Bahama Dreamin is a dream come true!

The vacation started at the airport when Niki picked us up and we had a quick 15 mins drive to the house. We were able to use one of robins cars and that made life so easy. Everything was very clean and beautifully decorated! We were on the top floor of the blue house. The living room and kitchen furniture looked brand new. We snorkeled off the coast right there by the house, We saw lots of fish and other sealife. We spent much of our time on the screened in porch facinf the ocean. We made day trips to the north and south of island. We enjoyed Max's Conch Bar and it had a great atmosphere and yummy conch salad, and fish. Gordans was also yummy! We look forward to returning and staying longer next time. We had heard about mosquitos but never saw any and and we felt a few 'No See ums' but that was dealt with using Off or if we felt them on the patio we used the fan to blow them away. So I would say it was an excellent vacation! We communicated with Niki when needed and she was always sweet and helpful.

Simply Amazing

Everything was as advertised and then some. Had a very nice time. The view was outstanding and made just relaxing on the front porch a lot of fun also. Deans Blue holes proximity was very nice. We could have went to that beach every day! It was a holiday when we landed and Robin knew most stores would be closing so she made sure we had a few groceries we could reimburse her for instead of us having to wait until the next day. Thank you Robin for your hospitality. We will be back.

Quiet Retreat

Recently my partner and I, along with one of our friends, decided to visit Long Island for a quiet and relaxing get away. Our decision to book with Robin was absolutely the best choice. The house was immaculate and every thing we could have needed was already there. The house sits atop a hill overlooking the ocean and chimney rock, and has easy access to the water. There are a handful of places to eat within a short drive, as well as grocery and liquor stores. Not to mention, how many VRBO hosts give you a car to use during your stay??? This was icing on the cake and sure made navigating the island easy and less burdensome than finding a rental on the island. We’d definitely stay here again!

The perfect location.

The location of the villa is in the middle of the island which is ideal for traveling both “down” North and “up” South. The view of Chimney Rock is spectacular and there are beautiful sunrises and exceptional sunsets. The cool ocean breeze is welcoming and sound of the waves is relaxing. The villa is clean and well appointed with all the modern convinces to make you feel at home. The car that is included with the rental is a huge bonus. Communication with the owner and caretaker is excellent and all needs are met and questions answered. For groceries you can go to the nearby Knowles food store which also has a gas station opposite. Lloyds Sporting Lounge which is across from Dean’s Blue Hole, has a large variety of good cuisine and local delicacies like the steamed mutton, cracked conch and jerk chicken. Letta’s Takeaway with attached gift shop has daily home cooked specials. The Forest take away has the most tender fall of the bone ribs you ever tasted. When you visit Gordon’s Beach at the most southern point of the island, make sure to have some fresh conch salad and fried grouper caught and prepared by Mr. Watson. After visiting the Columbus Monument in the north of the island, stop in for a bite at Rosie’s takeaway and have a relaxed cocktail at Stella Maris after swimming in Erna’s Nature Pool. Bahama Dreamin’ is the perfect place for a truly unforgettable Long Island experience.

Amazing location conformable villa.

The villa is perched above a world class ocean view with beautiful ocean colors and snorkel from shore opportunities. Owners Robin and Mike were very attentive and assisted with our transportations and were very friendly. I will definitely stay in these villas if they are available next time I go to Long Island.

Just Amazing

Robin was an excellent host. She was very fast to respond to all our questions both before and during our stay. We were there to celebrate a family member's birthday and Robin even put us in touch with this fabulous bakery on the island. The views from the apartments are stunning. Everything is clean and very well kept. There was a full size coffee maker that we really enjoyed, and the rest of the kitchen was very well stocked with all the tools you would need to prepare a delicious meal. We really enjoyed spending time in the tiki hut that has wonderful lounge chairs with unparalleled views of the ocean. If you stay here, you owe to yourself to get up more than once and watch the sun rise over the clear Atlantic ocean. It was one of my favorite parts of our stay. My only regret was not being able to stay longer. I'm already trying to line up our schedule with another availability on this wonderful property. Thank you again Robin!

Perfect Escape

I was really impressed with the property. The photos don't do justice to just how great of a stay this was. There's a small island just in front of the property that give you amazing sunrise and sunset views, and a really fun swim when the tide is low and the seas aren't too rough. Located at around the midpoint of Long Island, my friends and I were able to travel to the north and southern tip of the island, and had a great time. Highly recommend.

