Before typing out this review I want to preface this comment by saying my family & I have been vacationing in Champions Gate since 2017. We are very familiar with this community & the way it typically runs. Regardless of the owner. This was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had. Starting off with the check-in process. We received a confirmation email weeks before our trip with a door code. We get to the home after traveling the last 12 hours & the code does not work. We started to believe we were scammed. After sending several messages on vrbo, sending emails, and several calls to a phone with a full voicemail box for an hour, we finally received the correct code. We entered the home and from basic inspection it is filthy. Soap scum on the shower heads, hair in the shower and all over the wash rags & towels, chewed up gum in the windowsill, makeup stained towels, and water spots on the ceiling. A size 6 pants sticker right over the bathroom door on the wall in the master bedroom. The towels and rags were hard and linty. No fabric softener had been used. The shower tab in the master bedroom is jammed. This is also the only bathroom with a tub. So, if you have small kids that need a bath a night instead of a shower this house isn’t for you. Also, in 2025 there wasn’t a single smart tv is the entire house. So, if you have kids that watch streaming services like Netflix or YouTube you better bring a tablet or iPad. This was a terrible experience.

Nice Home. Some Recommendations

Very nice home. We enjoyed our stay. We were not able to enter with the access code provided and there was a delayed response to the message sent through thr VBRO app.We were outside in sweltering heat. We had to call the VBRO 800 number. Please provide a direct contact number to the host in case of emergencies such as this. Pool heating was available for a charge. Pool was hot one day but was fixed after we reported it. We enjoyed our stay but again provide an emergency number to contact the host.

Disappointing "Luxury" Stay - Heated Pool Was a Myth

We booked this Davenport townhome expecting a relaxing vacation, particularly highlighting the promised heated pool. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations.The biggest disappointment was the pool. Upon arrival, I discovered the pool was ice cold. At first I gave “At Home Vacation Rentals” the benefit of the doubt. I was assured via chat the heating pump had been turned on prior to our arrival. Time is needed to heat it to the proper temp. The next day it was still cold. I went out back, checked the pump myself, and noticed the heater panel was broken. I sent pics to “At Home Vacation Rentals” and was told a tech will come the next day to get it inspected. As far as I’m aware, that never happened. Despite multiple chat messages, the pool never got fixed and I was eventually told it's an “unforeseen” situation. IMO, this whole fiasco could be easily avoided by proper maintenance. I’ve exchanged A LOT of chat messages with the property management agents. Eventually, I was told the heated pool fee will be reimbursed to my account since the pool has not been working throughout our whole stay. Once back home I checked my statements and found out that not only was I not reimbursed but got charged TWICE for the heated pool!!! After more chat messages I finally got a confirmation the refund has been is issued. Overall the house was clean, spacious, and in a gated community but "luxury" implies a level of service and attention to detail that was not present.

Beautiful convenient condo

The condo was so pretty. The commute to Disney was easy and close. We really enjoyed our stay here. We felt very safe. Would definitely recommend.

Good overall

It was a really nice place, really peaceful and clean. The only problem was in the main bedroom, the bed was a little to old so my back hurt, but everything else was really nice.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our first time staying at this property. The house was really nice and fit everyone perfectly. The pool was kept up every day and the trash went out every day as well, which was really nice. The only bad thing I have to say is that we could not get in touch with The management company, thankfully, we did not have anything go terribly wrong. The sheets were a little worn and had holes in some of them. One coffee maker was broken, so we went to get the other coffee maker out of the closet, and a guest had left coffee in it, and it was moldy and was never cleaned and then one of the bedside tables were broken, but my family always has tools so they fixed it and put it back. We always like to leave properties better than we found them, so we let management know about the coffee maker because we did not want anyone to think we left it like that. It was a great stay in a great location, and I wish we could’ve stayed longer! There was ample parking and the neighborhood was pretty quiet. We had a two year-old with us and I never felt they were unsafe, if there was anyone wanting to bring kids. The house really did have everything that you could need other than the coffee maker, which was fine because we got coffee on the way to the parks. A big perk was that Disney’s Animal Kingdom was super close and we got there in no time, we really loved that about the location. The house was also close to all the grocery stores and restaurants that you could want. Lastly, I really liked how the neighborhood was hatted and you had to scan a code to get in! The security guards were also amazing!

Good house, but location is affected by high trafic

The house is comfortable for up to 10 people. Pool is a but small and the heating was not working (even though I paid for it to be). Distance to the parks is not long, but trafic on I-4 had us taking about an hour to get to Sea World and Universal. A bit less to Disney parks (45min). The major issue was the entrance to the gated community. QR code never worked properly.

