We enjoyed our stay and the home was listed accurately. Beds were very comfortable. The unit is very dated and needs some tlc on upgrades. New carpet, painting where patch work has been done. Although the basics were clean it could use a deep clean as there were cob webs in the bathroom and other places.

Reviewer Comments: the cabin kitchen blinds and refrig were dirty. the master bedroom looked as if it had not been cleaned under the bed all year. the 2nd bathroom had hair in the sink and on the wall.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been staying at Mountain Laurel properties for over 20 years and this was our worst experience. The place was not clean when we arrived. Spider webs everywhere, hot tub was not heated and the pad to change setting on the hot tub was old and hard to use. There is a metal piece separating the carpet and tile in various areas and it is sharp and unsafe. The fridge had an odor to it and there was no ice available. It just appeared no one had stayed in this place for quite awhile. The driveway was very easy to get into but small. Also if you like bears this is the placed for you.

Pleasant Getaway

Reviewer Comments: Alpine Getaway was very clean. Everything thing that you needed was there. Our only "complaint" was with the TV's...you need an instruction manual as to how to operate the TV's. 3 remotes for one television in the living room and 2 for the set in the bedroom. But that was a minor annoyance. Beautiful property, wonderful vacation. We didn't have any issues with check-in or check-out...everything went smoothly.

Little outdated but love Mtn Laurel!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I've stayed with Mtn Laurel probably 20+ times over the past 15 years and I'll never stay elsewhere. Although this chalet is outdated a bit, it accommodated all of our needs, was clean, jacuzzi clean and working well, kitchen stocked well, the whole 9. When you're in there standing in the living room looking at the 2 bedrooms, the right bed is springs and the left bed is a memory foam style. Since there was only 1 couple of us, we slept in both and preferred the memory foam but that bathroom on that side has a shower head that halfway works and needs switched out. All in all, chalet is a 3 but Mtn Laurel and their guest services and friendliness is always a 5. Will be back soon!!

Good Cabin for Older Folks

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Enjoyed the cabin and all its facilities(except the pool table upstairs). The furniture and accessories are outdated but functional. The vinyl living room furniture was uncomfortable but clean. The smart TV's were an added bonus and all appliances etc worked well. It does need updating especially the carpet and the deck.The parking spot was easy compared to some of the cabins' steep driveways. Also the winding stairs to the second level are very tricky to navigate.

The drive up the mountain was steep-you just had to be careful. It was very nice to come back to -quiet! We really enjoyed the hot tub! The one bathroom's shower head needs cleaned or changed out. Reviewer Comments: For the most part we very much enjoyed our stay at this little cabin. It was very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The downside was that it was one of the older cabins it seemed. The carpeting throughout had a few stains and was buckling in a couple of places. We were not too crazy about the deck because the woods and trees were right up on the deck and the deck was very low to the ground so in the evenings we did not feel really safe sitting outside. I feel the trees and wooded area needed to be slightly trimmed back away from the deck area

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great place. Plenty of room for the two of us (plenty of room for four, actually), clean, well appointed, and quiet. Ample parking area and easiest access to street that you'll find in this area. And, since it's on the upper limits of the mountain, the traffic passing by is minimal. Only a couple of minor issues: the hot tub was more of a "warm" tub (someone needs to adjust the thermostat) and there was only a small waste basket for the kitchen (a $4 fix). We'll definitely be using this cabin again.

Amazing Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First impression was great, lights were left on for us so we didn't walk into a dark unknown place. The place was beautifully decorated, king size beds in both rooms plus room for more to sleep if needed on couches or room for an air bed if you bring one. One thing to beware of is the circle stairs if you have a little one running around. It's definitely high in the mountains, which didn't bother us but does take time getting to and from Gatlinburg. The only downside was the hot tub jets only worked on one side so I'd let them know so they can fix it.

Disappointed and dirty

This property was full of mold in both bathrooms. There is no ventilation fan in either bathroom and it looks like they just caulk or paint over the mold. This is awful to breathe, especially with allergies!! There is only one fire alarm in the whole property. The brown carpet was gross and needs to be ripped out. Keep your shoes on. Size of place was great for family of 4. Stair are dangerous and steep, we didn’t allow kids up there. It doesn’t seem like they deep clean between guests or ever. Location was great and access to pools was awesome. This place would be perfect after a complete gut and deep cleaning.

My experience

The home was pretty decent despite bed bugs that bit me and my sons pretty good. We had bite markers everywhere the next morning. Also, we woke up the next morning with 3 huge BEARS on our back porch. Our car had been broken into and scratch up very badly and ran through. I’m from the city so seeing bears aren’t normal this was very terrifying to my children and I. There should be some kind of details like on the refrigerator on what to do if you encounter bears. The bears and the bed bugs resulted to us leaving a day early. HOWEVER, the home was nice could use a bit updating. But great location and great scenery

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The place was a perfect retreat for our family of 4. There was a pool table in the loft that was used daily. We made use of the charcoal grill and the hot tub on the back deck. The view is a wooded one. The kitchen has all of the basics and you can eat inside or outside. We cooked a lot and Food City, Kroger and Publix are the grocery stores to shop at. The Walmart was just too crowded and was out of everything. We saw several bears and one kept getting into the trash. One day they opened the cage pulled out the trash cans and carried one into the woods! My son found it the next day. Once we were used to the mountain roads, getting to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge was easy. After a day at Dollywood we ordered a pizza from Ski Mountain Pizza, would definitely recommend. The only complaint I have is that the dishwasher didn't work and the week went too fast!

My review

It was pretty much great for what I needed it for. However, trash was all over the yard and the futon in the loft had a bent frame, which is all very unattractive. It would be great if the house had items like dustpan and maybe a bundle of firewood for first fire, perhaps. For the daily price plus the cleaning fee, it should look and be a lot cleaner.

It was my first time in the cabins and I had a great experience. The only issue I had was that on the description about the cabin it said 2 hot tubs in the bathrooms and neither room had one.
