Our family enjoyed our stay here so much. It's a well-appointed home with plenty of creature comforts--like plush terry cloth towels, super comfortable beds, cozy wood-burning stove with dry wood and fire starters, excellent stackable W/D, lots of fleecy throw blankets for cool nights, all necessary kitchen amenities, and beautiful flowering plants to treat the eye. Just like the description says, we really did see quail and wild turkeys, and I'm sure deer graze there frequently. We loved our dinner al fresco on the patio surrounded by gorgeous, tall, lush trees and greenery, and every night after putting the kids to bed upstairs we curled up in front of the fire and soaked up the peace and quiet. The upstairs worked beautifully for our two young children. Our 4-year-old daughter felt like a princess in the upstairs room with its sunny views, walk-in closet, room to play, and comfortable bed with soft, attractive bedding.
The owner, Lilly, was helpful, sweet, and knowledgeable about the area, offering us tips for navigating the Sebastopol/Bodega Bay area and beyond. We enjoyed idyllic drives through bucolic scenes, warm pebble and sand beaches overlooking haystack rocks in the sunshine, and the great food and wine intrinsic to the area. The house is just a few minutes from town and from Andy's, a great local grocery that serves up strong lattes and tons of fresh, organic, awesome fruits and veggies.
Bottom line: unpack and stay awhile (we stayed a week). The owners have good taste. They don't skimp on the stuff that makes an out-of-town visit comfortable. It does make a difference to sleep in a nicely made bed and wake to a misty morning that soon rolls into a sunny day. There were no disappointments.
