We had a wonderful Mothers Day weekend! Our host was very gracious and welcoming, and the property was lovely. We had a little trouble getting in, and she immediately called to make sure we could get settled quickly, which was truly appreciated with a tired toddler in tow haha. The deck overlooking the lake is very cool! We were able to have Wendy’s delivered in the morning, but mostly plan to drive for food, as it’s somewhat remote. The kitchen in the house is very nice and equipped for cooking for the family, and there is a grill on the deck too. Hope to stay here again one day!

Check in was quick and easy, great communication and so accommodating! We were even able to come a day early at the last minute to avoid camping in a tornado. Large spacious room, plenty of space for our family of 4. The fire pit and grill were an extra bonus! I’m sure it’s even better when it’s not freezing outside!

Spring Getaway

Great little place with a terrific view of the lake! Enjoyed hiking at Mammoth Cave (50 minutes away), drinks by the fire and coffee on the deck listening to the morning birds at sunrise.

Great weekend getaway

The house was perfect for our family of four. Everything was nice and clean, with cute decor and a great lake view! The owners were very friendly and helpful. We would absolutely love to return in the future!

Lake experience

Lake cabin

We had a wonderful trip exploring Norris lake. The cabin was just the right size and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay.

Love the place. Off street parking. Back deck is in the trees and overlooking the lake. A/c, hot water heater works great. Live the great adjustable shower heads. The gaming console and also Roku was great

Tranquility

Our stay was very short but good. We enjoyed the peaceful scenery from the back porch view of the woods and lake. The hospitality from the host was amazing and communicated in a very timely manner ensuring all check-in information was provided prior to our arrival.

Nice lake front home

The place was as advertised I had an issue with the microwave and the shower. The microwave died on me when went to heat up my dinner and the shower ran out of hot work almost instantly. Overall it was a decent experience.

Nice stay!

We were a bit unsure of the last 1/4 mile to get to the address, so just keep going, its worth it! The 1 room cabin was very nice. On the map it seemed far away from things. It turned out not too be. Quite neighborhood and we encountered friendly folks. Great view of the lake from the deck and inside the glass sliding door, though the leaves were not on the trees yet. It was a comfortable place to homebase for area sightseeing trips. The retrocade was awesome!

Simply The Best

I’ve stayed in places all over the world. This place is hands down the best simply the best. The cleanest. It would be worth more than the price if the room was all you got but it didn’t stop there. I have never met or had the pleasure to have such gracious hosts as we had with this stay. Hands down the best. Better than all the rest

Things to fix

The grill only has one burner working so we couldn’t use it. There not enough hot water too do the dishes. Everything else was great

If there were half stars I would rate it 4.5. The location offered a great view of the Tetons as you drive in. The surrounding woods had lots of birds that you could hear with the windows open. You could also hear the creek that runs through the property. The only issue we had was that the coffee maker was missing the pot, so no coffee on the first morning. However, I sent a message and they had a new coffee maker waiting for us when we got back that evening. The blinds in one of the bedrooms did not open, which made it hard to get air flow in that room, which is important when there is no AC. All the other rooms stayed nice and cool. They were not able to get the blinds fixed during our stay.

Hello Jennifer, How are you doing? Our place is a studio-style cabin at Nolin Lake in Clarkson, KY. I believe you and your family stayed at our place from June 6th to 9th. However, I think the review you recently wrote may have been for a different location. Our cabin does not have a coffee maker—we have a Keurig. We also do not have blinds in the cabin, except for the one above the kitchen sink. Additionally, we have air conditioning and no separate bedrooms. I’m glad to hear the host at the location you mentioned was accommodating. Thank you for staying with us at The Getaway @ Nolin. Have a great day!

The spot had gorgeous views and included all the outdoor easy living amenities. The neighborhood was very friendly, quiet and private. The home was furnished well and host was quick to respond. The grill was ready to use, and the fire pit was a great addition. Definitely would recommend this spot. We were close to see Mammoth caves and Lincolns various landmarks and Memorial sight.
