Country Living on 1 acre just minutes from Berkeley/Oakland
Come relax and refresh at our country retreat on 1 acre in the heart of the Bay Area, just 15 minutes drive to Berkeley/Oakland. This property is a holdover from the time when El Sobrante was a farming area with cattle and sheep grazing. We are surrounded by other 1-3 acre properties. You will enjoy spectacular views of Pinole Valley and Wildcat Canyon Regional Park (2,500 acres) which is just a 5 minute drive from the house. Our home is a Spanish style ranch house with tile floors throughout, plenty of rugs for comfort underfoot, wood beams, a wood-burning fireplace and a completely renovated bathroom. There is a back deck with wonderful valley views and comfortable outdoor furniture, the best spot for morning coffee. In the front of the house is large courtyard with an outdoor dining area and a smaller coffee table encircled by colorful shrubs and cafe lights. The perfect spot for an outdoor summer meal.
On arrival you come to a hidden large area of land
where this cozy house has modern amenities overall. Cozy family area, cushions, games and television. Outside porch overlooking backyard and neighboring goats. The front has many plants, flowers, small trees. Lots of privacy, table areas that we just did not get a chance to use much. My family enjoyed the quiet and peaceful atmosphere, that we’d come again. We were only here a few days to see neighboring family. We hope to see the sights next time. Liz K.

Staying in the San Francisco Bay Area
First, the pictures are accurate, but don't fully convey how peaceful this property is. The gardens surrounding the home are filled with different plants (some edible) and birds. The gardens inspired us to want to do something similar with our yard. The location is perfect. We were never more than 20-30 miles away from any of the sites in SF or wine country. This place is the perfect place to relax after being around crowds and traffic most of the day. Have a glass of wine, sit out on one of the patios. The owner, Michelle, is awesome. She greeted us on the first day and showed us around. The packet she sent us describing the area and check-in included lots of good info including places to hike and some good local restaurants like Sue's Kitchen. I'll mention the small things too. The beds were comfortable. The water pressure was great. There was plenty of space for the 5 of us. And, of course, there are very friendly goats next door.
