Dear Angela, we were very surprised to read your comments 6 weeks after your stay. We regret that you did not contact us at any point about anything other than a general power outage. I immediately reached out to our cleaning manager and also checked back with our current guests staying with us for the second year in a row. Stains on cushions happen quickly when towels are not put before sunbathing, the kitchen is sufficiently equipped and there is enough towels according to them. We have ordered 6 new comfortable dining chairs. Please understand that we rely on communication with our guests in order to be able to act and remediate issues, and always prefer transparency with our guests. We always and foremost want you to be happy and comfortable.

Dear Maria, we are happy to answer your recent review. We do not believe that our rent is “too expensive”. Compared to other homes, equally equipped with a private pool and a spa in Fort Myers, 29 USD per person per night is a very competitive rate and can easily be verified on VRBO. We have a lot of returning guests and a well booked calendar despite Covid. The inside of the house is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected each time while preparing for new guests. The “green” on the golden jets inside the bathtub of the master bathroom is slight copper rust (not removable, as comes with time) and it has nothing to do with the cleanliness of the bathtub. Leaves in the gutter of the roof can sometimes gather after storms, but will hopefully not have altered the quality of your stay. It also can happen that a lizard, so called “critter” (we guess that’s what you mean by dead frog) enters the pool area. They are very common in Florida. They can sometimes enter under the door of the pool cage, hide somewhere and die. We are sorry that you found it, but honestly, we cannot sterilize the whole OUTSIDE area. We have been informed by our pool service company that the pool and spa were happily and intensively used during your stay by so many guests that they had to add extra products to prevent the pool from turning. We conclude and hope that you enjoyed a lot the pool, the spa and your stay in our home which is also reflected by a particular high energy bill unpaid to this day despite our reminders. We feel on one hand happy about the fact that you seem to have enjoyed your holiday very much in reality, but we regret that your review does not reflect that reality.

We will take this chance to explain again and excuse for some inconveniences that made your holidays not as perfect as you wanted them. Please know that making our guests happy is our only goal. The day you arrived was a same day check in /check out. Our cleaning team has employed a new girl and she must have overseen that the floor was not really perfectly clean. The sheets and covers are of course always washed before the new guests arrive. However when 6 people leave and 6 new arrive, she said there is a lack of time and it may happen that the guest do not leave at 11am , the washer turns fast and the dryer is too full from squeezing, and then the results are not perfect. She excuses! The cameras in the house are part of the security system for which we have a contractor. This is custom in every good household and the cameras are never on except when the house is vacant. Also it is the guests that manage the alarm system when staying; they manage at their own convenience. As to the pest control, we have a very reliable partner under contract who is regularly at our home and treating very efficiently. The pool heating depends on the preferences of our guest. There is 150 USD per month/5 USD per day electric consumption included in our rates. However, when the last guests did not want to heat the pool up to an excessive temperature and pay the extra charge it is their choice. They just left before you arrived. If our guests chose to heat the pool up to their wanted temperature, they adjust to the wanted temperature first thing, and it will warm up within the next couple of hours. Apparently you did do that and could enjoy the warm water shortly after. However this has an impact on the electric bill as already explained. The area is a very quiet area and yet has all the commodities and beaches around. Our guests are in general very happy, for all is close and they enjoy the calm amongst our neighbors.
