Property was clean and roomy for family of 4. Neighborhood is nice and quiet, with easy access to surrounding Summerville, and a short drive to downtown Charleston. It was exactly what we needed for our trip. 5 stars all around.

The house was very easy to find and a great location for going in to the city. The host was very responsive and answered questions quickly. There were kitchen basics, though a smaller sharp knife would be a good addition (it as very difficult to prepare food). The property was clean and secure. I would return to this property or other properties with this host.

It started poorly right off the bat as we could not get into the house as the code # was incorrect. We tried several times. We sent the owner a text explaining our dilemma. Not hearing from him I sent another text and waited about 15 minutes, and then sent a third. About ten minutes later I called Vrbo for assistance. Your office was helpful, but it still took about 15 more minutes for the office to get a hold of the owner. As it turns out, the instructions that were emailed to us about unlocking the door is incorrect. He needs to add the words “after inserting the code # touch the Yale button.” We did and the lock opened. If the directions had been correct to begin with we never would have had the issue. While sitting on the porch we were dismayed as to how dirty it was. I’m sure it hasn’t been hosed off in a very long time. The window frames next to the chairs were full of dust, dirt, and dead bugs. First impressions give a lasting impression, so we were Leary about what the inside looked like. The storm door was broken and propped open with a rock. The hand railing going up the porch stairs was broken away from its foundation at the bottom, and three of the four screws were missing at the top of the stairs. When we got there and I went up the stairs I almost fell as the railing toppled over. The front door is in desperate need of fresh paint, the door frame was filthy dirty. All of this while waiting to get in. Please call me so I can explain more. Do not rent this house

While the host was very responsive when we reported issues (Toilet running all through the night), the cleanliness of the property left a lot to be desired. Upon checkout I communicated with the host about problems we saw (hair in bathtub), what appeared to be black mold under windows in front room, stale/musty odor upon entering and noisy downstairs guests. I furnished pictures of the issue. They assured me they use a professional cleaner and had never had any complaints but they would personally look into it. Later that day they texted to say the problems had been taken care of but when asked to supply photos showing the "mold" had been eradicated they failed to send any. Since we had someone in our group that had severe asthma, I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to others unless they can show that the "mold" has been eradicated.

This house was a great set-up for our family to gather while we were in town for the wedding of another family member who lives nearby. There was plenty of space for the 6 of us, and the bedrooms were far enough removed from the living room that our youngest person (13) was able to sleep while the rest of us continued talking into the night. The house had everything we needed to cook dinner and breakfast during our stay, we had plenty of towels and the beds were comfortable. There are TVs in all the bedrooms, but we were having such a good time visiting we didn't even turn them on!The only issue with this house is there are 2 units and it can be hard to park if the visitors in the other unit take up all of the parking. The hosts were very very helpful (and immediately responsive) when we asked where to park, but I admit I was taken aback when we were given such explicit instructions about where to park and then could not do so.

Thank you so much, Laura, for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are very happy to hear that the house was comfortable for your family gathering and that you enjoyed the space, amenities, and overall stay. We sincerely apologize once again for the inconvenience with the parking. As you mentioned, the property has two units, and sometimes—even though we give clear instructions to other guests about where to park—they unfortunately make mistakes, which can create difficulties. We completely understand your frustration and we will continue working hard to ensure this doesn’t happen again. We truly appreciate your understanding and your feedback, which helps us improve. You are always welcome back, and we would love to host you again in the future. Warm regards, Natalia

We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were a perfect size for adults and children. Clean, with all the basic amenities. Lots of space to move around and no get in anyone’s way. The prime bedroom bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Loved that they had enough body wash, shampoo and conditioner for more than a week for a family of four. Fans in every room for air circulation, but also air conditioning was perfect temperature. TV in bedrooms and family room so everyone got to wind down the day with what they liked. Great location for getting to a lot of sites - 20-30 minute drive for downtown and beaches. If you are planning on going to the beach you will need to buy or bring beach towels. No big deal, Walmart and TJMaxx are close for that. Staff were attentive to all our questions before we came down. We would stay here again.

I truly wish I could give a 5 star rating because the hosts were excellent communicators and very kind, but there were two issues that were hard for me to get over. One of the issues is partially my fault, and it's the fact that I did not see that this was a unit within a house. I was expecting to have an entire house and not worry about noisy neighbors or my own noisy children disrupting neighbors. The fact that this is a multi-unit is very quietly listed under property details. I feel like this should be bold or something. It just feels hidden in the property details. Our first night there the neighbors had 3 cars taking up the entire driveway and I had to park in the street. We also woke up in the middle of the night to them laughing in their living space underneath our bedroom. Thankfully, this only woke my wife and I and not the kids or baby. The other issue, and this is the major one, is the fact that the AC for the unit does not fully cool the upstairs bedrooms. It is at least 10 degrees warmer upstairs, if not more. I had to crank the AC downstairs to 68 just so we weren't sweating all night. The AC clearly works because the downstairs would be freezing cold when you go up in the morning, but for some reason the air coming out of the vents in the bedrooms was far warmer. We did go in the heat of the summer (late July) so I imagine it's not so noticeable at other times of the year.

Thank you so much for your detailed review and for your kind words about our communication. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us to improve. We are so sorry for the misunderstanding regarding the multi-unit property and for the inconvenience this caused with parking and noise. Your suggestion is very valuable, and we will certainly take it into consideration to make that information more prominent in our listing. We also sincerely apologize for the issue with the air conditioning not properly cooling the upstairs bedrooms. Our guests' comfort is our top priority, and we're truly disappointed that this was not the case for your family. We will have our maintenance team inspect the system immediately to ensure it is working correctly. Thank you again for your honesty. We hope you will give us the opportunity to provide you with a perfect stay in the future.
