Native Hideaway Cabin

Lydia's Native Hideaway is located in Shields Mountain with a great view. Just 7 minutes to Dollywood, 20 minutes to Gatlinburg, 15 to Pigeon . Two bedroom cabin decorated with a southwestern cowboy and Indian theme. Full kitchen, living room, electric fireplace, sleeper sofa, jacuzzi. Swing on deck. Lots of DVDs, books, games to enjoy. There is no wifi here. Not to steep gravel driveway, but an AWD or 4 wheel truck is the best. Gets soggy when it rains. Great view. Sleeps 5 or 6. Pet friendly.
The space
The Southwestern Cabin decor is a touch to the Smoky Mountains. Lydia's Hideaway offers Cowboy and Indian themes throughout the cabin. Located in Shields Mountain, the Hideaway is 8 minutes from Dollywood 20 mins from Gatlinburg. A gravel driveway takes you up the hill to the cabin where you'll see a view of Shields Mountain. Not too steep, though better if you have a 4 wheel or awd vehicle. No RV allowed on this property. Pet friendly with fee on arrival. This is a non smoking and non marijuana indoor cabin. No internet. Sleeps 5-6. This cabin is in the valley of the mountains and sprayed monthly. We can not prevent insects from taking their course when windows and doors are opened. Visit our resident mini donkey and horses down the hill. Pet friendly. Pet fee is always due upon arrival. No wifi.
This cabin is located on Shields Mountain with a view.

We loved staying here. The cabin is very cozy. It’s very private, and we loved feeling at home. We loved hearing the birds throughout the day. The sunsets and sunrises are beautiful! It’s not too far from the Great Smokey’s either. The driveway was a bit tricky, as it is steep, but we managed in our minivan. I would recommend a four-wheel drive or park at the bottom and walk up. The jacuzzi does not have enough warm water, but it did not bother us. The host is so friendly and accommodating.

Not great.

The driveway coming up was horrible, needs to be paved out. Our vehicle barely made it up the hill. The toilet in the bathroom only worked properly half the time, even with the instructions given. The bed was very noisy and sounded like plastic was covering it. The jacuzzi didn’t even heat up properly for us to enjoy it. The booking says it has wifi but doesn't. Overall not great but the property was nice; very quiet and the view was good.

Could of been better

Hot water tank is not big enough for the jacuzzi. Would only fill 1/4 of the way before running out of hot water! So it is useless. The beds a very old and uncomfortable. They are lumpy and covered with noisy plastic. But the view and cabin are beautiful. The decor is just gorgeous.
