Delightful doesn't even begin to describe how lovely our stay was at this Carmel home.
My girlfriend and I escaped from Palo Alto with another couple to Whispering Waves for the weekend and we never wanted to leave.
The drive to the property was straightforward and clear. The house is right off of the main street in the town - making everything within easy walking distance.
When we arrived, much to our delight, there was wine and fresh gourmet goat cheese and crackers waiting for us!!
The rooms themselves were nicely apportioned. The living room had a wood-burning fireplace, two plush recliners, and a cozy couch.
The kitchen was fully stocked with brand new utensils, cookware, dishwasher, gas-burning stove, clean oven, gigantic refrigerator, and packets of coffee and tea ready for the next morning. Our bedroom (the master bedroom) had an electric fireplace, full bathroom, and cozy king-sized bed. The guest bedroom had a queen-sized bed and was next to another full bathroom, making things easy for a group of 4.
My favorite part about the place overall though was the skylights: Practically every room in the house had a skylight so natural light was always flooding through the house.
As far as location is concerned - everyone LOVED where the house was situated. A 5 minute walk in one direction would place you smack in the center of Ocean Avenue with coffee shops, boutiques, restaurants, art galleries, and wine tasting rooms literally surrounding you. Another 5 minute walk in the opposite direction would land you on the beach.
The morning run through the neighborhood and up to Carmel Point was fantastic. Watching the fog roll back from the sea along a green, rocky coastline from a smooth sand beach was arguably one of the most gorgeous views we'd ever seen.
If you need a break from any kind of stress at work or just want to clear your head in a cheerful place, Whispering Waves is absolutely for you. We cannot recommend it highly enough.
