The 420 House

Welcome to The 420 House. An artist's retreat with old-school charm, and all the essentials for a laidback stay. With plenty of options, you can get lost outdoors for a movie night, or a walk around the garden features on the property. This is an older home with tons of character that leans a little vintage, and we embrace that charm fully. Whether you're a creative looking for solitude or a traveler craving something different, this is a space that feels lived in, loved, and low-pressure. *Bathroom only accessible through 3rd bedroom. Please be aware of this.
*Stovetop works, however, oven currently non operational; we provide a “pizza” sized convection oven to accommodate. Please be aware of this.
*Local bookings prohibited.
*House numbers are 420. We are 420 friendly, but outdoors only. No indoor smoking.
*Garden and outdoor photographed areas may not depict current conditions at listing due to seasonal change (photographed in spring)
• Outdoor theater area may occasionally experience insects such as ants/crickets etc.
•Aquariums may have occasional algae growth
• Customizable color changing LED lighting throughout the home
• Backyard perfect for pets or relaxing nights under the stars

• Two private driveways (no street parking)
• Pet-friendly with a large crate and pet bed available (crate and bed must be request in advance)
• Outdoor movie setup must be stored inside after use
• House is located in a quiet village-style community with 24/7 law enforced patrol-parties strictly prohibited.

Clean, well equipped house in a beautiful location. We had everything we needed to make meals for our group. Large rcomfortable tooms. Would stay here again.

It was a very strange house with odd decorations, lighting, and some walls where people could write on (not all the writing was wholesome). It was fine to stay in, but gave off strong frat house vibes.

Nice quiet neighborhood. Good outside lighting. Could use some interior painting and yard work. Check in was easy. Nice owner and responsive to any issues. Fun lighting.

The home was as advertised. It was clean and comfortable. We were visiting to see the World War I museum and it was very close and easy to get to.

The house was pretty unique. The walls were pretty cool and you can sign them! Lots of interesting Lego builds. The backyard was pretty laid back, we enjoyed the deck with the lights and did hook up the projector for a bit. The space was great for our group and the beds were comfortable. The only thing that I would say that could be improved would be a lamp or something in the living room…it gets pretty dark in there in the evening. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay and would recommend to stay again.

The house is uncomfortable in several ways. There were smoke detectors missing. The only bathroom is accessible only through the master bedroom. The door to that bathroom squeaked loudly until I greased it with soap. Some lights can’t be turned off, and one of the bedrooms had an outdoor lamp that shone right into a window that lacked a curtain. Some of the work that’s been done is unfinished, like the loose threshold between the kitchen and the dining room.

The house had a smell of mildew and/or dampness. You can feel where there was water damage in the house floors.There are no curtains in the front, sheer curtains in the main bedroom and broken blinds throughout the home. Privacy was not a part of the home due to lack of adequate window coverings.The provided towels were damp.The bed was very uncomfortable.The home needs to be deep cleaned (doors, walls, etc.) but the floors and counters seemed to be clean.Better instructions for lights need to be provided.Communication was good with the manager/host, the location is good for food and freeway.

It could have been a little cleaner. There was sawdust and wood scraps on the deck from a project. The landscaping wasn’t kept up. The cushions on the outside couch were dusty and dirty. (They could be put inside in between guests to avoid that). There are no blinds in the living room. There was a power surge in the evening and came back to all of the lights on (odd?) There is a lot of potential in the space!! I did enjoy the quiet neighborhood and off street parking.

Weekend Stay

The property is so cute inside and out you can tell they take pride in how it looks with the landscaping and plants in the front and back! The pond is so cute love that sound of the trickling water! There was two bedrooms with a full size mattress and one bedroom with a single and one bathroom. Everything was very clean and tidy! I would say for the price and space it’s 100% worth the booking and there were tvs in each bedroom plus the living room!!! Tv time is important too!! The lego rollercoaster model was super cool!

Buyer beware. The houses layout is a little awkward, the bathroom is actually inside the master bedroom, so, you will need to go through that door to use it. The lawn is uncared for, not mowed and has trash all around it. It went up past my knees. There is at least one wall in each room, kitchen and bathroom they have painted black & chalk markers there for you to be able to draw on the walls. (Alot of derogatory things and bad language) We tried to sign the walls, the markers were all dried up. Even though we didn't graffitti on the walls, we tried, I admit, but he tried to charge me for damages after checkout. The walls are painted black and he supplies the tools to draw on them. So, be careful. He claims we spray painted the wall, black. The image was of a bare spot on the graffiti'd wall. I was 30 minutes late checking out because I went to buy cleaning supplies since there wasn't any and wanted to leave it better than we found it. Which is how I've treated every Vrbo we've stayed in. He said it was fine. I contacted him in Also the very day I booked it, I noticed it said 2 adults instead of 3. I immediately sent him a message and asked if I should cancel and rebook, he said no it was okay. After checkout he sent me a bill for a 1 night stay, late check out and damages for the wall. Just petty. Never mentioned he would charge me for the guest or the late checkout. I would've gladly paid for the extra guest and the late checkout. I tried to do the right thing at booking.

We did not stay in the house, ended up getting a hotel at 1155pm.

There were no ratings so that should have been my fisrt clue. The ad stated that pets were not allowed so I figured we would be ok as my husband is allergic to dogs. He reacted immediately walking in to the house. There were several doors that said do not enter as they were u ser construction. It gave off a very odd vibe. There were no blinds on the living room windows and one child was supposed to sleep on the couch. There was 1 blanket for that. The last straw were the ants on the floor in the bedroom just inches away from the matress that was on the floor. I truly hate giving a bad review but really feel like it may help others and the owner.
