Great property

Beautiful cottage with well appointed kitchen, appliances and very completely stocked kitchen. Lots of room for all to gather together or to find a quiet space if desired. Plenty of room on the back deck as well as on the dock. My family spent most of their time in the lake.

The cottage was beautiful and lots of character. A lot of spiders in the cottage but due to age and location I’m sure that is normal. A lot busier area than we though and we thought we were right on the water. In saying all that the dock was directly across the road and was veryvnice

Cottage vibes

The cottage was great ! Everything you need is there to help with your stay the private beach area was awsome. The only thing i would complain about but not really an issue is you have to bring slippers for inside even thought you have to take off shoes when we stepped inside the floor was sandy and lots of little spider webs that dosent really matter to my ffamily but some might have issieissue

The perfect summer family vacation!

It was like coming home. You know when you walk into someone’s house and it just feels loved, calm and comfortable, that was the swift cottage. Because of that the famjam (we had our 4 kids with us, 5month old, 2.5,9&11 year old) all adjusted seamlessly. When we drove up I won’t lie we didn’t realize it was literally right beside the hwy60 and with little kids we were a bit worried but honestly it wasn’t an issue. The noise wasn’t an issue either you still hear the beauty trees surrounding the property and birds chirping. The rooms all have great space and the games room was epic for unwinding and rainy days. The walk-in level was also really cool temperature wise which was awesome since it was a heat wave. Despite that there were so many good fans too that we didn’t feel uncomfortable. The private gated beach and all the water toys was perfection. The Canoe, my dad (we surprised my parents with this trip and took them too) took out and he felt so good it had been years since he had paddled. There are also a ton of hiking trails close by. There is one literally down the road “beetle lake trail” that loops around the lake oxtongue but the bridge to link the sides broke so it’s two trails now and can’t do the loop. If you want a good lookout go to the other side of the lake entrance has 3 beautiful ones so we did that side of the trail. Rugged falls is also a 5 min drive and one of the top 10 waterfalls in Ontario. Can’t say enough about this place!

Great weekend getaway

We had a group of 8 adults for a weekend getaway. The cottage had plenty of room for all of us. The beach area was great for swimming and we a great time kayaking to the falls up the river. It was also really nice to be so close to algonquin outfitters to rent an extra Kayak for the day. I would recommend this cottage.

Great hosts and location!

This property is in a great spot and very close to the east gate of the park. The cabin was very clean and the hosts were highly responsive. Highly recommended!!!

Excellent propert

We truly enjoyed our stay at Swift cottage. The property was exactly as described. Beds were really comfortable, although no AC, there were sufficient fans to cool off. It was nice that it was so close to an outfitter store as we took advantage and rented kayaks for a day and paddled up to Ragged Falls, quite a neat experience. My only suggestion would be to let guests know that paper towels and toilet paper are not provided, it is quite far to go back for those amenities. I would definitely come back!!

Beautiful location and beach area.

Not aware that the property backed onto the main highway. Lots of traffic noise. Ceiling fans needed dusting and the bedroom windows cleaned. Screen door kept popping out. Deck chairs are old and need to be replaced. Couldn’t figure out how to use the keys. Thankfully we had the door code from the store. Also didn’t like bringing the bedding for 5 people. Covid isn’t spread that way. Lots of extra work I didn’t want to do on a vacation. Please review this outdated policy. Overall we enjoyed the property.

It is a great area to be.

We all enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately we can’t predict the weather accurately just the weather app lol. So we had a lot of rain. With that being said we did not get to do a lot of the things we wanted to do. But it is a great area to be right beside Algonkin Park. But the cottage is a great place to stay. Our children loved taking the canoes out on the lake. Thanks to Rich and Sue. Very nice couple.

What more do you need?

On the water with access to lakes, plenty of space. Firepit and dock for cabin use only. Comes with everything you need except for food and linen(covid req). A nice plus is decent wifi.

Wonderful family vacation

My family truly enjoyed this vacation. The cottage is so well furnished and so spacious, you could always find a quiet space to sit back to relax and read. The fact that the kitchen was so spacious and so well equipped with quality tools to prepare our meals was an added bonus rarely found in rental properties. We enjoyed canoeing and kayaking to the falls during the day and gathering around the fire pit at night. It did get quite warm in the bedrooms upstairs at night but there are plenty of fans in all rooms to make it more comfy. The cottage is adjacent to highway 60 so it did get a little noisy at times during the night. Keeping the windows closed and the fans on at night really helped a lot. Thank you very much Sue and Rich for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Christmas in July 2021

Great week just spent at the Swift cottage with our family. Cottage was clean and well stocked with all amenities. 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms were a bonus, perfect for everyone to have their space. Games room came in handy on our rainy day. Beach was perfect for the children and fire pit was awesome for making s’mores. Thanks Sue & Rich

Wonderful cottage getaway

Sue's cottage is very spacious and beautifully furnished, has just about everything you need. The cottage itself is conveniently located 15min away from Algonquin Park and a 30 second walk from the Algonquin Outfitters store (also owned by Rich and Sue) right by the water. We rented some canoes from them and had a fantastic day trip paddling to the Ragged Falls. Sue was very accommodating and always answered any questions or concerns I had. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed a much needed stay from covid-fatigue. We would love to come back again, thank you Sue for being such a wonderful host.

Perfect winter vacation

We spent a winter week at this cottage and had a wonderful stay. The cottage is very spacious, warm, and cozy, very well-equipped kitchen. The location is perfect for winter sports, cross country ski and snowshoe trails are around the corner, no driving is required. We visited Stubb’s Falls and Lions lookout (35 min driving). We enjoyed our evenings watching TV near the fireplace and playing billiards in the game room. Special thank you to Rich and Susan for the Christmas tree that was set-up for our kids prior to our arrival! We are definitely coming back.
