Rainier you can practice your fly fishing for cutthroat trout or kayak and tube float down the river from the bank just outside your door. Relax on the covered deck and listen to the Little Deschutes river as it flows gently past this fantastic property that offers a cozy retreat for guests. With its enchanting living room, complete with a sofa bed and a twin bed, as well as the master bedroom with queen bed and luxurious linens and comforter, and a bathroom with a hot shower and fluffy towels, you'll have plenty of space to relax and unwind. Stay connected with wifi, and enjoy the convenience of a hair dryer, washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave and convection oven. For colder nights there's a propane wood stove in the Livingroom and heating to keep you comfortable. Whether you're exploring the breathtaking scenery or indulging in local cuisine, this cabin is the perfect home base for your Rainier adventure. We'll be glad to help you with information about things to do and see! Just 10 minutes east of Rainier, Washington where you'll pass sheep and cattle grazing in fields dotted with live oak and glacial rocks, it's easy access to fun little restaurants or drive in to see Washington State's capitol, just 30 minutes to Olympia where you'll find great eats and things to do. Jeanne was such an amazing host. We had our wedding at the otter house and everything was so beautiful. She provided beautiful flowers and the perfect wooden arbor. We are so grateful for her kindness and generosity. The pictures of the home do not do it justice, from the beds to the patio every part of the property was gorgeous.

Such a relaxing time! The dogs had an amazing time playing in the calm river. We woke up every morning and had hot coffee outside. It was so quiet you could hear all the birds around. Definitely a great place to get away to for a couple days to relax.

Peaceful getaway

My husband, kids and I spent two nights at this quaint home with access to the Deschutes River. It was lovely and felt secluded, but still close to food. Went for a hike about 40 minutes away and enjoyed having campfires in the early evening both nights. Jeanne was very prompt with responding to my request and throughout the home there was thoughtful items there for our use and convenience. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Charming Cabin with lots of spaces inside and especially outside, to chill and enjoy nature.

Easy to get to at end of the road and a secluded quiet cabin. Everything from checking in to leaving was great. The cabin was furnished beautifully and very comfortable. Perfect cabin for two or four guest and kitchen was stocked great and inviting. The sitting area by the trout river was so cute and great place to enjoy the sounds of nature all around. Sweet little mama duck and her little ducklings came off the shore across the river in the evening for an evening swim up the river.we would surely return here when we visit next time.

This place is a definite gem. It is true when it says the houses literally melt away around it. The house is very cozy and comfy and very welcoming.The outside amenities is amazing.Would definitely recommend, and we'll come back again.

Cozy cabin next to creek.

The Otter House is a great place to stay. It was a short distance away from my work event. The residential area you drive through to get to it looked a little dicey, but once you're at the property it's fine. The outdoor area is large with seating areas and right next to a babbling creek. The deck was nice to relax on in the evenings. The cabin is well-equipped and the beds were very comfortable. Bonus outdoor cat to pet.

Delightful cabin on the Deschutes. So nice to sit & watch the creek flow by. The covered patio was perfect for rainy morning coffee. The kitchen is very well stocked with dishes & bakeware.

Wonderful tucked away cabin!

I came here for a personal restart to do some quiet thinking in solitude. This place was perfect! The cabin itself is simple, but the decor and all the little touches make it great. It was equipped with most everything you're think of. I loved sitting in the back porch, and in the chairs by the river. The river was also great, super tranquil and calm enough to walk and splash around in. Would very much recommend this cabin for a retreat!

This is my first adventure as a host of a short-term rental and it's been really fun getting my property ready to give my guests an amazing experience at The Otter House! I have years of experience in consulting as an organizational behavior consultant and when I retired I created an opportunity to do something I love...I'm a professional dog training coach! I work four days a week helping families learn how to create a love affair with their dog for life! When I saw this property come up for sale I knew right away it was going to be something that I wanted to share with people who needed a respite from hectic days of working and chores. My grandchildren have come out to the property and enjoyed the forest with it's huge pine cones and playing games in the large open space. Whether it's a weekend getaway for two, time for a family to bond without the distractions of daily life or you're looking for a personal retreat or a place to have a small wedding...The Otter House is waiting for you!

The Otter House is located in a small country neighborhood where people are very friendly and welcoming. The neighborhood is surrounding by fields of grazing sheep and cattle! It's only 10 minutes from the town of Rainier and 20 minutes from Tenino where both offer local restaurants and coffee stops! There's a market in Tenino and it's only 25 minutes to Olympia!

The Otter House is at the end of a cul-de-sac and when you drive down the short driveway all the others houses disappear and you'd think you were in the middle of the forest! It's peaceful with birdsong, you'll see bald eagles and osprey and the other day there was a doe with her three fawns crossing the property to get to the river! You can fly fish for cutthroat trout or kayak right off the bank of the property into the "Little D", the Deschutes River of Washington. You're in the foothills of Mt. Rainier with plenty of hiking or biking country roads. The cabin is a full house with all the things you need to relax and decompress from your busy days at home!
