This house was absolutely perfect for our group of 12 to relax, unwind, and socialize. The layout with the house works well for groups, with an open dining/kitchen/living room area on the main floor and an additional family room downstairs. When some folks wanted to stay up later, they could go downstairs where the sound was isolated from most of the bedrooms. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed to cook all meals. There was also a second kitchen downstairs that we did not use, but the second refrigerator came in handy! The house is about a mile from the Laurel Highlands hiking trail, as the owner informed us, which turned out to be one of the most beautiful trails I've ever seen. When we got home from a rainy day of hiking, it was perfect to be able to throw our muddy and wet clothes in the wash and relax by the living room fireplace.
We found everything to be incredibly clean and well-maintained, and the owner was available to answer all of our questions and explain the rather complex sound/TV system. Perhaps the only negative was that the internet was somewhat slow or spotty, but my argument was that we were here to relax and enjoy nature anyhow, so maybe that is actually a benefit.
The hot tub and porch were perfect places to gather, and it was nice that there were both covered and uncovered areas of the porch so it could really be used in all weather.
I would absolutely recommend staying here, and in fact we are considering booking again for next year's reunion.
