The Selah Steading is a brand NEW farmstead home on a peaceful beautiful 5 acres overlooking a serene pasture with alpacas & surrounded by evergreen forest. Dry sauna and hottub. Really close to town & recreation, yet feels far away. Very comfortable beds (Nectar mattresses), coffee bar and well supplied kitchen, unique decorations made from refurbished property wood, and private views from every window. Warm up in the hot tub, dry sauna, or in front of the firepit, after pacific northwest adventuring. The hammock and BBQ from the patio provide a private 180degree view of a majestic mountain skyline. Or try the giant cabled swing on the hillside for a fun that both children and adults will enjoy. There are many amazing places within minutes of this special location: Mountain biking, hiking, road biking, historic downtown, shopping, oceanfront parks and dining. Mt Baker ski area is just 75 minutes away. But the best part is coming back to rest and rejuvenate in this truly peaceful space at the base of the Chuckanut mountains!

We are a family local to Whatcom County that bought this old farmstead for a family-owned farm rejuvination and land restoration project. We live elsewhere in town but built the brand new home (2023) on the property exclusively for you as a guest to enjoy - an amazing special place tucked away but close access to all the great things in Bellingham. Our kids have helped us clean up and restore the property and barn (improvements continue to be made), wooded areas and trails with native plantings, paddock and round pens, pasture and hills. We come stay there ourselves because we enjoy is so much. The giant swing on the hill and caring for our rescue alpacas are favorite things we do.
Some of the furnishings inside the home are made from wood from property, old logs and structures that came down - and our kids helped us make them. 90% of our landscape we put together ourselves by using stones and materials that were already on the property, blending some of the natural and native elements that are already there. Each season we continue to add more to the experience of the property: this year we are looking forward to adding more to our berry patch, veggie gardens, and cedar grove.
We have sought to make this a lovely place for others rest and recreation! Enjoy!