Great Long Island stay

Robin and Mike's place is just as the pictures make it seem. You will see more shades of blue and green than you've got names for. The property is mid-point in the 80-mile-long island, an hour from the northernmost points and about 45 minutes to the southernmost. The use of a free car to explore as you like is a great bonus, and makes this perhaps the best deal on the island, since rental prices for cars on Long Island average about $60/day, and you need a car to get anywhere. Though the names of towns/villages appear on the map, there are really no towns or villages to speak of on the island. No concentration of shops/homes/restaurants--everything is quite spread out. From this property you'll need to drive 15-20 minutes to the nearest beach--the coral at the bottom of the property is sharp and does not make for a great walk, and definitely does not qualify as a beach. There is not much to do on the island, other than go to a different beach each day, try out a few restaurants, fish if you like, and relax. The beaches are gorgeous. Mike and Robin have beach chairs and snorkel gear, but they might be in short supply if you're there when all four units are occupied. Mike and Robin are very responsive. Robin replies to emails immediately. Even though they live in the three building complex, you'll rarely see them unless you need something. We stayed for the month of January. The weather was perfect for us--high each day in the upper 70s, water quite swimmable and refreshing, not warm as bath water. The no-see-ums arrive each day at sunset on the Caribbean side, so bring some insect repellent. They are ferocious. No bugs on the Atlantic side, which is where Robin and Mike's place is. Best places to eat: Lloyd's, Chez Pierre, Tiny's, Rowdy Boys for Friday night pig roast, and the best fish tacos on the planet at the Flying Fish at the marina, which also has the most amazing views of the Atlantic.

You can get some good snorkeling right at the house in the pools below. View is amazing and the hosts are helpful and friendly. Will even drop you at airport on your way off Long Island. Bring bug spray, as the noseeums are pests after dark. The house has all that you'll need, including a car for use, and is really well done. Wifi is good and library of movies and books for chill evenings or the rare rainy day.

Perfection!

I can not imagine a more perfect spot and a better host... Robin made sure our every need was taken care of and her villas are so comfortable and beautiful! She arranged for a wonderful meal to be delivered to us on our first and last evenings. Boy, did that make for a carefree vacation! Having a car was fantastic, and we loaded it with a cooler, chairs, and snorkeling equipment (all provided!), and went off to adventure. We had great fun at Dean's Blue Hole, Gordon's Beach, the Columbus Monument, the marina and Max's. When we heard it was going to snow in Virginia, we were able to add an extra day to our stay. The week was just delightful, and we will definitely be repeat visitors!

OMG!!

We had the best time at Bahama Dreamin' ! And Long Island ! The place was lovely and so clean ! Robin has done a great job decorating, the outside screened in porch is a gem ! The view is crazy pretty! And it was so relaxing, very hard to leave !! Robin is the hostess with the mostess, she will spoil you ! The car was a great addition ! Beaches everywhere, great food everywhere, you just have to come ready for the experience! It's one you'll treasure! We will be back ! Robin and Mike are so easy to deal with, they give you the low down before you get there, and carry you through until you leave ! We've been going to the Southern Bahama Islands for many years, this is probably the easiest rental we've ever stayed at! There was never an issue, ever! In the Bahamas that's a high compliment, there are issues most times, not big, but... Not at Bahama Dreamin' uneventful, just the way we like it ! Been gone 1 day, miss it already !!

Stunning property, perfect getaway

From our first interaction to when Robin drove us to the airport, Robin and Mike were so friendly, helpful, and did everything possible to make sure we had a great vacation. The property is in a gorgeous setting, very comfortable, and beautifully put together. We loved sitting on the porch watching the sunrise each morning, exploring the cool rocks in front of the cottage, visiting a variety of stunning deserted beaches, taking the cave tour, and even taking a boat tour to meet swimming pigs (which Robin arranged for us!). Couldn't have asked for a better holiday getaway. Don't miss out on this secluded gem.

