This was a great property. Well-furnished, decorated and very comfortable. Loved the art, record player and vinyl records. The outdoor space, especially the back patio was great for entertaining, grilling or just relaxing. Good location, adjacent to the UNT campus and just a short drive to the downtown area. Though on a busy street it was still a quiet neighborhood. Margarete was a great host, going the extra mile to make our stay special. Would highly recommend this property. We plan on staying here again on our next trip.

Art Haven is exactly as advertised! It was so clean and comfortable! We were able to easily cook dinner for 5 people with plenty of dishes, glasses, silverware, serving ware and everything needed to prepare the dinner! Everything is well labeled throughout the whole house so you don’t waste time looking around. There were snacks available when we arrived. Margarette throughly communicated prior to our arrival with directions for getting into the home. We even had a need to contact her during our stay and she responded promptly and throughly.Due to the weather, we weren’t able to enjoy being outside in the backyard but it is so well set up if the weather had cooperated we would definitely have enjoyed the backyard, too.If we need to rent a home in Denton again, this will be our first choice!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Art Haven! The house was perfect, extremely clean, beyond comfortable, well designed and creative, and the owner was generous and attentive and helpful. We wanted for nothing, was provided with excellent recommendations, and she left out subtle touches that were specifically geared for myself and my kids. I hope to visit Denton many times in the future and do not want to stay anywhere else. I’ve never had such a stress free wonderful experience.

Art House perfect for UNT event

We stayed here to celebrate our masters of composition student graduating! It was the perfect place to have as a homebase over the weekend to get back-and-forth to the campus. The property and the garden is beautiful. Everything is labeled so you know how to use it. It’s great. I had a few questions on the host responded very quickly.

Hi, I’m Margarete—an artist, retired educator, and longtime Denton local. I studied at Art/Counseling/Information Science at UNT and got married in the TWU's Little Chapel in the woods. I spent years teaching art and curating stories in school libraries. Art Haven is my way of sharing the creative spirit of Denton—a peaceful, gallery-style space where comfort and inspiration meet.

The home features a rotating collection of local artwork and a garden designed to attract pollinators and provide a restful outdoor retreat. Hosting allows me to support emerging artists, share my love of beauty and storytelling, and welcome guests into a space that’s truly one of a kind.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

Located just one street over from the University of North Texas, the neighborhood is peaceful, walkable, and filled with character. Birds visit the garden each morning, and the patios offer a quiet spot to enjoy Denton’s glowing sunsets. You can stroll to Fry Street, campus, and the Square, yet still feel like you’re in your own little oasis. I love the balance—close to the vibrant energy of the university and downtown, but surrounded by trees, native blooms, and a sense of calm.

この宿泊施設の特徴

Art Haven is more than a place to sleep—it’s an immersive art experience. Every room features a rotating collection of original work by local artists, curated to inspire and connect. It feels like a living gallery, where creativity flows through the space itself.

But comfort is just as important here. You'll find plush beds with quality linens, a fully stocked kitchen with everything from a Chemex to a tea station, fast Wi-Fi, and cozy garden patios perfect for coffee or cocktails. Whether you're unwinding in the soaking tub, working remotely at the dedicated desk, or enjoying a quiet night in with streaming and a book, every detail is designed to make you feel at ease—and a little inspired.
