Great location

The condo was spacious and our kids loved the pool and hot tub. It was a great location close to the beach, 5th Ave and a large supermarket. The condo isn’t well stocked with some of the essentials, such as iron, broom, frying pans, etc. Also, we experienced some delays in communicating with the property manager - several messages when unanswered.

Great location - poor management

The apartment is nice. Could use some remodeling, it's a little old. Some items like wine glasses and BBQ were listed on the description, but were not available. Great location. Be aware if you have to cars. The listing says it's not a problem if you have 2 cars, but that's only if parking is available for the second car. Little annoying.. Communication is really bad. They never sent any instructions upon arrival. I had to contact them directly. Got charged $10/ towel after checkout. They claimed the towels were stained before even washing them.

When I arrived a young man came to show me my condo. I originally a 2 bedroom condo with a washer & dryer which was important to me because I was staying a month. I was told I was being upgraded prior to my arrival. It was OK with me and I verified that it had a washer & dryer, I was told absolutely & now I had a 3 bedroom, it was only me so I found this a bit much but OK. When I arrived I was taken to the condo and shown around - NO DRYER! Hot water also had to be fixed, once fixed had to turn towards cold for hot. Eventually I was given a key to the condo below me to use dryer. It was a pain! And I almost walked in on a family because I was told it would be empty. A big mess after that to get my clothes dried. At this same time there was poop in the pool, it was shut down for 24 hours and a pipe broke outside and we had no water for a day and 1/2. I think the dog that roamed free probably pooped and it got in the pool. Owners of the dog I never saw. If you are not on the top floor and the unit above you is occupied you will hear everything! As far as location I thought it was great. 2 blocks to 5th Ave. 3 blocks to the beach, grocery store at the end of the street. A few nice restaurants at the end of the block not on 5th Ave. I was given a rebate for the day the water went out but I had to show proof and request it myself.I love Playa and I'll be back but not sure I would go back to this particular property.BTW I was told the young man who initially met me and that gave me the key for the dryer use was let go.

The best thing about the apartment is the location. It is very close to beach, shops and great restaurants but far enough from the tourist/party section of the city to avoid noise. The apartment is advertised for 10 people but there were 8 beds - i guess the other 2 are supposed to sleep on the couch - but for our 3 couple entourage it was perfect. The materials and furniture are nice. However, the plumbing is not very good quality - the sinks were leaking and toilet kept flushing. It doesn't matter too much but wastes water. The pool area is really, really nice!If i come back to Playa del Carmen i could definitely come back to this apartment.

Our stay at the Sabbia in Playa Del Carmen

Friendly people, very close to 5th Avenue and all the excitement with the shopping ,restaurants and excitement. Beautiful pool and beaches close at hand. The staff of Playa Moments were attentive to our needs and did all they could to make our stay enjoyable. Luna was our main contact and she was amazing with all her duties still found time to make sure our needs were met. Our only regret was the construction of other condo's be built adjacent to where our unit was .Got very noisy and a lot of dust at times. Of course Playa Moments had no control over that situation and did what they could to minimize the negative affect to us. All and all we had a great time and have booked another 6 weeks for next year.

The apartment is fully equipped and has all we needed to spend a nice time there. My family was impressed of how cleaned was and for te attemptive service that Playa Moments' staff offered us! The rent included all services, an excellent wi-fi connection which was helpful as I had to work few hours during the afternoons. Bedrooms with en suite bathrooms results as privacy to all of us, each with its own space and all together when ready to go out! It was an amazing experience we will surely do again soon! Relaxing week in Playa del Carmen

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great week at Sabbia. Our apartment was clean and looked new, and I was surprised to hear that the building was 5 years old. The beds were large and comfortable, and the location was great- a few blocks from downtown but once inside the complex you couldn't tell how close you were to everything. Because it was low season, we were able to park both of our rental cars below the building in the secure parking lot, so ask if you have two cars. They gave us the spot for another PlayaMoments vacant apartment. If you want a refill on the water cooler, be sure give a day or two notice, but the ladies in the Playa moments office answered our questions quickly.

Walking distance to beach, 5th Ave, shops, stores, etc. but very quiet at night.Very nice pool facilities and courtyard. Condo in good shape and internet was solid was well.Parking no problem and overall service good.Cons: Was told unit was on first floor but actually on third. Elevator so ok but not as advertised.No cleaning service included in the price which was a bit misleading and odd. No basics in the condo like salt and pepper, coffee filters, trash bags. The hot tubs need to be hotter. More "warm tubs".Required to wear tacky plastic wristbands for the week. They need a better option for this.Minor issues in all.The property was very nice and well maintained (especially for Mexico) and the concierge was helpful.Both restaurants next door were excellent (Italian and Mexican).Would definitely recommend this place and the management company that runs it.Overall a very good stay with just a few, minor items to fix.Thanks for a great stay!

Reviewer Comments: the condo was very nice. it was large enough to accommodate 8 comfortably. the kitchen was fully equipped and it was conveniently located near several grocery stores, fifth avenue. the swimming pool was cold, the hot tubs were about normal swimming pool temperature. the sabbia was clean and well maintained. the property management staff were not very quick to fix problems. the water cooler leaked all over the kitchen, and they did send someone to clean up the mess, but it took days to get a replacement dispenser, and didn't get a replacement cooler for the remainder of our stay- 5 days. we did want a tour and discuss costs of owning, but were unable to arrange it

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of this property was very convenient to 5th avenue, including many shops and restaurants. The walk to the beach was a bit further than I would like (approx 15 min to Mamitas Beach Club) Not a bad walk but I'd prefer to be a bit closer. The pool looked nice though we never did use it. The Hot tubs were lukewarm at best. We had booked a 2 bedroom open air unit with the living room and kitchen outside. When we arrived to check in we were informed we had been "upgraded". The unit available for us was a standard condo with the living room and kitchen inside and the view from our balcony looked right into a concrete wall. I intentionally booked the open air unit which overlooked the pool area in order to take advantage of the warm Mexican weather as much as possible. I was unhappy about being put into a unit that I did not want and did not pay for. We agreed to spend the first night in the "upgraded" unit and we were told they would allow us to move into "our unit" the next day. Since we had already booked an all day excursion for the following day, we were told to have everything packed and they would move all of our luggage, including the food we had bought, into our original unit for us. Of course when we arrived back at 6:00 pm nothing had been done, they told us to shower and then our place would be ready. We did finally get into our place but 2 frustrating days of not being able to unpack our suitcase convinced me I would not rent from this property managment company again and would not recommend them either. We have traveled to Mexico for the last 6 years and this was the only time an issue like this has happened.
