Victorian Modern, on the Mississippi River

Beautiful, remodeled Victorian / Modern home with open floor plan.
The Mississippi River is your backyard right in Minneapolis. 3 queen bedrooms and a 4th pullout bed in the common room. 10 minute drive to downtown Minneapolis.
We've been a super host on other platforms since 2015 with hundreds of 5 star reviews. We've always enjoyed having guests at our one of a kind 1880's Victorian home with modern additions. One of only six houses in the Twin Cities right on the river. Relax in the river room with a beautiful bent wood solarium, fireplace and river view. Enjoy the dock for sunsets, downtown views, nature and the colorful Lowry Bridge. A rare historic home we like to call "country in the city".
A buzzing restaurant district. Within a few blocks are 4 restaurants, a brew pub, and coffee shops. The Sample Room restaurant is 2 doors south.
Near Twins, Timberwolves, Vikings, US Bank stadium, Walker Art Center, Guthrie Theater, 1st Avenue, night life, art galleries, live music, cinemas, hiking trails, brew pubs, kayak and bike rentals.
The space:
A spacious, open layout with private rooms, pocket doors, leaded glass, original art, beautiful light and modern furnishings. We've hosted 1 or 2 guests, families, friends for small gatherings, and many business travelers.
Guest access
This is a large duplex. We live on the second floor if you have questions. You have the entire private first floor: fully equipped kitchen, river room with solarium, living room which includes a 4th comfortable queen fold out. Two bedrooms with pocket doors are on the first floor along with a third bedroom on the second floor via a staircase that we do not share with guests. Your private entrance is a sliding glass door on the river-side. The back patio has a table, 6 chairs and gas grill. There's also a side porch so there's plenty of room for gatherings or hanging outside to enjoy views of the Mississippi river.
Our large modular space and huge backyard has been used for special events, family reunions, retreats and weddings. Please ask about your event and we can negotiate a price.

We really enjoyed staying in this fun and funky home. Lots of space and light and interesting decor. Comfortable bed and had everything we needed. Easy to get everywhere. It was great to get a chance to explore Mpls from a different point of view.

This was a great choice for us. Phil the owner was very attentive, a nice guy and a great communicator. Not to mention you get a bonus pet from time to time on the back patio on the river side - his dog Poe! Easy access to downtown by Uber and plenty of stuff within walking distance. Check out the classic steakhouse Jax Cafe on University Ave. Its a trip back in time.

MOT IMPORTANT - the landlord was too nosy, poked his nose into our family space/activity, went up to and looked in the windows when we were there, several times, and generally creeped about. He also let his dog - even when wet - come in and bother us — even let his dog run into the home once when we were in it andnWE had to get the dog out.Creepy owner.Nice enough home, and convenient location. But the good stops there.The interior was a very interesting mid century modern style, but was dirty. Not terrible, but just not reasonable standards we would expect.The property was messy and poorly kept, which took away from what could be a beautiful outdoor setting.

We never had a response like this from hundreds of guests in ten years. See our 5 star reviews. Douglas went against the rules by having a party that filtered in and out of the house all day and into the night. As our listing says - we charge for gatherings and as our listing says, we share the back yard with our dog. The floor to ceiling windows facing the Mississippi river makes it impossible for guests to not see us in the back yard. As the guests were constantly opening the door during the party, our dog did run in. I got him out immediately and apologized Our dog loves people. Perhaps too much.

What a nice property! The view of the river was great, the house has all kinds of cool art decorations. The beds were very comfortable. It was a great weekend being near everything. Loved the bar called The Sample Room.

We were more than comfortable when lounging and the kitchen had everything we needed when cooking. There were clear instructions where to place recyclables and garbage, plus compost! We loved our stay.

We had a lovely stay at this property. Everything was exactly as depicted in the photos. Communication and check in were very easy. Make sure to park on the street instead of in the driveway. There was lots of available free street parking nearby.

Very unique home and location. Great view of the River, walkable to restaurants, coffee and night life. Parking is tight so park on the road. Internet works but you will need to bring your own streaming device. We played games and enjoyed watching the birds out the back atrium.

Northeast Minneapolis is the heart of a vibrant arts district. The Mississippi river defines our neighborhood with several parks, kayaking, fishing, geese, blue herons, bald eagles and beautiful sunsets right next to the skyscrapers of downtown. Our neighborhood is very progressive and open to all, with locally owned businesses, restaurants, brew pubs, coffee shops, live venues and art galleries.

この宿泊施設の特徴

We are 1 of only 6 homes right on the Mississippi River in the Twin Cities. Our beautiful 1880's Victorian home still has the original wrought iron fence. Inside history flows into modern with walls of wood and floor to ceiling glass offering relaxing river views. Our queen beds are new and very comfortable. The open layout includes designer furniture and original art. Our expansive yard has majestic trees on three large terraces that lead to the river.
