We booked this property to go see a reds vs cubs baseball game. We get there and park, as we are getting ready to get out we see a man and a pregnant women walking towards our vehicle. The woman is shaking her head and staring at us with a dirty look on her face like we were doing something wrong. We walk around to the entrance of this place and there are homeless all around, people are loitering right outside the door and trying to talk to you. We go up to the room and I’ve never felt so uncomfortable in a situation in my life! We have stayed at many large downtown cities and been around the homeless. We travel a lot and very often but this was a total different feeling. Neither of us felt safe and we decided to find somewhere else to stay. As we exit the building, as soon as we walked outside, two people start yelling hey at us trying to get our attention. They kept yelling and trying to get our attention. Makes sense why the place was so cheap. I reached out to the owner through VRBO and she let me know they have a very strict no refund policy. I can understand why. If they offered refunds they would probably lose money! Not even a block down the road was a homeless camp. After getting home and talking to a coworker about the situation, he told us he’s from that area and it was a wise choice to stay somewhere else. We stayed just across the river in Kentucky and it was way better. If your planning to stay at this site DON’T! Go across the river. Much safer area!!