NOT A GREAT STAY 1HR IN TRAFFIC FROM UNIVERSAL PARKS

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we arrived after a 6 hour drive, no one was able to use a bathroom because there was not a single tissue in the entire house. House is pretty for the picture but upon arrival we found several things that were not in the best condition. The living room furniture: couches actually hurt your buttons, not comfy at all. Chairs at the kitchen breakfast bars were cheap and did not stay in the desired positions (kept sliding down). Bathtub in the master, shower pressure was very low, couldn't get a steady shower as the switch was not working properly. The stopper for a bath was not operable either. The chairs in the backyard are rusted so we did not use them in fear that they would just fall apart. No broom or dust pan to clean up with..The property was beautiful but the actual house needs a better cleaning. There were long strands of hair everywhere. Worst of all in the kitchen, in the dishes. Host wanted $55 to use the grill and $55 to heat the pool...Not reasonable considering the price of the townhouse and the lack of toiletries. Overall I would not recommend the house.

Dirty and ice cold pool was worthless

What a disappointment. When you pay extra for a place to have a private pool, you would expect to be able to use it. When there is no pool heat in January, a pool is not useable. In addition, I was attempted to reach out to the property manager several times 2 weeks and a week in advance to confirm whether or not there was going to be pool heat, as advertised. I did not get a response at first, until I kept following up with them. Then, the responses was we do not know if the heater works, but will let you know. Then crickets despite my continued follow up. On the day of arrival as we arrived in Orlando I get a message saying sorry the pool heat is “broken”. This was obviously intentional. They refused to do anything for us because of this, not a dollar refund or anything. Next the place is filthy and the linens are gross. I doubt that they were ever cleaned from the previous guests because they smelled. Our feet were black from walking barefoot in the home as it was dirty. The neighborhood is great, but I would not recommend anything with this property management group called “At home vacations”. They are a poor operation with shoddy communication and poor cleaning crew in my opinion.

Condo Disaster

We would like to be refunded for our stay. We couldn’t get into our condo to start. Names were not passed on to the security gate. After we confirmed with our condo contact numerous times. We finally got in to the property but they gave us the wrong number for access to the condo so we had to get ahold of the property management and get a new access number. Then the smoke alarm went off with a vocal warning as well because someone had removed the battery so again we had to phone the property management and they sent someone out to remove the alarm they brought it back the next day and replaced the alarm. Then we had water on the floor in the kitchen by the sink. We noticed it and looked under the sink and found a bucket under the sink drain full of water. We called property management and the sent another repairman out to repair the sink. We took everything out from underneath the sink and found cockroaches and a large can of Raid cockroach spray under the sink. We killed a few cockroaches and informed the repairman who sprayed the whole kitchen and living room area. The repairman also replaced the hose to the sink and the tap for the kitchen sink which again was a two day episode. The screens around the pool were ripped and open. The lawn chairs were rusty and broken in areas. We also had cockroaches around the pool and in the master bedroom upstairs and the master bathroom . The pool was not clean and a pool man had to come out to clean it. Please contact us. Thanks

Review

The property was sufficiently described. The linens & bedding were not the best and the cooking utensils were lacking. But this is still a nice place. The one complaint is that the property manager never really dealt w/our concerns. The left side of the sink leaked the entire time. I’m sure that is great for property damage, we called 4 times. They had our reservation dates wrong. Lots of broken towel & toilet paper holders through out the house. The batteries in the smoke detectors kept chirping, the lights & fans didn’t work, tv upstairs didn’t work… we sent message after message and only the toilet paper holder was fixed. Again, the house was great. Property management was very poor

The overall was good, but the House is a bit worn and outdated, tried text the maneger friday evening last week and havent heard anything yet.. a lot of water on the pool deck when raining, good location, overcome Price, we would go back, hopefully updated, best regards from Denmark

Couldn’t use the pool!

The property is nice and clean, however I paid for a property with a private pool! Upon arrival I noticed the pool water was green and top of the pool was dirty! I immediately called the maintenance number and someone did return my phone call and said he would look into it. Day 2 no one reached out, we were out all day and got back late. Day 3 now Saturday morning I call maintenance again and was assured someone was coming that day, again no once shows up! Saturday I also go to change the toilet paper roll in the master bathroom and half the piece comes off the wall! I send an email and never get a response! Long story short no one ever came to clean or treat the pool, and then the management company wants to blame be for the toilet roll holder being broken! This is the worst experience I have ever had with the management at any rental property!

The house and location were very good, had a couple of complaints 1 was the lack of cleaning supplies and towels were terrible # 2 the grill called to get the code so we could bbq waited 2 days no call back we had to go to Walmart and buy a small grill, I don’t think that was very considerate. Would not recommend this specific rental company in Florida for your stay .

Property was great, centrally located and the water park was a nice perk. The house had laundry facilities and a coffee machine. The only complaint I had was minor…no broom and I couldn’t get the vacuum to work. With 8 people in the house for 2 weeks, we definitely needed one. Overall, good experience!
