chairs or umbrellas we could rent them. Our stay was more expensive than previous years, but it was inconvenient not to have towel exchange daily and inconvenient to not have sufficient beach chairs and no umbrellas unless we rented extra. There were chairs and umbrellas at the pool. Bottom line, we enjoyed our stay, but considering we paid more for less services, we will be looking at other options for future beach vacations.
