House On The Hill majestic ocean view walking distance to beach and restaurants

The apartment is situated on over 1/2 acre of private property. It has a fully equipped kitchen, relaxing living areas, and a private balcony with a fantastic ocean view. It also has inside and outside dining spaces, a queen bed with memory foam pillows, a large hot water shower, and high-speed fiber optic internet, which is ideal for remote workers.

Our property allows you to live like a local and experience the island of Roatan from a typical neighborhood that shares locals and expats living in it. It is a safe neighborhood close to the main road but secluded by the hill and the jungle around the house. This is an ideal spot to experience the less touristy Roatan.

The large bedroom has a new remote-controlled air conditioning and a silent ceiling fan. The apartment has lots of natural light and modern living features. It's located on a hillside, and the sea breeze rolls up the hill from the prevailing easterlies, providing a cooler, relaxing environment. The hilltop offers a place away from people and the different tropical bugs usually found near the beach, such as sandflies and mosquitoes. House on the Hill offers both ocean and jungle views.

There is also a very small single bedroom (we consider it a 1/2 size) with shelving for storage and a curtain for privacy, as seen in the photos. It only has a standalone fan. It’s a better fit for a couple with a kid or a teenager, looking for an extra bed.

Guests have their own private balcony/deck area with hammocks and an ocean view.

The kitchen has newer and well-appointed accessories, and we always try to offer our guests everything they could want for a comfortable stay. We provide nice chopping boards, a recent complete set of knives, and matching cutlery and utensils.

The house is up on a hill as the name states, and it’s not a good fit for people with any mobility issues. It’s aproximately 150 steps up, but the house is on the hilltop providing great impact from the trade winds, and a gorgeous view.

Sandy Bay offers beautiful beaches and snorkeling. There are beachside restaurants, dive shops, and botanical gardens a few minutes walk from the apartment. Sandy Bay caters to people looking for a quiet, authentic experience. The Beach Grill, Sunken Fish, Sandy Bay Divers,
Best Dive Roatan, and Anthony’s Key are all within walking distance.

We do not get cruise ship tourism here, unlike West End and West Bay, so you get a much more authentic, less crowded experience of the island.

A local pulpería (small convenience store) is just off the main road and a close walk away. There’s also a large, fully stocked supermarket only a short 2-minute taxi ride away (or a 10-minute walk).

Close enough to the tourist attractions, without the noise of bars and restaurants, and with a unique set of local options to the Sandy Bay Area, the property is at the closer portion of Sandy Bay. If you want the crowds, West End and West Bay are accessible by taxi, local transportation, and a short hop away.

I live on the property with three amicable island rescue dogs, who will happily keep you company if you wish. Your private balcony is gated; they can only access it if you open the gate.

Airport / Ferry pick-up can be arranged at an extra cost with a driver that picks you up. We have a scooter available for rent on the location.