Nov-Dec on Long Island

We recently returned from a 10 day stay at Bahama Dreamin in Buckleys, Long Island. We have previously visited many of the 'Family Islands' but it was our first visit to Long. First things first, there is an absolutely gorgeous view looking out the front of the villas, stunning sunrises with dramatic offshore rock formations that add to photographic interest. The hosts (Mike & Robin) could not have been more accommodating. We arrived on Thanksgiving day & were invited to join them and their friends for dinner. A truly generous and unexpected treat. Thanksgiving on a tropical island with great people & food. We made contacts that would serve us well through our time there. It was very handy to have the inside scoop on which beaches to visit, where to eat, what to see. We ended up eating quite a few dinners at Max's Conch Bar which is only a mile or so away. Outstanding food (Hogfish Parmesan is to die for) & entertainment (Gary & Liz -Thanks to both of you for your insights as well). We also visited the Flying Fish marina in Clarence Town & had a few lunches there. Very good fish/lobster tacos. Lloyds Sports Bar in Dean's (home to the Blue Hole) on the main highway was an unexpected find, one of the better salads & light dinner fare that can be had. The beaches were a bit beat up from brushes with the prolific 2017 hurricane season. Gordon's beach at the south end of the island ended up being one of our favorites. Calm, clean & safe. There is a steady flow of tourist-type visitors, but never enough to make it feel crowded. There's also a 2+ mile long beach on the Atlantic side in Dunmore/Roses. Up north, one of the best was at the end of the road directly across from the Farmer's Market in Thompson Bay & there's also another lunch spot called Tiny's on Indian Hole Point. Farther north are the resorts, Stella Maris & Cape Santa Maria, with their restaurants & bars. We got to explore the entire length of the island due to two days of on & off rainy weather. All said, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would not hesitate to return.

Robin was very helpful perfect central location the porch always had a nice breeze caught fish in front of the house had them for lunch snorkeling was wonderful.This island is very special its like going back to mayberry everyone on the island friendly and helpful gorgius secluded beaches no stoplights in eighty miles my wife and i have been to many islands and i always say i wont go back to an island i have been to before [like to find new places] this island and bahama dreamin i would go back too.

Beautiful, peaceful location.

Thanks so much to Robin and Mike for creating a wonderful oasis perched up overlooking sea sculptures and the majestic ocean. Nothing was overlooked in the details of these villas which are definitely a home away from home on a wonderful island. Villas are clean, modern, and new! Can't say enough about Robin's graciousness and generosity. The villas are located a little south of mid island, and going north or south you will find a deserted beach. When one end of the island is cloudy, just drive to the other side! We always found sunshine. Best fishing right outside the door! Cant wait to return.

Great place!

Bahama Dreamin was even better in person than the pictures! Very nice villa with everything we needed, and great views. We were looking for a vacation where we would have secluded beaches, great snorkeling and some hiking and that is exactly what we got on Long Island. Having the rental car was also extremely convenient. I have highly recommended Bahama Dreamin to family and friends.

Fabulous accommodations and very relaxing

Robin and Mike's place is perfect for a laid back, relaxing get away from the world. We used the car to go to the beach every day. We swam right in front of the house and enjoyed beautiful sunsets from the screened in porch. Robin was the consummate host. Accommodating but not intrusive -- which you never know about when the owner is on site. :) Going to sleep every night listening to the waves lap the shore was paradise. We highly recommend Bahama Dreamin' for a peaceful vacation. We stayed two weeks and didn't want to leave.

In 2011 we wanted to start planning our semi- retirement and thought it was going to be on a boat to cruise the Caribbean. After looking at the cost of a boats to cruise to the Bahamas we decided to look at property in the Bahamas. The first property we looked at was in Long Island and that was our last! We fell in love with this friendly, safe, beautiful island at first glance. After 3 years we feel blessed that we by far made the right decision.

Then we meet with a few builders and chose Lauren Knowles, who is a father to the community and now like family to us. We started with just going to build a home for us but later decided we wanted to be able to share this amazing island with friends and family so that is how the Blue Lagoon Villa and the Pink Conch came in to play. After touring Long Island we had to make a choice on where we wanted to build Bahama Dreamin Villas. We looked at the Leeward side of the island and the Windward side. We chose the windward side because of the elevation for the best view and the constant breeze. Even though we are from FL the breeze adds to the comfort of a tropical climate. We are so sre you will be amazed by the beautiful view that when you drive up the road to Bahama Dreamin and your first words aren't OMG we will buy your first nights dinner! You come once this will be somewhere you will want to visit again and again.

We have traveled to many places so we have tried to pin down all the fine details when building and furnishing the Blue Lagoon and the Pink Conch Villas. Each villa are 1 and 2 bedrooms and each bedroom has its own private bath. The living room and kitchen has everything you need to make your stay just like home with a full refrigerator, stove, microwave plus pots and pans, blender, mixer, toaster, dishes etc... If you don't want to cook there are many restaurants on the island close by or you can have a Bahamian meal cooked for your in your own Villa with fresh fish or lobster caught that day. The large screened in porch is where you will spend your evenings and on a calm night you will be glad to have the screened room that is like an extension of the family room. All rooms are air conditioned but we rarely need them since there is always a nice breeze.
