Villa Reef was absolutely amazing. They definitely care about their guests and it shows in all the touches in the villa. There is everything you could think of in the kitchen, the rooms were lovely but best of all was the location and view. We could snorkel, paddle board and kayak right off the dock. Amir, the concierge was amazing at helping out with whatever questions we had and arranged the 15 minute water taxis to and from town. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone. Absolutely wonderful stay!

Unfortunately, our six-night stay at Villa Reef was very disappointing. Upon arrival, we were told the AC was not working, which was one of the main reasons we chose this property. Without AC, we had to keep the doors and windows open, allowing bats into the house when lights were on at night.The fishing poles, clear paddle board hot tub on deck broken, black residue came from the main bathroom faucet, and there was inadequate water pressure for the washing machine. On our final day, we lost power, water, and Wi-Fi. The home runs on solar but has no backup generator, leaving us unable to shower or flush the toilets.We immediately notified the owner, but the issues weren't resolved during our stay.Overall, the property did not meet the standard or amenities we expected and paid for.

This was the WORST GUEST we have Ever had !!! I feel it is important to clarify several statements in this review for the benefit of future guests, this guest is DISHONEST! Unfortunately, this guest began requesting financial compensation almost immediately after arrival, and when we were unable to accommodate the compensation being requested, the situation became increasingly contentious. We strongly dispute the accuracy of several claims made in this review and have submitted the matter to Vrbo for review. Regarding the A/C, we acknowledge that there was an unexpected issue during this stay. The system has since been repaired and is fully operational. We also want to correct an important statement regarding backup power. Villa Reef DOES, in fact, have a substantial 22,000-watt propane backup generator. Therefore, the statement that the property has “no backup generator” is incorrect. As with any island/off-grid waterfront property, occasional interruptions involving utilities or equipment can occur, but we take maintenance seriously and work to address legitimate issues as quickly as possible. We encourage anyone considering a stay to review the overall history of our guest experiences and contact us directly with any questions about the home or its amenities. We remain committed to providing our guests with the private, unique over-the-water experience. Happy to provide pictures or video to any future guests for peace of mind (before booking). Thank you.

Unforgettable Stay with Air Conditioning ComfortAbsolutely incredible stay! The bungalow is stunning, right over the water with gorgeous views in every direction. Inside it had everything we needed, including a full kitchen, washer/dryer, fast WiFi, and the air conditioning was a lifesaver in the tropical heat. The private deck with hot tub and steps straight into the ocean made it feel like our own little paradise. The host was super helpful, even setting up our airport pickup and water taxi, which made everything easy. Could not recommend this place more, we can’t wait to come back!

I would highly recommend this bungalow. If you want fantastic views and seclusion it is perfect. You do have a few neighbors but you have privacy. You do need to take a water taxi and the cost is approx 35 each way to town. You are 10 minutes from Starfish Beach which is absolutely beautiful. This is an eco lodge that is run on solar but we did not find this to be of any inconvenience. Very well decorated and the furnishings very nice. I would absolutely stay here again. The only negative is the fishing equipment needs updated. There are kayaks and paddle boards but we did not use them. We mainly snorkeled around the home.

Paradise

It's just as it looks, incredible. We had a little hiccup upon arrival and Alex fixed it with grace and speed! Jahir was second to none and we had the best time. Already working out dates to rebook for next year. Know that each trip to town is roughly 12 each person/each way, so you should plan in advance when you want to travel in and/or just chill at the bungalow. It's the best adventure. Enjoy!

For a peaceful retreat surrounded by water in every direction, Villa Reef is the perfect escape. From the moment the water taxi arrived, it was clear this was a truly special place. Thoughtfully designed, the home offers fantastic outdoor spaces and even a small pool for a refreshing dip—perfect if you want an alternative to the sea.Jahir, the concierge, was always just a call away, ready to arrange food deliveries, groceries, or activities with ease. He and Mellisa, who keeps the home spotless go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, always offering their help with genuine warmth.Just 15 minutes from Bocas Town, yet worlds away in serenity, Villa Reef is an unforgettable getaway.

This is a very quiet over-the-water house. It is nicely furnished and decorated. There are water views out every window. It is basically 3 buildings connected with a large deck. Two of the buildings have bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. The central building is living/dining/kitchen. Accessible only by 15 minute water taxi ride (i.e. no roads). Host paid for taxi to arrive, but it was $30 fee to get back to town each time, plus $30 to return to house. There are several houses nearby (not shown in photos), but because of windows placement it still feels very private. Air conditioning in main building. Bedroom buildings have fans but no AC. Amazing views and privacy.
