In 1999 I began my search for the perfect house in western North Carolina. Having gotten addicted to whitewater rafting and hiking in North Georgia and southwest North Carolina over the previous 5 years I was eager to find my piece of heaven in the area. I was ready to escape my busy corporate life and the hectic pace of Florida.
I had a long list of “Must Haves”; A perfect view of the mountains, seclusion, NO road noise (this was a biggie for me), no neighbors close by, a large piece of land, easy access to whitewater rivers, lakes, hiking and finally a small-town feel.
I spent over a year visiting North Georgia, Franklin, Maggie Valley, Sylva, Asheville, and many more towns in North Carolina.
I’d never heard of Murphy but had received some literature from a realtor about the area.
I looked at several houses and then when I got to Eagles Nest it was love at first sight. I walked around the house onto the deck and it was a done deal. This house checked off every box on my wish list. The inside needed a lot of work, which I've lovingly put into it over the years and it’s been well worth it. I continue to do upgrades to cabin to keep it beautiful for you, my guests.
I hope you can visit and share a little piece of my heaven and enjoy all Murphy and the surrounding areas have to offer.
