Looking for a Quaint, Quiet Getaway for two? The “Stuga”is an authentic log cabin nestled on the South shore of Lake Superior - 3 miles west from the quaint town of Port Wing, Wisconsin. The Spectacular Views and beach access are unique to the area. The cabin is conveniently located as the halfway point between Superior,Wi. and Bayfield, Wi. The Stuga /Cottage is decorated in Swedish decor with appreciation for the simple but basic needs for a comfortable stay. The sleeping loft with loft stairway steps provides you with a comfortable queen bed and awesome water views.(Be sure to use handrails and keep your backside towards the lake when going up and down). The cabin is heated by a beautiful gas stove fireplace, along with an electric wall heater as needed.A flat screen TV with Dish is provided along with great WiFi access. You have access to a private fire pit with fire wood provided . The beautiful log swing (shared by both cabins)is a perfect place to enjoy the amazing sunsets and nature. You have your own private viewing bench. The beach access is “steps” located by the other cabins’ viewing bench(to your left). You have a Webber grill available for your use.There is an information basket filled with brochures & suggestions for local attractions to see & do in the adjoining towns and area. Besides the Great Lake, there are numerous Waterfalls, hiking trails, & rivers for kayaking, fishing etc..
The town of Port Wing has “The Johnson Store” for all of your basic needs: groceries, gas, excellent fresh & smoked fish, etc.. There are two bar/ restaurants, a post office, Marina & beaches. The next two towns along the Scenic hwy heading towards Bayfield ,are Herbster ,& Cornecopica,both have restaurants , shops & beaches to explore. But if you’re looking to just relax and enjoy the beautiful views of Lake Superior.. you needn’t go anywhere… you’ve arrived!

Loft Stairs made to exact Wisconsin code. One must always go up forward and back down with backside facing lakeside. Absolutely no horseplay!

Wonderful getaway! Cabin was perfect for my husband and I. Quiet surroundings where you can enjoy the roar of Lake Supeior just 10 yards away. Loved the rocks and tons of driftwood. Would stay here again!

The location was on the south shore of Lake Superior and close enough to the Apostle Islands. It was a good locaton to use as a base camp.

The home was exactly as listed. Communications were timely. Orienta Falls was a nice hike and the scenery was amazing. The views of Lake Superior from the property were stunning, and we had tons of ship traffic to watch (we brought binoculars). Having beach access on the property was the icing on the cake. We had a great stay and would stay again.

The property is a beautifully located A-frame cabin with great views and everything you could want for a comfy two-person stay! My wife and I enjoyed the sunrises, sunsets, and watching the lake while having a fire with s'mores. A good location for nearby hikes and a day trip to Bayfield/Madeline Island.

Cozy Lakeshore Cabin

The location right on Lake Superior is idyllic. The cabin itself is very clean and cozy. The hosts were responsive to all of our inquiries. Can't wait until we can return!

We had a great stay in this special log cabin on Lake Superior!! It was so very cozy and the quiet retreat we needed! It had all the amenities that we needed for our stay. The views of the lake from the cabin inside looking out or from the back of the cabin were incredible! We couldn’t have found a better place and the location for exploring the south shore of Lake Superior was perfect. Will return!!

Very peaceful! Relaxing! Cute cabin with everything basic that you need. So close to everything. Have to try “the cranberry “ at Port Wing to eat out! Saw a bald eagle at the owners directions this am before we left. Awesome experience, he flew off and so we left. Thank you Jessica P.

Quiet location

The cabin is the perfect size for 2. Very nice options to sit by the fire or swing together by the lake. Super clean, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything youd need. There are stunning views of the lake in the evening.You couldnt tell it was Memorial weekend at all. Low traffic, very quiet. Just close enough to tourist places. About 45 minutes to Bayfield area. We would highly recommend this place!

Beautiful cabin

This is a very nice property. Clean, quiet and comfortable, with all the necessities we wanted in a vacation rental. Great view of Lake Superior. The weather prevented us from using the outdoor fire pit, which was disappointing. We were able to use our Netflix account on the TV. The loft bedroom had a wonderful view of the lake but is not for everyone - we could not take our bags up the stairs, which are steep and narrow. It can be tough if you have to use the bathroom during the night. We didn't mind the lack of a dishwasher, as we don't have one at home, but some would feel otherwise. It was windy and rainy during our stay. A significant amount of water came in through the baseboards at the lake end of the cabin.

Great views of the lake from Duluth to Lutsen and straight out as far as the eye can see. Also have log swing, log chairs and firepit with 185 feet of shoreline
