Great place right on the Gulf. House was clean and well laid out. We had a great time. Only issue was the lack of an internet connection. 5G cell phone access compensated somewhat. Dish tv worked fine.

Much Needed Getaway

3rd spring break on the island 1st year at this property, sunrise coffee and sunset beverage on the deck is the perfect stress relief.

Wonderful location!

Awesome location on the Gulf. Very clean. Only issue was not enough forks for a large family, if you can call that an issue. Would definitely stay here again!

Christmas on Dauphin Island!

We had a wonderful Christmas stay on Dauphin Island! The house was beautiful, and the views were awesome! Enjoyed walking the West End of Dauphin Island with our dogs!

The place was amazing, small hiccup with the AC unit but that was fixed in no time. Will definitely be coming back next year.

Fantastic location

Property was clean, and as described. Location on west end was fantastic! We especially loved the back deck and dolphins swimming by every morning. It was nice that the back deck didn't have any access other than through the house, because our dogs were able to enjoy lounging on the deck with us. Our kids loved the themed bedrooms. Being critical, the grill and dishwasher racks were rusted out and needing to be replaced, and a better way to rinse sand off and not track it into the house would have been helpful. Overall, not an issue that would keep us from choosing this property again. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Amazing and Relaxing

The property is amazing. Was able to view dolphins as close as 25 yards right off the back deck. Seen dolphins nearly every day. The sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking. I don't think I've ever seen more beautiful sunsets. It was a much needed relaxing vacation.

Beautiful location

The property was fantastic, except for the horrible mattresses. I've had back surgery and not a single bed was comfortable for me. Otherwise, the location, decorations, and set up was perfect.

Unforgettable!!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay!!! It’s amazing to feel the waves as they hit the seawall and the sound is so relaxing. We loved fishing off the seawall at night. Being so far out in the ocean, is a whole different beach experience!! We will definitely be back!!! Thank you for an amazing trip. The only problem we had was the dishwasher wouldn’t work (could have been operator error) and the master shower would drain super slow. Neither issue would deter us from renting it again!!

Great time on Dauphin Island

This property was perfect for my family! We had 4 young children (all 5 and under), two sets of parents and me (grandma). We loved that the back deck was completely enclosed with only access from the house. It was a great safe place to hangout with the children and watch the sunsets and the dolphins swim by. We enjoyed the beach and the local aquarium! It was a wonderful time spent together with my grown children and grandchildren. The kitchen was well appointed, even came with a blender for smoothies and pina coladas! Definitely will rent this house again!

Loved house! Hated wifi!

Wifi was awful!!! Couldn't even make calls. This is bad because if there was an emergency we had no way of calling out.

Awesome family stress free vacay!!

We really enjoyed our stay!! The only suggestions I could give would be that some sort of walkway be made from the steps to the drive to keep from bringing half of the beach with you to your vehicle. Also I noticed on some of the other houses on the road a lift to carry the luggage. That would be really helpful since those steps are a beast when you have to make multiple trips with luggage. The only other thing is that the air conditioner had a hard time keeping the SW bed rooms cool so maybe some oscillating fans in those rooms would be helpful. All of that being said we are already planning next years trip back and can’t wait!!! Thanks so much for being wonderful host!!

beach walking get away

On the positive side: We really enjoyed the location of the property in that it was nearly the last house before miles of beach to walk on (dogs not welcome on that beach, but are fine on the public beach a short distance away). There was a little area of private beach right at the house that was very sweet and clean and nice to sit and read a book or just listen to the waves and step in the water. It was very easy to access the home with the key code, and we found everything that we expected and needed inside. The back balcony picnic table was very nice to sit on and watch the sunset in the evening or play cards. We watched dolphins fishing right off the balcony. We caught a few speckled trout and some Atlantic spade fish. On the down side: The grill did not work (?perhaps just needs maintenance?), it was a little dirty: the housekeeper had not checked underneath sofas and chairs for quite some time, the carpet in the room I stayed in smelled like dog urine, toilet paper hanger was broken and had been placed in a window sill. There were some cockroaches about. I would guess they have multiple rentals and had not laid eyes on this place themselves in awhile. Wouldn't take much to clean it up.

Will DEFINITELY stay here again

We will DEFINITELY stay here again. The owners were fantastic people, and greeted us several times. We arrived just a few days after Hurricane Ida and they were doing everything possible to make our stay great. They even had to rebuild the parking area, literally as we were pulling up. Incredible over the top effort, thank you. You will be staying literally in the Gulf of Mexico. Most of the house, the supporting pylons, are Gulfside of the slope of the beach. At first we were taken aback, but really enjoyed the unique venue. We didnt fish, but you definitely could fish from the seawall on the front of the house, several boats were fishing there. You are at the end of the road, right next to the dune park, which is so refreshing to be near an undeveloped area. We had a storm come through and it should be noted that for some of the big waves, the house sways notably. It did not bother us, but it might be a little unsettling for some, so just know what you are getting. We liked it. Bring your food, cook at the house, you will be happy to see the sunset, instead of going to the restaurants (maybe for a beer or so). It's a unique and great location.

Beautiful gulf home!

Extremely easy process to rent. Quick to respond to questions or requests. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. Home was very nice and clean. We would love to go back!!

Needs a maintence inspection/attention, view was great.

Loved the whole idea, not our 1st rodeo. That being said...Holes in the walls & you can see straight through. Layer of sand through out the house upon arrival. Petrified "something" in 2 different spots on the back deck. Hose on front porch (for rinsing off); spicket (not on gulf side) rotted off. No outdoor trash receptacle, one was spray painted with this property # on it but the folks at the front of this property (street side) had it at the their house (in stair well) and it was full. Then came the TS Gordon, we were told to evacuate by 2 different associates 20 minutes apart; so we did. Threw all of your groceries away, etc. Told by EMS in marked SUV on the way out of town, that there was NOT an evacuation order & probably would not be until "maybe" the next day. We had planned on returning here every 3 months or so. Unfortunately @ the time, we didn't realize how SUPERB the associates and owners with VRBO/Home Away were @ Virginia Beach, VA & Myrtle Beach, SC & Duck, NC & Biloxi, MS & Venice Beach, FL, etc. Comparatively speaking, this rental person lacks the etiquette and temperament for this business. Lovely area!
