We had a wonderful time staying here. The home is old and lovingly maintained. Clean and spacious. Perfect location for star gazing at Cherry Springs and so close to many hiking trails. Would definitely stay here again to explore more of what this area has to offer.

This was a great property for our family visiting for the Snake Hunt at CrossForks. We did have an elderly person with us, so please be aware that the steps to the second floor are pretty steep. She was able to make it up and down one time each day .... but keep that in mind depending on who is in your group.

Elk were very exciting for our grandchildren

The farm house is everything we hoped for. Perfect place to view the stars, and peaceful and quiet for a weekend with no devices. The hosts were very attentive and responded quickly to anything we needed.

We enjoyed our stay very much. However the house needs some cleaning and the pots and pans need to be replaced.

The farmhouse was perfect for star gazing. The owner Benn and his family were very hospitable, responded quickly to my questions and provided us with good information about the area. We also enjoyed watching the sheep, horses, cows and Carlos the bull. Would definitely consider going again.

Lovely stay

We loved staying at the farmhouse and being surrounded by nature and beautiful views. Walking the property, sitting on the porch, hanging around the Firepit and stargazing were highlights. We also visited Lyman Run for swimming and fishing.

Perfect getaway

This was our second stay in the last two years and we will definitely go back next year. Tho use fits us all and has a great location. Owner is super responsive and is very responsive.

We had a terrific visit to this farm. Cows. Wildlife. Stars. Everything was just as we expected it. Hosts were very kind, giving recommendations to local sights. Definitely recommended!

Absolutely Amazing!!!

This house checked every box for us! We got to do some “glamping”and exploring the Potter/Tioga area. The proximity to Cherry Springs was perfect! Not too far, and just enough for the kids to be ready for bed. Owner is very responsive to questions and answers in a timely manner. Our kids absolutely loved it!!!
The kitchen cabinets are GORGEOUS!
This room was a perfect room to play games in.
The barn wood was my favorite!!

Wishing on a star

We loved our stay! We’ve been talking about seeing the stars in Cherry Springs for about two years and finally made the trip. Unfortunately due to the wildfire smoke, we didn’t get to see barely any stars but we had a blast regardless!

Thanksgiving family gathering

Warm and inviting home out in the country. House was clean and well maintained. We were charmed by the rustic but very comfortably equipped roomy house and the hospitality of the owners. Enjoyed the chickens roaming the yard and the beauty of nature all around. Definitely want to return!

Wonderful Location

We choose this location for a weekend getaway. The home was very clean and comfortable. The fresh baked bread and fresh eggs from Ben and Thankful was a nice touch. The view of the sky was exactly why we had chose this home. No need to go to Cherry Creek State park to view the skies. It was phenomenal and we cannot wait to return. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Lovely getaway with fire and friends

Super friendly dog was roaming the property and came up to us to be pet! (She wasn't wearing a collar but we assume she belongs to the farm.) Also cute cows <3

Weekend away.

We had a lovely weekend despite the cloudy/rainy weather. We missed seeing stars but, weather is not predictable months out! Our only issue was the stairs. They were taller than present day stairs code for stairs. A bit of a challenge for a group of retired seniors.

Awesome quiet and private location!

We stayed here for our annual fraternity brother fishing trip and were very impressed with the overall accommodations. The house slept 8 very comfortably and there was plenty of room for us all to sit around the dining room table for meals and card games. The fire pit is awesome and the big covered porch gave us plenty of outdoor space if it rained. At our age (70) the steps the the second floor (where all the bedrooms are located) were a little tricky (high risers) - but if you take your time you’ll be fine. Kitchen was very clean and well stocked. The star gazing was amazing (on the nights that were clear) and you could clearly see many satellites crossing with the naked eye. Hosts were very respectful and responsive. Highly recommend for families or larger groups.

Back again

This is the second time we stayed at this property! First time was a full moon and didnt see the stars we wanted. This time it was a new moon (no moonlight) and the stars were epic! We have decided to make this weekend trip every year. Bring your own food in a cooler because the grocery store is about 50 minutes away. Benn was great to work with. The house has the old haunted farm house charm we love!

I was born and raised in Coudersport. After meeting my wife and graduating from Penn State we moved back to the area. I had met the previous owner of the farm while working on their grounds.
We currently live and raise our family on a sheep farm in Potter County. We strive to provide a childhood of years gone past

We purchased the farmhouse and 34 acres in 2000 and bought the remainder of the farm years later. Over the years we have improved much of the house with the latest being a new barn roof this past summer.
I love the peace and quiet here. However the winters can be long between Christmas and Spring.

We are 20 minutes from the nearest traffic light. Our farm is bordered on three sides by 250,000 acres of State Forest land. Public access to these areas allows for many outdoor activities. We are the last permanent residence on Short Run Road and may only see the mailman each day in the winter.
