Welcome to Red Dog Ranch! (Red dog not included (: ). This tranquil home sits on almost 130 private acres in The Adirondack Park, with OVER 9 miles of privately created and maintained hiking trails that can used at your own risk. Perfectly situated facing the Jay Mountain range, catch beautiful all-season sunsets and sunrises as you stay for weddings, retreats, ski trips, hiking adventures, or family getaways!

FLY FISH on the famous Ausable River, only 3/4 of a mile down the road, or drive only 8 miles (12 minutes) to Whiteface mountain for downhill skiing in the Winter, or hiking in the Summer. Relax in the brand new jetted hot tub on the deck while facing the mountains, or sit by the granite fire pit while others man the BLACKSTONE grill- perfect for your next breakfast, lunch, or dinner BBQ.

Walkable to the Jay Town center, where weekly musicals, bands, and plays are put on by the local theater. Play tennis or pickleball at the tennis courts in town, visit the Jay Covered Bridge, a historical attraction, or take a spin/ cycling class or yoga/ meditation classes at Riverside Spin Studio just up the road.

A ten minute car ride to the large and local Keene FARMERS MARKET, where you can find cheeses made by my neighbors' dairy cows, or sheep yogurt and wool products made by my other neighbor!

Get a horseback riding lesson by walking a quarter mile down the road to my neighbor owning Running Horse Farm!

Buy FRESH EGGS and MEAT at my neighbor's farm, Moon Valley Farm, where eggs are packaged daily, and beef, pork, and chicken are born, ethically raised, and slaughtered right there at the farm.

Wake up in the morning to hot or iced coffee with my top of the line NINJA coffee maker, and make delectable meals easily with my Henckels self-sharpening German knife set.

Need to do work while on retreat? No problem! Use my designated office space with HP printer, Eero wifi system, desk and utensils.

Absolutely beautiful

We always rent a place for Thanksgiving. We had the best time. Sitting in the hot tub and looking at the stars. Waking up to deer and turkeys in the field. I would definitely book here again. Thank you Rachel for sharing your beautiful home with us. best time. Everything about the house was perfect.

Amazing House under the stars

We came up at the last minute to do a little skiing at Whiteface. This house is perfect. It is a little out from town, but very easy to get to Whiteface. The house inside is clean, very nicely decorated and laid out. We had everything we needed to get on the slopes quickly and then relax after a long day of skiing. I also worked remotely for part of the day and the office was so nice and internet worked perfectly. We plan to come back.

I am originally from Lake Placid, and wanted a piece of "home" for when I come back to visit the area. I love to ski, hike, and be outdoors, so when I first saw Red Dog Ranch in Jay, I knew that this was my dream property and had to buy it.

Jay is a quaint and cozy village about 16 miles from lake placid- which to me is the perfect distance to escape the noise of the "city", while still being able to drive to town for a day trip for shopping or walking around the lake. Whiteface mountain is only 8 miles from the house, with absolutely beautiful scenery on the way to and from the mountain to make the ride more enjoyable(: Jay is absolutely breathtaking, and on a day with bluebird conditions I promise you will never want to vacation anywhere else.

This house is extremely special. Especially in a time where big corporations are buying up huge tracts of land and developing them into 1 acre cookie-cutter parcels, my home is a one-in-a-million gem. 120+ of my own extremely private acreage, with 9 miles of at least 7 different trails winding through my "backyard". Each leads you to a unique location, whether that is my shed at the top of the property- perfect for sitting at and looking at the stars, or down to the stream bed, where you can sit and watch from afar as wild deer, turkey families, and even black bear travel along the landscape. In addition to summer and fall hiking fun, some of the trails turn into ski chutes in the wintertime, and an ice skate-able stream once its freezes over (all at your own risk). This home is one of a kind and I hope to share it with you!
