There was quite a bit wrong with the property, there were animals in the walls that we would hear all night long, actually we watched a family of mice on the deck , the dryer wasn't working, it rained and the ceiling leaked in multiple areas dropping plaster on the floor, the lower level was musty or moldy and I have asthma had an attack was afraid of need to go to ER, luckily I didn't. I hate giving bad reviews but these things really needed to be addressed.

Beautiful home & Perfect Location

The home is so spacious and the views of the lake are breathtaking. The owner took care of everything for us and it’s so close to lots of great wineries. Definitely recommend for a big wine loving family looking to create new memories! 🍾

Fantastic Lake House on Seneca

We grew up in the area and now in Florida but come back every year to spend some time on the lake. This house is probably the best property we have rented over the past 10-15 years. The location is perfect. Far enough up the lake to feel like you are in the middle but still close to Watkins Glen for shopping and restaurants. The layout is great and very large. The bedrooms are very comfortable with plenty of linens, blankets and towels (not always the case). The AC worked perfectly (also not always the case). The grill was new and in great shape. Multiple levels and multiple decks gave everyone a spot to hang out. And having a hot tub overlooking the water was surreal. The WiFi was also good although nobody should be wasting time on a device at this house. The owners were super responsive and communicative but, in the end, we didn't need anything as we had everything we could want. In short - we will be back!!

This place could be the perfect getaway - it is large enough to accommodate a couple of families between the bedrooms and bathrooms, common indoor and outdoor spaces, and open concept kitchen/greatroom. It is located right on the water for beautiful sunsets, and conveniently close to Watkins Glen, wineries, breweries, hiking, and more. The downside is the state of the house and grounds. The house is in need not just of cosmetic updates, but a new roof/gutters. While we were there, we experienced a torrential downpour where the roof and/or foundation caused leakage into a bedroom, bathroom, laundry room and common space. We did let the owner know and they were responsive and sent someone over to check on it the next day. However, this was not the first time, as we noticed water damage on the ceiling. The doors are in need of some repairs to open and shut properly, the decks need attention, and the grounds are overgrown. The house and linens were clean. Despite any negatives, we had a wonderful time and talked about how fantastic the place could be with some more attention.

Great location, run down property

The location and layout of this property are amazing. However, everything about this property needs updating. It was not that clean, and there were lots of little things broken down. It needs new appliances and cookware in the kitchen, repairs in the bathrooms, new sheets and linens, and other small things that need more attention to detail. And some of the sliding glass doors had no handles. The bathtub faucet in the upstairs bathroom is coming out of the wall. The guestbook needs updating and cleaning out. This is a fantastic location and the house is beautiful, but someone really needs to go over all of the Amenities and fix things. Finally, it was not easy getting in touch with the owner.

A great Grand priix festival weekend

The home worked out well for our group. The furniture was comfortable. The location was perfect for access to town for the festival and our time at the track. It was nice to have a carport for our classic car. Plenty of parking space. The neighbors were friendly. A fire in The fire pit area overlooking the lake on the last night there topped it all off. We all had a wonderful weekend at Drift Away.

Spacious place

The house had a ton of room. Great view from the deck. Plenty of games and hot tub for extra entertainment. Great location, close to parks for hiking and wineries.

Great getaway!

We had a wonderful birthday weekend here! The location was beautiful, the hot tub and fire pit were perfect, and the kitchen had pretty much everything we needed to cook up a storm (and a real coffee maker and coffee bean grinder). The owner even dropped off a celebratory bottle of wine for the birthday festivities! Wonderful experience, the entire group wants to com back soon.

Home with great views.

I loved the location of the house. The main level was very nice. The lower level was damp, due to rain coming in through ceiling light fixtures. Beautiful view from the dock, but dock and steps need some work.

Beautiful lake and house!

We had a great time at this property! The location right on the lake is amazing. The house is spacious and had everything we needed. The location is very close to shopping, town, water activities. Check in was a little bumpy and I didn't know to bring my own bath towels. Would highly recommend!

Long Weekend Getaway

Our family enjoyed a long weekend getaway at this rental property. The location was great just minutes from downtown Watkins Glenn and a short drive to tons of other fun sights and attractions. The property had plenty of room for our group and great early morning sunrise views from the dock on the lake.

Best house and owner anyone could ask for!!

Nick went above and beyond to help us in so many ways. We happened to get snow but Nick was on top of it making sure we were ok and making sure the driveway was plowed. His hospitality and the bottle of wine 🍷 made this stay memorable for 4 couples who will definitely be back next year!! Thank you Nick

Great place for a group getaway or family vacation.

The house was everything we needed it to be for a long weekend getaway. Our group had a fantastic weekend touring the local wineries and hanging out in the hot tub. The house could definitely accommodate a family vacation with kids as well. Everything you need is available in the house, it was great.

Originally I am from NYC. I went to college at SUNY Buffalo where I met my wife and best friend Tracy. We have three kids and moved to this area to be close to her parents after living in NYC for 10 years. There I was a building superintendent/construction manager for a small real estate company in Union Square and she was a RN at a large hospital. My previous job as a construction manager for luxury properties had given me an outlet for artistic expression through building and as a super I learned that there is a satisfaction in making others happy through their living environment. One great thing about NYC is the culture. Two things that are important to me are creating an environment of convenience and highlight the culture of my new home. I focus on providing small surprising amenities to help make you feel at home while at the same time supporting this beautiful area and drawing attention to all that the area has to offer. My wife and I also enjoyed putting together the activity book and picking out the wines that we give guests as we were able to suggest and support local businesses that highlight the culture of our new home. I appreciate clear communication and hate bargaining as a game, that is why the property I hope, speak for itself.

When I saw this property the first thing that came to mind was "breathtaking". One day I hope to live here but right now we have it to be shared. We love to put our creative energy into turning this home into a place not only to enjoy on vacation but to enjoy all year around. I find it extremely satisfying to put forward such an amazing property that can be appreciated by so many different groups in so many different settings. Every year there will be something new and exciting added on to this property. I hope people love it as much as we do!

It's a large place, suitable for a large group of a couple families. I have rented houses before where there are too many beds and not enough space, this is not one of them. I feel like the house is great to explore and you can't beat its location. This really is a home away from home.
