Unfortunately, Brooks and Shorey contacted us 48 hours before arrival stating the condo we booked was undergoing renovations and would not be ready for our stay. They gave us 3 options or offered a full refund. This was our anniversary trip and we had spent weeks researching condos for the perfect fit so we did not want to start all over 48 hours prior to arrival. We chose this condo as the best option of those being offered.All that being said, this condo has a fabulous location! It is directly on the beach with amazing views from the balcony that runs the width of the condo. There are doors to the balcony from the living room and master bedroom. We enjoyed watching the dolphins play and hearing the sound of the surf each day from the balcony.The condo has a great floorplan if you are traveling with family. In addition to the living room and master bedroom/bathroom, there is a dining area, fully stocked kitchen, 2nd bedroom with 2 beds, another smaller room with bunk beds, plus a 2nd full bathroom and a laundry room. The elevators are fairly quick and parking is right out front. The entire complex and condo are older but incredibly clean! Every morning we watched the pool people clean the pool and take water samples. There is a boardwalk to the beach with 2 shower stations to remove the sand before heading back to the complex.Beach chair service was easy. Just choose your chairs/umbrella and take a seat. We had no problems getting front row chairs no matter what time we arrived.This complex has all beach front units and a large span of beach since the complex runs parallel to the beach which translates into a large beachfront. It never felt crowded unlike some larger complexes that have more units and/or a horseshoe shape which leads to small beach fronts and crowded beach areas.This condo could benefit from lighter paint choices so it didn't feel so dark, but decor was r

The entrance to the beach was easy to get to or you had a choice of two pools. One heated. Loved that we were able to cook our own meals and do laundry. Have one request of owners. At least one frying pan larger than 8 inches. We have already booked to come back next year.

Much needed rest

Wonderful place. If one thing could be improved...beyond the old school coffee maker...the bed in the Master is rock hard. If you spend enough time on the beach it will suffice. The location and quality of the property is top notch.

Condo was roomy and in excellent shape. Large balconies is a plus. Was very clean as well. The only thing I would say that would have been nice is that the air conditioner in the right side lobby was working and that there be some way of cooling the elevators. Overall would recommend these condos to family and friends.

Stay was good but wouldn't choose Gulf Dunes again

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: For the most part, our stay was pleasurable. The condition of the condo was ok. Very disappointing that the glass door leading onto the balcony was in terrible shape, almost impossible to open/close. The king size bed was uncomfortable. The elevators were out of commission part of the time. The pool was very disappointing. Very small and you couldn't see anything but the parking garage and a sand dune. You would have no clue that there was an ocean anywhere nearby because you could not see it from the pool. Overall, the facility was worth renting but was not worth the amount of money charged. If you are going to charge approximately $500 a day, everything should be in working condition and there better be a view when you sit poolside. I, personally, would not stay here again.

Another great vacation

This was our second time staying in this condo. We chose it again because we enjoyed ourselves so much the first time. The condo was exceptionally clean and well stocked with kitchen supplies. We will be back!

Overall wonderful place to stay!

Overall wonderful place to stay! We loved the email alerts prior to arriving. We received a phone call when the room was ready. Everything we needed was available for cooking/preparing food. I loved that there was a pantry for dry goods and space to put our beach chairs. We had access to everything we needed and a short distance to a few restaurants and ice cream;) Would definitely book here again.

This was our the first time staying in the West building and we liked this building better. We have had a couple of issues with units in the East building. Wish there were more one bedroom units available in the West building.
