Summary:

Beautifully renovated one bed one bath apartment in a 1790s brick building across from Market Square in the center of historic district of Old Town Alexandria. Walk to the corner to jump on the free trolley to see King Street or get on the metro or stroll by the river front before getting on a boat to Gaylord National Harbor or Georgetown to see Washington's museums, monuments and sights. You cannot get a better location than this one with beautiful furnishings. Enjoy!



The Space:

This is truly right in the heart of Old Town. You can walk across to the farmers market on Saturday mornings to buy fresh flowers or fruits, get a coffee at Grape and Wine or eat a delicious crepe for brunch downstairs at the Fontaine.

You will not be disappointed.



Guest Access:

There is smart lock access to the front of the property, which is a shared access entrance. Inside the building you will find a shared staircase that leads to the individual apartments. You will receive a unique code for the smart lock on your apartment door and the code for the front door of the building one day prior to your arrival.



The Neighborhood:

Historic district of Alexandria. Close to Mount Vernon estate as well as Washington DC with all it has to offer. Ghost tours regularly through the historic houses in Old Town. Torpedo Factory is full of artists at work or displaying their creations.



Getting Around:

The building is walking distance to King Street metro. There is also a free trolley that runs regularly along King Street from the Riverfront to King Street metro, you can hop on and off. You can also take a boat to Gaylord/National Harbor and Georgetown in DC from the riverfront in Alexandria. Plenty of street parking as well as private lots with varying prices within two block radius.



Other Things to Note:

Enjoy a beautiful master bedroom with unique features and amenities. Washing machine and dryer are coin operated and are located in the basement.



There is a $1,000 fine for any sign of smoking in addition to cost to replace any damaged items. There is a $1,500 fine for partying, including large number of unauthorized guests and sustained elevated noise. All unapproved late checkouts will incur a $25 per hour fine.



Interaction with Guests:

We allow guests complete privacy but are available with phone or text for any emergencies.

The location is perfect, so much to see and do in Alexandria that is walkable. We enjoyed so many things - the restaurants, farmers markets, waterfront, shopping, and more. This place is ideally located. The apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Ideal Location and Great Price

Enjoyed the location and great cost of being in central Old Town Alexanderia. Awesome walks with everything close by and easy trot to the Metro to head to DC. We'd stay here again.

Location location, location. This cute little property is right in the heart of things of Old Town just steps from restaurants and shops! The host was responsive and took care of any concerns and questions quickly. Would definitely recommend!

Nice apartment in a great location.

Very nice apartment in an outstanding location just off King St. Less than a mile walk to King St Metro station. 2 blocks to the waterfront. Many good restaurants closeby. Excellent communication. Good value. Pictures and description are accurate. Would highly recommend.

Excellent location. It’s an 1800’s building so expect narrow and steep stairs as well as tight spaces. It’s comfy for two, three would be a challenge. The two sets of towels we had were quite nice. There was plenty of hot water and water pressure which was a surprise in this old building. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs for the street noise and an eye mask for ambient light from street lights. The apartment could benefit from a deep cleaning.

A Royal Stay

Great location, very clean and secure. Everything you need is there. I had a little trouble with downloading the instruction pamphlet but the owner was quick to reply with all the information required to make my stay great. Highly recommended to friends, family and anyone else that would like to stay there.

Great Long Weekend!

We loved the cute apartment right in the heart of Old Town. Great location! We walked everywhere and parked in a near by garage. The host was kind and prompt when I had a question about check in. I look forward to staying in this apartment again! So much better than a 1 room hotel .

Perfect location in Old Town

Very charming, clean cozy unit!! Has everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Location can’t beat, able to discover all the Old Town has to offer with the convenience of being able to make pit stops back at the unit to recharge. We are looking forward to returning in the future.

Old Town Gem

Liz's place is perfect if youre looking stay somewhere that is perfect for a couple's getway or a small family. It's in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, VA. It's clean and has all of the comforts of home. Liz was also available each time we had questions. We will definitely stay here again, if it's available, on future visits.

As advertised!

Matched the property description exactly -- 1. Clean, modern apartment in a charming old building.2. It was hotter than heck outside, but 2 window A/C units (including 1 in bedroom) were up to the task.3. Comfortable bed, spacious (as compared to typical area) kitchen and living room.4. Location -- Excellent! Have now stayed in 3 areas of ALX, and this was absolutely the best. Literally seconds from King St. Creperie / coffee shop downstairs, even. We ate at 3 staple Old ALX locations, and none was more than 10-minute walk.5. Don't sweat the parking -- I know the property manager has a responsibility to tell you the legal ways / places to park, but if you know a local you can get the real scoop. The bottom line is we were there Sat-Mon and never paid to park.

Ideal location

Property is great location. We drove in from another state, parked in public parking garage for $10 a day. Free trolley runs 11am-11pm. Took the trolley to the metro into DC. Just a few stops from airport as well. So if you do not have your own car really easy to get around. Farmers market is Saturday 7am to ?, so many restaurants on King Street. Close to water. Highly recommend. Our teenager slept on pullout sofa

Old Town

Heart of Old Town offers you that old town loc and feel which is what we were looking for. Unit was clean and well kept. Unfortunately the unit is quite noisy with airport travel and general street conversation which was pretty disturbing at times. Better insulated glass and window air panels might help make a more relaxing stay.. Check in was pretty rough causing us to have to contact the owner on several occasions to gain access. Bathroom sink/drain also needs attention.

Fantastic Location

We stayed 4 nights in March 2025. The location of this rental is by far the best in Old Town Alexandria and allows you to walk to everything. Prior to our stay we had communicated with our host via the app. They were quick to respond and sent all the information needed for our stay. I had read there were issues for other guests checking in to the rental and vowed that would not happen to me. It did. The check in info sent via the VRBO app could not be opened or copy/pasted to open elsewhere. We had to contact the host to get into the property since we could not access that info in the app. The host responded and we got in after a few minutes. I would recommend trying to access the check in info before your trip to not run into the same issue. The rental itself is exactly as pictured and described. It was perfect for us and we loved being able to look out the windows to people watch. The bed was very comfy. Extra blanket was available. Bathroom was good. Good shower pressure. No tissues which I thought was odd. We used the laundry in basement and had to call host for key to get access. They were quick to respond. Overall this was a great stay! The location is prime if you want to be in the middle of Old Town. We walked up King Street and caught the free trolley back which was just a few steps away. At night we walked to dinner and entertainment right on the water. There is a great bookstore across the street. I would stay here again and highly recommend.
