A Way in the Wilderness Cabin offers a serene retreat within the stunning Red River Gorge, just 2 miles from the renowned rock climbing at Muir Valley. Embrace the natural beauty and enjoy a range of outdoor adventures, or savor a quiet morning with coffee while watching the sunrise. Please note that while Wi-Fi is available for your convenience, there is no TV in the cabin.

This charming, western-style cabin provides a cozy escape with thoughtful details for a comfortable stay. The rustic decor and modern amenities blend seamlessly to create a welcoming environment.

The 1-BD, 1-BA open living area features inviting furnishings, including a cozy couch with two lay-flat recliners and an additional single recliner. Board games and Wi-Fi are available for your entertainment. The well-equipped kitchenette includes a mini fridge, drip coffee maker, toaster oven, and a two-burner electric stovetop for preparing meals. Additionally, an in-unit washer and dryer in the full bathroom with a tile shower add convenience.

Ideal for a romantic getaway or small group, the cabin accommodates up to six guests. The master bedroom features a brand new, plush Queen bed and two lay-flat recliners, with an air mattress available upon request for additional sleeping space.

Relax on the large, private back deck with Adirondack seating for two, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Descend to the firepit area to unwind and watch the sunset through the forest.

Guests have access to the entire cabin, which is one of three generously spaced Cabins & Glampers on the property. (4-Winds Cabin, & The Mountain & Mustard Seed Glampers). Larger groups of up to 16 could book them all and have full use of the property for a really cool and truly unique experience!
Parking is available near each respective cabin. Firewood is not provided, and pets are not allowed.

Enjoy fast Wi-Fi for your personal devices, but remember, there is no TV available at this cabin.

Excellent spot. I enjoyed the encouraging words on the walls! Didn't need it as we were only two, but if you need to sleep six, 4 will be in tiny outbuildings.

Great stay at this cute little cabin. Had everything we needed, quiet and made for the perfect place to stay after a family wedding. Would stay again.

Mountain Getaway

Cozy spot to spend the night on our road trip through the mountains. We enjoyed the privacy, nice decor, and close proximity to our activities around the Red River Gorge!

Would have been lovely, but there were mouse droppings everywhere when we arrived. On the counters, by cookware, on the bed, pillows, floors, etc. It was a health hazard and we left for a hotel. We sent 3 messages to the host, none of which were ever replied to. Ive never experienced such poor communication with a host. I can understand that mouse poop could show up in between cleaning and our arrival, but to not reply to any of our messages about it is unacceptable. I wouldnt even be leaving a review if they handled this correctly. But if you like poop on your bed and being ghosted, you will love this property.

We are truly sorry for the unacceptable conditions you encountered upon your arrival; finding mouse droppings is deeply disappointing and falls far short of the cleanliness standards we require. While this is a rural forested area where mice are not uncommon, the cabin should have been thoroughly inspected before your arrival to prevent this. Regarding our communication, a technical glitch in our messaging system prevented us from seeing your messages until some time after you had departed, which is why we were unable to respond immediately. As soon as the issue was recognized, a full refund was processed right away. We take these matters very seriously and have addressed both our pre-arrival inspection procedures and our messaging systems to ensure this does not happen again.

Absolutely loved it! My 8 year old loved the highland cow decor since we have highlands back home. She also enjoyed sitting on the front porch swing.

Nice house for a couple

Nice little house for a couple. Great location to climbing areas. Very clean. Would not recommend for groups larger than 2 people. We were very cramped with 4. Also when other guests stayed in the other house on the property the fuse would blow when they turned on their heaters.

Cute Cabin

It is an adorable little house with the perfect amount of space for a couple. The house was easy to access and get into. The only problem we had was that there was hair and some dirt on the bed sheets when we checked it, it didn't looked washed but we ignored it. Overall a good place for 1 night in the gorge.

Not Bad

It was nice. Complaints- The Bed is Absolutely Horrible!! If staying here bring a blow up mattress. We can’t believe they would leave a totally worn out bed in this cabin. Was definitely the worst experience. Outdoor fire pit chairs (5) all broken. If we didn’t have a 4x4 truck we wouldn’t have gotten in driveway due to mud from lots of rain, would be fine once dry. Overall nice peaceful place to stay. Oh yeah one more thing, tight fit to use the toilet. If you are a bigger person you’d probably have to move the washer dryer to use toilet.

We’re sorry to hear the bed wasn’t comfortable for you. It actually isn’t very old, but we know that mattress firmness is a personal preference—what works for one guest might not work for another. We’ll still check to make sure it’s holding up well. We also appreciate you pointing out the condition of the outdoor chairs—we’ll look into replacing those right away. And yes, the driveway can be a little tricky after heavy rain, but we’re glad your 4x4 handled it just fine. As for the bathroom setup—this is a smaller cabin, and the only way we could offer the convenience of a washer and dryer was to place them where space allowed, which ended up being next to the toilet. It’s definitely a tight fit, and we understand that may not be ideal for everyone. Thanks again for your honest feedback—it helps us continue to improve, and we hope you’ll consider staying with us again.

This is a place we visted in May and rented again for the fall. It's amazing, clean, and with so much to do in the area it's nice to come back to a quiet and cozy space at night.
