Gem in a box!

This newly remodeled interior home has spacious 10' ceilings and elegant finishes. Each room includes high end mattresses, spacious closets, drawers, ceiling fan and their own 50" Samsung television. The living room is filled with cozy recliners for you to enjoy. The kitchen has a big quartz island for everyone to gather around and a big counter space for you to place your items while your cook. The master room has its own full bathroom w/ tub and the other 4 bedrooms share two full bathrooms, one with tub and the other with a shower. Lastly, the home has a large washer and dryer for the family to quickly get clean clothe.

Every comfort and amenity was provided. The host even provided a gallon of milk in the refrig for our family! The house was spotless, incredibly spacious, and beautifully decorated. All 10 of us sleep so well and loved the house. It was a magical weekend for my son's wedding.

Nicely remodeled, well stocked

We spent a long weekend here with a group of friends and enjoyed our stay. The kitchen and bathrooms were really thoughtfully well stocked, with all the cooking tools we were looking for, spices, snacks, coffee and more. Check-in and checkout were incredibly easy, and the host responded quickly to any questions that came up.

Clean and Convenient

I stayed in the gem with my husband and two adult children. It was perfectly set-up for our needs and the hosts were incredibly welcoming and thoughtful. There were delicious snacks, great coffee and a well appointed kitchen.

Booking this house was easy and the response was great. Checking in was very easy as all information needed was sent the day before I was to arrive. The house was exactly like the pictures. This is the first house I stayed at that was well stocked in the kitchen and bathrooms with things I usually have to go to the store and buy. The house was very spacious. My family and I really enjoyed being there. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a place to stay and the price was well worth it.

There were 14 of us! Plenty of space for all! We rented this home (our home away from home) Memorial Day weekend, 2026. My sons from NC & MD & their families along with my daughter from PA & her family all gathered here for the weekend. The owner even set up a crib for us to use for the baby. He responded to every message promptly. The house was very clean, with many unexpected surprises (well stocked snack bar, coffee bar, sodas in wine frig, fresh fruit, gallon of milk in frig, too many to mention). There is a large island & a very workable kitchen. You will not be disappointed! Beds were very comfortable. There were more than enough towels. It has a back yard, partially fenced, for kids to play in. Very convenient to the main highway & stores. Lots of Thrift Stores in the area. It is in a little residential neighborhood. Lots of parking. All one floor so little ones are safe. I have never stayed at a place that has it all! This place far exceeds what I was expecting or hoped for for my family. This is an owner who truly takes pride in his property & it shows. Thank you Gustavo!

Incredibly clean and thoughtfully stocked

We had a large group traveling from all over the country and this house met all of our needs! The house was spotlessly clean and somehow stocked with all the things we forgot at home. The owner knew we had children traveling with us and left thoughtful touches like fresh fruit, fresh milk, and popsicles in the freezer for the kids. If you are traveling with a large group, this is the place to stay!

Perfect stay

This is our group’s second stay at the Gem in a Box! and we were just as thrilled to be there as the first visit! We play an annual sports tournament that serves as a small friend reunion and it could not be better suited for our needs. The basics like having more than enough towels, beds, and shower space already exceeds expectations. But Gustavo goes above and beyond with hospitality to make our weekend together extra special. I can’t wait to be back next year!

Perfect for teams & groups

My team stayed for 3 nights for a tournament and it was absolutely perfect. Gustavo went above and beyond providing for us— the house was STOCKED up on snacks, soda, herbs and spices and cooking equipment, and fresh flowers! It’s rare to stay somewhere with enough towels to cover us for a tournament weekend’s worth of showers but we never wanted for anything. We hope to be back next year!

Exceeded all expectations!

We used this property to host some out of town guests and everything about it exceeded our expectations. The home was fully stocked with literally anything and everything you could possibly need! The host went above and beyond anything that I’ve ever seen at a VRBO. Just to give an example, there were fresh flowers in every room, fresh fruit, and drinks & snacks! Our guests kept talking about how impressed they were. We will definitely be back!

This is not a Gem in a Box, It is a Diamond!!!

from the outside of the house you would not even believe how amazing the inside was. It was gorgeous. It looked like it had all just been redone. Every room (all 5 bedrooms), and the living room had smart TVs. The furniture was obviously brand new, as was everything else in the house. There was shampoo and conditioner in every bathroom, plenty of towels and wash clothes. There was even a steamer in every closet. There were buckets of toiletries in every closet, There was a ton of coffee pods, there was cereal, spices. Tons of plates even plastic plates and plastic ware. There was not anything missing. It was absolutely beautiful. The decorating was amazing. Everything was labeled. The furniture was all very comfortable. We had a wonderful stay! Thank you for making the place so great!

Perfect Home Away from Home

My parents (79 & 84) and I stayed at Gem in a Box for a long weekend to attend a wedding. Let me start by saying traveling isn't easy for my parents, still they were extremely comfortable and couldn't say enough about it. It's great for a family with kids too. This spacious and comfortable property couldn't have been nicer! Extra-comfortable beds, room darkening curtains, nice-sized bedrooms and huge common spaces, outlets with USB ports... the sofa has motorized reclining chairs also with USB outlets (big hit with the parents - and me too!). Attention to every detail. And I mean every detail! The property is well located in terms of navigating the historic Fredericksburg VA area and access to stores, etc., but not really walkable. We arrived to a few lovely surprises - I'll leave those for you to discover the way we did. I will say that they were very welcoming and helped us settle in. Gustavo was wonderful with communication and assisting me with my reservation. If you're thinking about staying at Gem in a Box don't hesitate to book the property - you'll be so glad you did!

I can not begin to explain how absolutely amazing this home and owners are. I had previously booked another location a few months prior from a different VRBO. Without notice they cancelled my reservation. In a scramble I booked this home and reached out to the owner because I was paranoid of another cancellation. He responded immediately and assured me that he would not cancel. We were in town for a family wedding. There were 8 adults in our group and everyone was impressed. The house was clean and immaculate And stocked with everything you could need! There were fresh flowers in every room. There was a huge basket of fruit waiting for us. They had cereal and milk stocked along with other food items that you might need, Endless snacks. We didn’t even really have to grocery shop that much since we were out and about mostly. I’ve stayed at many vrbos in the past and this was by far THE BEST!!! My family was so impressed and felt so comfortable in this space. 10/10 book now!!

Gustavo’s 5-bedroom “Gem in a Box” was absolutely amazing! The home is even better in person, beautiful, spacious, and perfect for my family visiting from all over the country. The fresh fruit, cold refreshments, and flowers were such a thoughtful welcome. Check-in and checkout were both seamless, and Gustavo was an exceptional host and always so quick to respond. We truly felt at home and would definitely stay again!

This property used to be an abandoned building two years ago but we poured our life into it to bring it back to life since we knew it was in a great location.

This home is my other baby. Everything in this property was made with quality. I was personally involved in every aspect of this build, including installing the plumbing, picking out the colors of the paint, dealing with inspectors and even blowing the insulation in the attic.
